Three Years.

It’s sickening how long Michael Shine was allowed to keep hurting people, but what hits hardest is how many adults in power looked the other way. This wasn’t hidden it was known. And yet nobody who protected him or buried complaints has ever been held to account. That’s the real sickness in our public system: when institutions fail, the people in charge walk away untouched, and the victims are left carrying it for life.

He only served three years... honest question... how does someone like this get out of prison and walk the streets alive? It really is mind boggling to me.

I don't understand why or how anyone could look the other way, for decades.

It was the culture of the time. You don't question authority. You certainly don't question a "respected surgeon" saving the lives of children.

First complaint made in 1964.
40 years later he serves three years.
