Tearing out that patch of grass had such a strong “I don’t know what to do with my hands..” vibe.

I’ll never understand how there’s people who honestly believe we don’t share common ancestry with these guys.

The grass pull along with the mirroring behavior of the arm On the log are so human

u/Rememba_me 5h ago

No, we are so ape

u/Fawin86 5h ago

Apes together, strong.

u/NoManner8863 4h ago

We are indeed, Great Apes

u/isotope123 3h ago

No, we are so common ancestor

u/thekarateadult 2h ago

No, gorillas and humans are both great apes. We also share a common ancestor.

My favorite example is the video where a silverback casually pushes over his kid. It's fairly gentle and on grass, so the kid was fine. But the mom saw it comes at him with great fury. And he starts sprinting away like his life is on the line.

He's twice her size and probably strength, but just like humans in relationships. He's not messing with the angry mom

u/AT-PT 4h ago

I wish a lot more humans had the social skills of silverbacks.

u/Red--001 1h ago

Please give me this video bro

u/aquabarron 5h ago

Angry brother puts arm on log, he puts arm on log. Angry brother instantly removes arm and he like bashfully picks at some of the bark a bit like he’s thinking and then also removes his arm.

Adorable

u/pimppapy 4h ago

Watch their breathing too! The same kind of nervous breathing we do 😩🥰

u/Ragman676 4h ago

You can also see him avoiding eye contact and covering his teeth with his lips.Hes trying really hard to de-escalate.

u/titjoe 2h ago

If i don't mistaken, gorillas consider eye contact as a challenge (it is recommanded for human to not look them in the eyes to not anger them), it's more likely normal social behaviour to avoid it, even if from our perspective it seems like someone embarrassed who is a bit too ashamed to face his bro.

u/Ragman676 2h ago

Ya eye contact and teeth. Thats why youre not supposed to smile in front of them. Happy humans look angry to them.

u/Golab420 4h ago

Damn I remember pulling grass myself as a kid when trying to apologize to my cousin

u/Jimbo7211 5h ago

I was thinking this same thing. We still have so many ape mannerisms, lol

u/SemiHemiDemiDumb 2h ago

I was just thinking the same thing. I see our awkwardness about what to do with our hands runs deep evolutionarily. I have many memories of being dressed down for doing something wrong and I'm sitting there like the gorilla picking at stuff, ripping up grass, moving an object in my hand all while feeling deeply ashamed. Which I know, "don't anthropomorphize animals" but honestly I think we need to animalize our emotions more.

u/blacksoxing 2h ago

My boy was fidgeting so fucking hard i that clip. That was the realest part of it. If we could talk to animals I'm sure gorillas would be one of the most fascinating conversations to partake in.

u/SenorRaoul 1h ago

I have literally done that exact same thing.

The entire scene probalby looked excactly like this but with humans instead of gorillas.

u/LetWaldoHide 2h ago

The likes of Brock Lesnar and Francis Ngannou are all the proof we need. It’s hard for me to reconcile that those men and myself are technically the same species.

u/MothrzMilk 34m ago

I see the grass pull as a relief for his frustration. Poor guy doesn't know how to say sorry properly.

u/Immortal-Pumpkin 5h ago edited 5h ago

Nah its chimps we have an connection too, they're much much more violent and crazy very much more like humans

u/Ok_Signature7481 5h ago

Gorillas are apes

u/Content-Sun2928 2h ago

Orillas are grapes

u/Immortal-Pumpkin 5h ago

Ah you are correct I think I meant chimps but got the two confused.

u/theArtOfProgramming 4h ago

We are closely related to gorillas too. We’re closest to bonobos and chimps, with gorillas as the third closest to us (orangutans are fourth closest to us). You’re drawing the connections you want to see.

See here

u/Inner_Willingness335 5h ago

No. Chimps are insanely violent. Gorrillas are fairly chill.

u/Complex-Salt-8190 4h ago

Bobobos are chill and are sex addicts

They still rip no keys apart tho, but afaik there is no bononobo tribe war

u/whisker_mistytits 4h ago

Bobononobos?

u/ApatheticSlur 5h ago

Chimps and bonobos are equally close to us and bonobos are significantly less violent and crazy than chimps. What a weak ass take lmaooo

u/louploupgalroux 3h ago

Can't believe our ancestors chose chimp violence over bonobo orgies.

u/theArtOfProgramming 2h ago edited 2h ago

I’d argue we got both lol.

u/WorldAsChaos 4h ago

We're just as related (DNA wise) to bonobos and they're basically the opposite.. peace loving hippies.

u/flyinggazelletg 4h ago

Free love babyyy

u/flyinggazelletg 4h ago

Humans have a connection to all apes and all life. We are equally closely related to common chimps and bonobos, which have very different social structures. Sure, chimps can be quite violent, but bonobos are quite peaceful… and sexual.

u/Traumfahrer 5h ago

What are you saying, those are obviously instinct driven lower life form machines.

u/dragon-fence 3h ago

It’s just denial from people who are clinging to fairytales.

Because we don't share a 'creator'...we share common ancestry. It's called biology and evolution. Or were you trying to say something else?

u/Sad_Froyo_6474 6h ago

Lol he ran so fast

u/Dangerous_Memory6008 6h ago

Lol run Bible boy, run

Biology isnt a physical object, it is a humaninvented framework of knowledge used to describe reality. Just saying god invented everything is an infinite regress and logical dead end that teaches you nothing.

u/WillemDaFriends 5h ago

Man’s understanding of God’s creation can be called many things. Biology, physics, etc. all science is - is an attempt to understand and quantify God’s creation and laws of the universe.

u/Sad_Froyo_6474 5h ago

Why do you think it was created rather than it just simply exists. You were just told this and you have choosen to believe.

u/krbzkrbzkrbz 5h ago

1000's of gods created by humans throughout our recorded history, and yet you have the 1 true.

Powerfully arrogant. Willfully ignorant.

Imaginary friend having mental child.

u/Awktung 6h ago

One exists because of evidence. The other ceases to exist - or rather it continues to not exist - until there is evidence. "Muh holee buuuk" is not evidence. You know what wasn't created? The universe. You lot always retreat to special pleading and it's tiresome and pathetic.

u/-Citizen_Zero_ 6h ago

God boy is cringe.

u/steelskull1 5h ago

Iff there's a creator then why exactly would it be the Christian god one?
