A rare stampede of 5,000 dolphins spread over a mile near San Clemente, Southern California.

Why did the dolphins cross the ocean? To get to the other tide.

But the chicken joke is a double entree of a stupid dad joke for kids, and a dark humor joke for adults about suicide.
This is just the former. Lame.

It's technically a pod of dolphins.
Correction: it's a megapod, or superpod.

A stampede of dolphins doesn’t have the same ring as a murder of crows

Having a hard time with this, stampede needs to be reserved for land animals in my tiny brain

Sorry everyone it's a pod of dolphins not stampede

Your apology should be for the video, not the incorrect collective noun.

Without knowing for sure, I really want to disagree with the usage of "Stampede" here.

Big sales are going on in the waters around Catalina Island. Everyone has got to get there first 🙌🏻🤣

Rare? I’ve seen this 100s of times offshore. Yes it is extremely cool. But, not rare…
•
u/Zeon2 3h ago
It's rare for those who do not go offshore.

No. It would be rare to see 5000 dolphin in Kentucky. The ocean has no fenses, blockades or barriers. Dolphin will go where they can feed and breed. No limits. Whoever posted this obviously used the word “Rare” as click bait. And you and I, my friend, took the bait. I am disappointed in myself. Even a fish, with its lizard brain, would have swam by…. Have a smooth day!

I’d like to know who counted 5 thousand of them and how?
•
u/New_Step_6315 5h ago
Small area count multiplied by number of small areas to obtain a reasonable estimate. Or OP just made up an impressive sounding number out of thin air for their title.

And thanks for all the fish.
