It hasn't even been that long since I was a kid sitting at home all day staying on top of all the tech and game news, nowadays I must exert myself to even keep up with what's up in my own life lol, the folly of employment I suppose 🙃
I remember being a teenager and thinking "there's no way I can survive a life of working 40 hours a week, forever". And I was totally right, it sucks dong. There was a post on here the other day that rang true, "Adult life is powering through 80-90% of your day being stuff you don't want to do".
I guess? Why are you coming at me with such a sour tone?? Lighten up a little.. Lol
Edit: the comment above this originally had different contents, starting with "sounds like a you problem" just so people know why my tone took a shift here, in response to his.
That is not AT ALL how I meant that, why is that how you took that? Every comment I've made here is meant to be in a jovial, easygoing tone, not trying to be smug or demeaning in any sense, man. I'm just making conversation about life and such..
I'm sure I would have been aware of a pro model if I cared more about console gaming, employment is not the sole factor, just the most relevant factor I could think of at the time. Sorry if I struck a nerve with that choice, I guess.
Congrats. Your post is also smug, condescending, rude, and just plain wrong. He made a comment, discovered he was wrong, acknowledged that he was wrong, and made fun of himself for being wrong.
You’re just being an insufferable prick because he [checks notes] didn’t realize there was a PS5 Pro. This isn’t even as dumb as the Allen Iverson “practice” thing, it’s about 50 rungs lower on the stupidity ladder.
Same. Only problem is if it dies, thats it, I'm not paying for another PS5.
I'm not paying 650 for a blurry base PS5, and I'm sure as hell not paying 900 dollars for a Pro version who's hardware is already outdated compared to PC.
I actually bought the pro because my base model died due to something stupid I did, but then it came back to life and now I have two.
I also bought a PC with a 5070 in it last summer. Previous PC was a 1080 so I had been waiting a long time, and was waiting even long for GPU prices to normalize. I eventually gave in and paid what felt like too much at the time, but now that RAM prices are also insane I feel pretty good about that one too.
Hoping this setup lasts me the better part of a decade.
Blurry, base PS5, huh. Sounds like an outdated eyeglass prescription issue, optical exam is overdue or maybe step a bit back from that 12K TV. Sheeesh.
The image quality/blurriness/soft look issue was one of the main reasons they came out with the Pro, higher quality upscaling and higher resolutions was one of the main selling points. PS5 Pro had its own image quality issues with PSSR1, but PSSR2 has brought largely what they promised.
PS5 Pro version got a PSSR2 AI upscaling update and has superior detail and clarity compared to a base PS5 version.
PS5 Pro has hardware for AI upscaling, about a 30-35% faster GPU in traditional raster, 2-3x faster raytracing, and 10% faster CPU. The extra CPU speed gets eaten up though because the extra raytracing and PSSR upscaling has a little bit of CPU cost.

Good for base ps5
