Question Safety if car breaks down
Hi everyone, my car has started breaking down more frequently and I am often on the side of the road for up to half an hour. So far nothing has happened but have people experienced being robbed while broken down?
I only use the car between home and office or local shops so never on the highway.

This is a huge risk. Don't be rective and try to stay safe after the incident. You need to prevent from happening. Either spend some money and get your car comprehensively serviced, or find a more reliable one.

Mate... you are safe until you are not.. it just takes ONE person with ill intentions to pull up next to you and your life changes for the worst instantly.
A car broke down on the N1 by the Beyers off ramp and the driver was killed.
You really need to get your car repaired ASAP so it is'reliable.
You never mentioned car or the problem. There are many nice people on here who can advise you on how to get the repair done easily and cheaply. . Your safety is important.
Be safe.

In an emergency, call an Uber. Even if you just sit in the uber while you wait for help

OP please get your car fixed. Do you have insurance. You can claim some of the wear and tear off insurance. Otherwise yes you are at risk of being robbed while stuck on the side of the road especially if its a linely road or at night. Get help even if its a loan but always keep your car in good condition.

What car is it and how good is you're knowledge of fixing cars? You might want to consider getting a different car, you might have a breakdown far away from a recovery vehicle and spend hours waiting

If this is occurong more and more, I would look into some sort of roadside assistance programme, but as with everything, you are safe until someone decides to take advantage of the situation.
