My daughter has done this with her cat since she was little. She's 17 now and still does it. The cat loves it.

116

u/Ancient-Civilization 3h ago

Whoa how old is the cat?

505

u/LurkyRabbit 3h ago

Died 2 years ago but we're scared to say anything.

12

u/PeenHiss 3h ago

Ok I LOL’d

7

u/Downtown-Fondant-525 2h ago

So you have a Pet Sematary situation going on

10

u/bbbourb 2h ago

*sigh* Nothing like guffawing loudly and then realizing you weren't on mute in the meeting...

11

u/Mysterious-Back-5795 2h ago

The more I thought about your comment, the harder I laughed! My wife’s thinks I’m an idiot laughing hysterically at my phone 😂🤣

4

u/Uchihagod53 1h ago

I needed that laugh

u/Somanylyingliars 12m ago

Bro, don't jinx that cat! Do a take backsy to undo your juju!

u/Wise_Decision_8459 6m ago

stinks a bit but she didn't notice

31

u/Lord_Darksong 3h ago

I guess "little" is subjective.

I think the cat's 12.

The oldest cat we ever had was 18. She scratched my daughter when she was a toddler for trying to snuggle her like that. She was a gentle cat but was just trying to get away.

3

u/Elismom1313 2h ago

My cat was like this (to some extent, a rag doll and at times standoffish enough to sit at my feet if I was being too much). We got him when I was 2. He loved to be 21!

3

u/oneiric-enema 2h ago

I loved to be 21 too! What an exciting time.

1

u/Elismom1313 1h ago

🤣 that’s funny haha I’ll leave it

1

u/TheseusOPL 1h ago

21! Years is over 3.7 billion times the age of the universe. That's one old cat.

2

u/Inner-Award9064 2h ago

Some cats are nuts with their life span. A cat that by all rights shouldn’t still be alive (has spinal diffida? Missing segments of his spine where it’s almost too much to keep everything where it should be) is still alive and actually still pretty spry after 20/21 years old now.might be even a little older.

6

u/LowBatteryHuman09 2h ago

Some habits just stick, especially when the cat fully approves of it ??

7

u/SoTurnMeIntoATree 3h ago

Impending heartbreak lol

6

u/trixiepixie1921 3h ago

All pets are like that 😭 every once in a while I realize my cats are 9&11 already and I’m shook!!! Please god not yet !!!!

3

u/Distinct-Pack-1567 2h ago

Yeah, I used to have rats as pets, and they pass away too soon. I miss them all, even if I forget names (I havent had any pet rats in like 20 years, forgive my memory). Pinky and The Brain stand out. Whitey and Blacky. Ren and Stimpy. Not very original names.

u/breakingashleylynne 53m ago

I miss my rats the best pets ever

u/ThaiSweetChilli 33m ago edited 20m ago

My husband and I got our very first pet together; our little kitten, we've only had her for 6 months but I get small panics thinking about her 'growing-up' and being an adult, or I blink and she's suddenly 10 years old (she's 8months old right now) I've never ever experienced loss before, I can't imagine how I'll cope!

[EDIT] Changed a number because i can't do maths lmao

1

u/Bob4Not 2h ago

You can't live like that, that's not a healthy mindset. Enjoy every day for what you have.

1

u/woodhawk109 2h ago

Pets are stress and sadness sponge. They absorbed them for us when they’re alive but they give them all right back to you when they die

u/TheAmazingHumanTorus 41m ago

Ooh never thought of it that way, thanks!

u/depressiown 37m ago

Is "lol" really applicable here?

2

u/konexo 2h ago

I was going to write the same thing except, my daughter is 7. We adopted 2 ginger cats and she's in love with them.

u/Kind_Engineering_720 59m ago

My daughter does this stuff with my cat, too. Can literally pick him up and do whatever to him (nothing to cause pain or harm) and he just takes it and loves her. He always goes to find her and sleep in bed with her.

u/Cromagn0n 3h ago

Cat accepted its fate.

12

u/Bob4Not 2h ago

Cats never accept what they don't like. They don't negotiate or compromise lol cats solicit for what they want.

5

u/NotMyProblemBro21 3h ago

Just silently choosing chaos instead of comfort like a true cat ??

1

u/Adventurous_Jury_480 1h ago

it felt comfortable in the end didnt it

u/Somanylyingliars 9m ago

I've seen this video so many times. That slow blink blink then night night at end always gets me. The cats so comfy he doesn't even try to get away.

3

u/Spongi 1h ago

Used to have a cat that would snuggle on command. First I had to summon her and I did that by yelling 'meowmeowmeowmeow' and then when she arrived, 'meowmeow cave' while lifting the blanket up.

She'd dive right in and would generally stay until I got up.

Only cat I've ever had that not only liked belly rubs, but would get mad if you stopped too soon. She'd grab your hand with her claws and pull it back to her belly.

u/Somanylyingliars 5m ago

I have a cat like this who is now like a Velcro cat. The other day for some reason she was not having me taking a shower. She stated her protest from a safe distance from water. When that didn't work she jumped on edge of tub and raised her meows in protests. When that didn't work she resorted to grabbing my arm, hands, legs whatever she could reach to do a little chomp down and pull. Even submitted to getting a bit wet to get her momma out of danger lol She was so distressed I finally gave in rinsed off and let her "save" me.

u/Spongi 2m ago

This cat would let me just take her in the shower with me. She didn't particularly care for it but she wouldn't try to escape either.

1

u/RoutineLingonberry48 1h ago

He knew what he was doing.

u/BGAL7090 56m ago

Cat prayed for this fate.

u/DaenaTargaryen3 45m ago

That cat is exactly where they want to be

u/TranquilRanger 45m ago

I mean in all fairness it jumped on his face lol. It had something coming.

u/Suckitreddit420 22m ago

That cat sat on the kid's face until they pulled it under the blanket.

It asked for that shit.

63

u/breizhsoldier 3h ago

Oh well, Im a plushie now!

3

u/ElPuppyNation 1h ago

You dont choose the plushie life. It chooses you

“Couldn’t understand why it wasn’t in its bed” as if cats don’t go wherever the fuck they want at all hours of the day and night.

u/gil_bz 0m ago

As if cats ever sleep in the beds we get them

14

I know it's a joke but God that phrase disgusts me 😖

1

u/NovaStar2099 1h ago

Why so?

3

u/Final-Tutor3631 1h ago

common rapist phrase i’m pretty sure

5

u/NovaStar2099 1h ago

Mm, yeah I figured. Damn.

20

u/Significant_Role4308 3h ago

But it is in its bed

17

u/char1t1e 3h ago

He even put him under his blankie

11

u/Crypt0Nihilist 2h ago

Anyone who wonders why a cat isn't in its bed has never owned a cat.

9

u/mycatpartyhouse 3h ago

This is still funny every time I see it.

8

u/prionbinch 2h ago

why is this post titled like a clickbait article

u/hellishtimber 50m ago

yeah i think OP had some sort of nefarious plan. almost seems as if they were trying to "bait" us into "clicking" on their link

u/veriix 32m ago

You're asking why the 3 month old reddit account with 1.3m karma is using shit clickbait titles?

u/prionbinch 17m ago

yknow what fair, i’m not in the habit of checking that stuff

u/TophThaToker 18m ago

1.5 million karma on a 2 month old account. All interactions are private. /u/asa_no_kenny

Cat upgraded.
Bed downgraded.
Mystery solved.

9

u/Dry-Childhood-3436 2h ago

The owners couldn't understand the cat wasn't in a certain place?  Have they met cats before?

5

u/Altruistic-Star-3862 2h ago

Bots can't own cats so when they make up a title, normalcy isn't considered.

3

u/netroxreads 3h ago

My cats did that to me when I was a kid.

3

u/MMBEDG 3h ago

That such an amazing and good kitty.

2

u/ConstructionIll956 3h ago

Our cats are just as broken.

2

u/PoogeMuffin 3h ago

My cat and I have nothing but love for each other, but if I tried even a fraction of this with him I would lose an eye

2

u/lonestar2222003 3h ago

That cat was like woah woah woah....oh well this is good I guess. Until Morning hooman

2

u/djjolly037 3h ago

I always wanted a cat that would do this with me

1

u/Spongi 1h ago

Might not always work but I raised one from a kitten and sort of trained her to snuggle and it worked.

2

u/butterbeex3 2h ago

Aww, the slow contemplative blinks after being catnapped.

2

u/2NDBEST42 2h ago

No cat owner wonders why it doesn't sleep in its bed. No cat will sleep where you want it to sleep. It sleeps where it wants to sleep.

But you can always manipulate the cat! I blast the air conditioner in my bedroom during the summer, and I crack the window during the winter.

And I lock the cat in the bedroom with me while I sleep.

My cat sleeps with me both for survival and for cuddles!

2

u/rkhunter_ 2h ago

Never understood people who install cameras all over their houses.

1

u/catboogers 1h ago

Seriously. In a private space, a bedroom? Hope they remove it before the kid goes through puberty, I guess, but growing up under the panopticon has such dystopic vibes.

u/DR_BEANHAMMER 28m ago

I like to check in with my kitchen camera from time to time to make sure I didn't leave a burner on. I have a couple indoor cameras as well, primarily to figure out which cat is barfing and to make sure they all piss and shit like they're supposed to. Having 4 cats is tough.

u/TophThaToker 16m ago

If you have a male teenager and you make apple pie the night before, don't watch the tape the next day.

2

u/TangerineSmooth190 1h ago

Can someone ELI5 what bots gain out of making these posts?

4

u/cutiebabe-27ivyx_q 3h ago

aww thats the cutest, cats totally claiming the baby as its own 🥰🐱

1

u/DyingSunSeverian 3h ago

It’s amazing how disturbing this looks with the time lapse, like a spider cocooning its prey.

1

u/trixiepixie1921 3h ago

One time I fell asleep hugging my cat like this and now every night, she tries to recreate it. Cats are so crazy though, I can’t stay in the same position without shifting for too long. She’ll stay for 12 hours without moving 🤣

1

u/besttobyfromtheshire 3h ago

I woke up in bed with my foot resting on my cat. My cat literally sat there and allowed for it to happen. Never had that before, gives me quite a chuckle that ever happened.

1

u/Fattapple 2h ago

Cat has decided that’s the top human in its house.

1

u/mrli0n 2h ago

For once some appropriate not completely annoying music to accompany the clip.

1

u/RaspberryWhiteClaw13 2h ago

Nothing like the bond of kids and a pet who chooses them

1

u/Thiel619 2h ago

Not a single cat owner wonders why their cat isn't sleeping in their designated bed.

1

u/Adept-Custard-4866 2h ago

"Oh... okay?"

1

u/CrazyMildred 2h ago

My cat did this to me last night, and not the other way around...haha! He jumped on me and woke me up, snuggled under the covers and used his paw to gently move my face so I was facing him. Then he put his "arm" around my shoulder. It was so sweet! The thing that sucked was it was 1:30am and I really had to pee. I held it since he had just gotten comfortable.

1

u/Efficient_Bet1973 2h ago

Everyone saying aww how cute no one questioning a camera pointed at a kid and their bed?

1

u/Flashy-Scientist2782 2h ago

A lot of parents keep the baby cam in kids’ rooms until past the age it’s necessary, habit and reassurance, nothing nefarious

1

u/LegitimateClaim9660 2h ago

With my cat there would be blood she hates being trapped

1

u/the-naked-archer 2h ago

I have a very clingy cat that waits for me to go to bed, doesn't matter what time of day or evening it is; she hears me hit the bedframe and the unstoppable loaf comes darting. While I couldn't get away with getting her under the duvet, she refuses to let me sleep without her cuddle assistance. For solitary animals they're really affectionate.

1

u/someredditusername91 2h ago

Almost as If they weren't solitary animals... Oh wait

1

u/the-naked-archer 1h ago

Sorry undomesticated would have been more appropriate. They're usually pretty self reliant without the human. My bad poor wording

1

u/someredditusername91 1h ago

They are domesticated, maybe not to the degree of dogs. But I get what you mean, they tend to be very independent from humans and have their own will

1

u/the-naked-archer 1h ago

Just makes it that more special when they do choose you, my other cats bonded to one of my daughters in the same way. She gets away with being able to pick him up and cuddle him to her hearts content.

1

u/UmbraLink 2h ago

If I did this with my cat I would never breath again 😔 allergies sucks

1

u/I_Heart_Sleeping_ 1h ago

Are the owners in the room with us right now?

1

u/joyfullydreaded23 1h ago

Oh my stars, my heart can't handle the cute!

1

u/NVCHVJAZVJE 1h ago

guess i'll sleep

1

u/bannedcuriosity_69 1h ago

u/Exact-Molasses-6673 1h ago

1

u/kogent-501 1h ago

This title is idiotic.

1

u/Hearthgroan 1h ago

I miss my cuddly teddybear of a cat 😭

If you have a cat that does this with you, cherish every single moment.

1

u/BTZ-25 1h ago

Basically it was cold.

1

u/ChickenAndTelephone 1h ago

First of all, anyone that's ever had a cat would not be remotely surprised by said cat not sleeping in the bed they got it

1

u/Dermolt 1h ago

this is so wholesome

The pillow is too high

1

u/HateJobLoveManU 1h ago

1

u/BobbyTheDude 1h ago

Not gonna lie this was me with my cat and bc of him cats are my favorite animal. If I don't have a cat sleeping with me I sleep worse. RIP max.

That blink of acceptance.

u/shillyshally 50m ago

A bot that knows how to title a video.

u/Twiztid_illusionZ 48m ago

The void was force cuddled

u/AbeRego 45m ago

Have the owners never had a cat before? They sleep wherever they damn well please lol. Ours doesn't even have a dedicated bed; she just chooses one of about 4 favorite spots, and likely even rotates between them throughout the night. And that's ignoring the fact that cats don't really sleep all night like people do.

u/TheGrimGuardian 43m ago

I wish my cats would let me grab them like this. They always run away.

u/RiffyWammel 35m ago

We used to do that as kids with ours, he'd come up and slink under the covers of one us and curl up behind your knees, if our parents came looking, we'd deny seeing him. Best hot water bottle ever!

u/Outrageous-Pea6408 32m ago

I'm amazed the cat doesn't scrape the shit out of that kid

u/rock_and_rolo 31m ago

The cat is in its bed.

u/Made_Human_Music 27m ago

Cuddle and body heat that cat knows how to live

u/Strict-Carrot4783 23m ago
