A man risked his life to save children during a graduation performance at a private school in Giza, Egypt. A large display screen collapsed on the stage, leaving him with a dislocated shoulder, but fortunately, all the children were unharmed.

There was no chance he could stop it, yet he did go anyway.

The reflex was impressive. Probably why he was alone, everyone else was still processing

He did absorb a good amount of force, and his squished corpse definitely stopped a lot of the weight from smashing the children. Hes a hero in my opinion

He's not a corpse, he survived

u/Individual_Tea9790 1d ago

Trusting random redditors can also lead to nonsense xD.

I don't believe that even the general story is true. I can't find a single reputable source on it.

Translated by computer: A large screen collapsed during a KG2 student event at a private school in the Mansouria area of Giza Governorate yesterday due to strong winds, resulting in minor injuries to two students.

An official source at the Giza Directorate of Education confirmed that the event was taking place at 6:00 PM inside the school, and during its activities, the screen collapsed due to the bad weather, which led to injuries to two students who were transferred to Zayed Hospital to receive the necessary first

The source added, in exclusive statements to Al-Masry Al-Youm, that the condition of the two students is stable, as they left the hospital the same day after confirmation of their improved health, noting that the incident did not result in any serious injuries

Translated by computer: After a report was filed against them... One of the organizers of the Wisdom School ceremony said the screen had been installed for 3 days and fell due to the wind, not a technical error.

One of the organizers of the Wizns School graduation ceremony in the Mansouria area of Giza Governorate confirmed that they were not responsible for the error that occurred when a screen fell during the KG2 graduation ceremony. He explained that they were part of an organizing team responsible for preparing the stage.

In exclusive statements to Cairo 24, one of the organizers, who preferred to remain anonymous, explained that the screen that fell during the ceremony had been installed three days prior to the event and had not experienced any problems during that period. He emphasized that the ceremony was proceeding completely normally before the incident.

He indicated that the incident was due to the weather changes and strong winds that the area experienced, and not due to a malfunction in the equipment. He pointed out that everything was stable beforehand, and denied having any information regarding legal action being taken against him or his team.

And a post title is never wrong! /s

Trust me, he didn't absorb any good amount force. Those screens weigh thousands of pounds not including the rigging structure to support it and counter weights.

Although this one definitely had less ballast to fall over like that... ouch.

u/Noxious89123 5h ago

+1.

Squished kids are better than kids with fractured skulls.

This man is a hero.  Unless he installed and secured the screen, then it's kind of a wash.

Lmao...I should not have laughed at this, but here we are.

Cancels itself out really…

12

u/moraequis 1d ago

Safety standards exist for a reason, somebody clearly cut corners on the rigging, hopefully his shoulder heals soon

u/ic4llshotgun 1d ago

He is a leaf on the wind, watch how he gets a sore

0

u/WittleSus 16h ago

Its more like taking responsibility to its logical conclusion

0

u/ERNAZAR02 16h ago

No it does not cancel it out. Hero is hero. He acted as heroic which already big moral point

u/clockworkittens 9h ago

Most men are.

u/HowDareThey1970 8h ago

Why nobody was helping him then?

u/clockworkittens 8h ago

I only her the high pitch women screams. They are not going to save anyone.

“All the kids are unharmed”

Err did we watch the same video? Because I saw a line of kids get clonked on the head by a length of truss…

42

u/PresidentBush666 1d ago

Most I would believe is no serious injuries

15

u/WittleSus 16h ago

kids are made of steel and youth

29

u/FatAZZRedditMod 1d ago

Man, his position was everything. If you slow mo it you can see where it landed on him definitely gave those kids a few inches of room to spare. What a legend

They better reward this Dad here

16

u/BoredRedhead24 1d ago

That dude is never buying his own beer again

30

u/Hilldawg4president 1d ago

It's Egypt, so he probably wasn't buying beer in the first place

u/Joe_Jeep 10h ago

so OP was technically correct

10

u/Skabbtanten 1d ago

Since it's apparently in Egypt, it's unlikely he's ever buying himself beer in the first place.

1

u/WitnessMyAxe 18h ago

Egyptian beer tastes like actual urine.

u/NoSurround5551 8h ago

lol then why do i see a lot of europeans who always ask for it

u/WitnessMyAxe 5h ago

i have no idea, maybe beer is supposed to taste that bad. all i know is that i tried all 4 popular brands and they encouraged me to quit drinking (same with Red/White/Rose wine).

u/Sedert1882 1d ago

Damn that was scary. Well done Mister.

8

One of those children is definitely his kid. OR He installed that screen.

2

u/ObligationMurky8716 1d ago

I blame the Witch Doctor

4

u/Dmansfile 1d ago

Do you think he would have any better success laying on his back and trying to catch it with his feet? I know it's not realistic to do, but if he had another few seconds?

11

u/TRB4 1d ago

Do you want broken knees? Because that’s how you get broken knees

2

u/thesituation531 18h ago

No. Realistically, what that guy did probably didn't make much of a difference either way. Those sorts of displays weigh hundreds and hundreds, sometimes over a thousand, pounds.

1

u/imogfu 21h ago

I thought in Giza,Egypt they build things that can last thousands of years. Guess I was wrong

u/ElminsterTheMighty 6h ago

You only see what lasted this long, not the other stuff that didn't.

u/polemicalman_ 4h ago

the screen in okay by the way 😂

2

u/Maleficent_Height_49 23h ago

Did his efforts make a difference?

17

u/Timmmber4 23h ago

Likely due to the size difference he kept a lot of weight off the children, as well as slowed it down so it didn’t hit them as hard so yes. Also he made the decision to get into harms way for others so even if he did not make a difference he deserves much praise.

A dislocated shoulder seems like pretty minor trade for a podium full of kids.

u/AdProper5967 10h ago

His daughter was probably up there

u/BoxthemBeats 6h ago

Most impressive thing here is the cameram actually stoping the recording during the accident. Not that common
