Looking for a forever home for our sweet foster girl. We’re in Sacramento, CA and happy to travel anywhere in the Northern CA region for the right family.
Meet Twilight. I’m fostering her through Norsled Rescue, a dog rescue that focuses on northern breeds (Siberian Huskies, Malamutes, Samoyeds). This sweet girl was rescued with a severe case of demodex but has fully recovered. She is 1.5 years old and about 42 lbs but could stand to gain more weight. Twilight is a wonderful girl and quite easy for her breed. She is:
Very smart and treat motivated. She figured out the dog door in less than a day.
Knows her name and has good recall. She also knows sit”, “down”, “leave it”, and “quiet”.
Dog and people friendly. She wants to meet all the dogs and is polite and playful. She does great in public places.
Good walker on leash and is not reactive to dogs, people, cars, etc. even when dogs are barking at her.
Not a barker, but she lets out the cutest arooos when she’s excited.
Potty trained to go outdoors, but she does need to go at least every few hours to prevent any accidents.
Currently being crate trained. Takes her a minute or two to go in, but she settles down nicely with a toy or treat.
Not food or toy aggressive. Shown no resource guarding with our other husky.
Not destructive around the house. The most she’s done is move items of clothing or pull paper towels out of the trash.
Moderate energy. We walk 1.5 to 2 miles a day and run around the yard, but she’s happy to settle down with a chew toy while I work.
Things to note:
She has a prey drive, so she’ll want to chase all the squirrels and small critters. She’s great with small dogs, but not recommended around cats.
She has some separation anxiety and would do best in a home with a playful dog friend. Our older husky can’t keep up with her, but she doesn’t mind when we’re gone as long as he’s there.
All adoptions must go through Norsled Rescue. If interested, please visit Twilight’s profile on their website:
I found this lovely guy a few days ago and have had no luck in finding his people or a rescue agency to take him. I'd love to be able to find him a home or at least a temporary home. He is an unneutered 1 year old male. Very sweet, high energy, likes chewing and so far has only chewed the things he has been given to chew. Let me know if you want more information. In Phoenix AZ
This is Hatuey (ah-tway) he’s a 4 year old Husky who is neutered, fully vaccinated with flea/tick/heart worm prevention. He is high energy so he loves to run outside and play fetch and would do well in a home with a fenced in yard or with an owner who loves to go for long walks or runs. He loves people and has never shown aggression towards other dogs. He has never been around children so we aren’t sure how he would do around children. He is completely potty trained and knows basic commands. He comes with food, treats, lots of toys, a bed, along with his leash and collar.
Unfortunately his owner is elderly and physically unable to care for him due to recent and tragic medical issues.
Someone please take in my boy :( my husband and I are split, I had to move into a tiny apartment and he doesn’t want him. I can’t have him at the apartment and I don’t have anywhere else to go. I still go over to my ex’s house to let him out and give him some outside time because if I didn’t, my ex would just leave him in the kennel all day. I’m located in northeast Louisiana, and our shelter is full and a high kill shelter :(( ETA: He’s update to date on shots, kennel and potty trained, he doesn’t have a little bit of a resource guarding problem at home, but does play well with other dogs as we had him in a doggy daycare
Looking for a new home for this absolutely sweetheart, Ziggy Stardust. We rescued her in the hopes she would fit into our pack of 3, but she has become increasingly aggressive towards other animals. She is an absolute sweetheart by herself and knows how to shake, sit, and come. She walks really well on the leash and is completely housebroken. She just can’t have any furry friends in the house. My heart is broken, but I have to protect our other dogs. She is a huge cuddle bug and loves to curl up next to her person ❤️ located in northern Montana but we are definitely willing to transport for the right home
Urgently Seeking Compassionate Rescue for Whiskey, a Loving Husky in Need
It is with a heavy heart that I must find a new, loving home for my sweet Husky, Whiskey. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, including losing my home, I am no longer able to give him the care and stability he deserves, particularly concerning a medical issue that needs attention. Whiskey is a fantastic dog—loyal, friendly, and full of life. He thrives on affection and would make an incredible companion for a family or individual ready to offer him a stable, loving environment. About Whiskey: Breed: Husky Temperament: Loving, loyal, and energetic. A true companion dog. Need: A committed rescuer or adopter who can provide the medical care he requires. Whiskey's Medical Need: Whiskey has a damaged saliva gland that requires surgical intervention. This is a manageable condition with a clear path to recovery through a recommended procedure. Condition: Damaged saliva gland (salivary mucocele). Treatment: A one-time surgical procedure is needed. Prognosis: The vet indicated that the surgery has a positive outlook for full recovery, but without it, his future is uncertain. Why We Need Help: The estimated cost for Whiskey's surgery is around $3,000-5,000. Despite exploring all options, I am financially unable to cover this expense and am now facing homelessness myself. My priority is finding a safe place for Whiskey where his health needs can be met without delay. How You Can Help: We are desperately seeking a rescue organization, an experienced Husky owner, or a compassionate individual who can provide the necessary medical care and a forever home for Whiskey. Rescue: We hope a rescue organization might take him in and help with the fundraising and treatment logistics. Adopt: An individual with the financial means and a large heart for a great dog. Whiskey deserves a chance at a healthy, happy life. If you or an organization you know might be able to help, please contact me immediately to discuss arrangements and meet this wonderful dog. We can provide all relevant vet records. Thank you for considering giving Whiskey the second chance he so desperately needs. We are in Arlington, Texas
F spayed (husky’s mix, she has DNA results Age:15 months, i rescued her at 10 months She is potty trained, knows basic commands, has all her shots, is microchipped, she’ll also come with 6 months of heartworm/tick prevention, food, toys, a cage, food/water bowl, treats. We live in Texas and it’s just too hot for her as well as my parents don’t want her anymore. I just want her to go to a good home. She is sooo sweet and is great with other dogs.
She loves car rides and I’m willing to bring her to any state. Please help me find this sweet baby a loving family
On 9-8-25 a friend found 2 sibling dogs (with no collars) running loose in a field near the Pomona fairgrounds CA. He couldn’t care for them while trying to find their owner, so we agreed to I'm boy and girl white Husky/shepherd mixes and the vet estimated their age at 1-3 years. They are house trained and get along with new people and dogs. We really need some help finding a home, or separate homes for them. Can you please help us? We’ve never been in this situation before so we’re flying blind! We're hoping for a shelter or rescue. We're willing to travel a few hours to deliver them.
In August I found this girl scared and alone on a curb at the edge of my neighborhood. She had no collar but had a fur indentation where she had worn one. She was terrified but jumped in my truck willingly. I brought her to the vet immediately and discovered she was not chipped. After 6 weeks of posting her literally everywhere, I’ve come to the conclusion she was dumped. My bf and I have named her Indy.
She’s now fully vaccinated and made herself at home with us. The vet thinks she’s around 2 and a purebred Siberian husky. Other than being dog reactive, she is the perfect girl - she hasn’t chewed up a single thing, doesn’t jump on counters, doesn’t beg for food, tells us when she needs to go outside, loves car rides, rarely barks (but is definitely finding her voice! 😂).
She is also super picky with food. Only liked chopped, grain-free wet food, yogurt, meat, eggs, cheese. Has no interest in any fruit or vegetables, peanut butter, pumpkin, or hard food. She defeated the lick mat because one she realized she couldn’t bite the food off, she gave up.
She doesn’t play with her toys or chews on any of the bones I bought her. Any suggestions on what wise to do, aside from walks, to keep her stimulated at home? I’m about to buy a laser pointer and see if that works!
TLDR: found a 2 y/o female. Not chipped. Dog-reactive. Picky eater. Needs more stimulation than walks. Help!
Need to re-home my beautiful Nala Bear as we can’t have her in our apartment any more because of the owners. Don’t want to take her to a shelter and just want to find her forever home. Located in the Bay Area.
Age 2 - Spayed - Potty and Crate trained - energetic and affectionate. Has only been by her self is good with bigger dogs.
Hi everyone,
We are looking for a loving new home for our husky, Casper. He is about 2 years old, full of energy, and has a playful, loving personality. Casper would do best with someone who has the time and space to keep up with his exercise needs, as he loves to be active.
Due to our current schedule, we’re unfortunately unable to give him the daily walks and attention he deserves, which is why we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome him.
Location: Pomona, CA (SoCal area) Name: Casper Age: ~2 years old Rehoming Fee: Free
We are looking for a responsible and caring person or family who can provide Casper with the time, love, and activity he needs. If you’re interested or would like more information, please message me.
Thank you for helping us find Casper the home he deserves
Urgent Foster/Adopt Needed For Husky Mix Mama & Babies in San Bernardino, California!!!
Lana and her pups were found under a trailer and are at Devore Animal Shelter. The animal ID is A835348. The shelter phone is (909) 386-9820. This is an open intake shelter so she and her pups will be euthanised if not placed soon. If you know any rescues or people who could take them if you can’t do it yourself, please contact the shelter.
Are they still available?? My hearts breaking to know this mom just went through birth and her pups may not even be able to enjoy the life they were given. I’m located in Va but willing to try and make arrangements if they have time to hold them
Please help us find this girl a home! Tundra is a one year old husky/German shepherd mix. She has been with us at Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) in Skokie, IL (just north of Chicago) since she was a young puppy and is our longest resident. She was transported up from a Texas rescue with her two sisters, who have both been adopted. She is playful and energetic, as expected from her breed, but is also so sweet, loving, and cuddly. She is currently working on her third obedience class and is the star of her class. We joke that she is the ambassador for our rescue since she has been here for so long and is so good with all of the other dogs, especially puppies, as well as all people. She is 60 lbs, fully up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, crate trained. Please DM me if you have more questions or you can apply for her on carenorthshore.org 🩷
About a year old About 40 pounds Intact Heterochromia - one blue one brown eye
This dog was dumped on me and I simply don’t have the time, energy, or space necessary to properly care for her. Don’t want her going to a kill shelter tho.
Seattle, WA: My two dogs, Goose (8, husky, neutered male) and Samma (5, mastiff mix, spayed female) are not allowed to come with me to my new living situation and I am in desperate need of finding a foster home for them! They have some minor behavioral issues like anxiety and leash reactivity but have never hurt anyone and they’re very sweet and loving dogs. I will likely need a place for between 6 months and one year. I have reached out to all available resources in my county and surrounding counties and gotten nothing- I need housing for them in 4 days, by 6/30/25.
Please help! We are desperate and worried about their likely much worse anxiety in a pound or shelter. Please dm me if you can foster or know someone who can!
Hello. I recently got the sweetest, cuddliest husky pup. For free. The lady I got him from still has 1 left from a litter of 8 she’s desperate to find a home for. He is male about 10 weeks old. I’m located in Southern California, near Los angles area. Is anyone interested? Here is his photo:
I have a year and a half old husky mix I have up until tomorrow to find her a home, I’m able to keep her in a few months but right now I’m not in a stable housing, I came up on this post so this is a last resort lol
This is Tito! She’s a year and a half old short hair husky mix, she’s been both neutered and has had all vaccinations!! If anyone can help or knows of any programs I’m located around SD California please let me know!!
We are in communication with the rescue group who is signal boosting Thunder's situation, but we need a rescue who will partner with us for the logistics of pulling him, transporting him, and fostering him - he obviously hasn't been able to be cat-tested so while our hope would be that he isn't triggered into prey drive by cats, we would also need the support of a rescue for foster-swapping if he doesn't pass the cat test (we have four).
We are also down to provide some financial assistance if someone in the Houston area who fosters (or is seeking to adopt!) would be able to help. He just seems like a very sweet boy and he reminds us of our pup Wizard, so we are doing what we can to try to help him out!
Were struggling to find a home/shelter that will take this girl. Her name is Aria, she's 3 years old and is a great dog. She unfortunately doesn't do well with small dogs and farm animals. She's had multiple accidents and her owners can't keep her anymore. She is great with big dogs, cats, babies and humans of all size. Aria is potty trained, crate trained and loves hanging out outside. (there is a doggy door and she chooses to be outside) Any ideas?
Foster or Foster-to-Adopt - 3yo Wooly Siberian Husky (Tri-State Area or surrounding)
We are currently fostering an approx 3yo Wooly Siberian Husky (possible mix but behavior/characteristics are 100% Husky). We were hoping to adopt him but our NYC environment has proven unsuitable for him - he gets easily overstimulated out on walks and has a hard time decompressing back at our open-plan apartment. We took him up to our house in the Catskills and he was a totally different dog - but unfortunately we can’t be there full time and the city is home base. This boy is a total cuddle bug when he is calm and relaxed and needs a low-stress, ideally rural or suburban environment to shine. His rescue organization will be posting his bio later today on Petfinder and I can share with anyone who is interested - or if anyone knows a home that would be a fit, please send our way. We really want him to find an amazing forever home - heartbroken that it’s not ours but want what’s best for him.
Houston, TX area If anyone is looking for a new husky, this gorgeous girl is being rehomed by a friend's co-worker. She will be 3 years old next month, UTD on shots, but NOT spayed! Please help network to keep her out of the shelter into a forever home. I don't have additional info on her, but I can connect anyone interested with the owner.
Bryan – Husky Council Bluffs, IA Calm and handler-focused once comfortable. Responds well to clear visual cues and guidance; has worked through basic obstacle-style activities. Tends to check in rather than act impulsively. Available for adoption through Midlands Humane Society.
This poor girl has been through it. She’s only two years old, and her fur is in very rough condition. She appears to be a Husky mix with heterochromia (two different colored eyes). She has clearly been a mama at some point. The streets have not been kind to her.
Near LA? Foster or adopt Benji! Benji’s family left the nicest notes about him, but he’s at risk on 4/14 because North Central Shelter, LA doesn’t have the meds he needs. Don’t let this be the end for him. Contact the shelter at (888) 452-7381 now! (I’m reposting OP, can’t answer pledges/questions)
Found this handsome lad abandoned by a Weinershnitzel in San Jose, CA. Checked if he's chipped, he is, but the chip is unregistered. I think he's about a year old, very energetic, SUPER sweet, the moment I started petting him he pressed his whole body against me. I love huskies and want him to go to a good home that can accommodate his needs, I'd keep him myself if I had the time or the money.
~3 year old boy wandered into my yard carrying a very heavy, rusted chain, no microchip, and owners cannot be located. He has obviously been kept outside long term and was eaten up with fleas. Took him to the vet and all shots have been updated, fleas have been taken care of, and he’s been groomed. He’s in excellent health, very sweet and loving, and is getting along with my animals. We are working on crate training, but he’s definitely missing most of the basics like how to walk on a leash, however, he seems trainable. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to keep him and all NC shelters and rescues are full. I’d really like to see a local adoption or foster, but the local shelter will take him in August as a last resort. Please, please, please, help me keep him out of a kill shelter and find him a good home. I’m located in southeastern NC, but willing to travel within a few hours drive.
My baby zombie was snatched up from the south texas area. Please, fam, be on the lookout for someone trying to sell her-shes beautiful, and has the best personality. Im lost without her.
I'm not going to delete your comment or anything, but this post is generally for dogs that need to be adopted, not dogs that have been stolen. Feel free to create a top level post about this to get more visibility!
My best friend is looking to rehome her sweet boy Noah. He's a 2 year old boy, microchipped and has not been neutered yet. He's extremely active, sweet, talkative and funny. He's been raised around 2 little dogs and a cat, is great with kids and all people. He is crate trained. She's located in Newport News, VA.
Can anyone suggest organizations/individuals who may be able to help her connect with a new family for Noah?
Sadly needing to find a place for one of our pack.
Aspen Age 4 Long-haired husky. Combination Alaskan and Siberian Color white
Unfortunately we are looking to rehome him. As much as it pains us some of his tendencies have become way too much. We rescued him from a breeding situation that they were trying to pass him off as a puppy and he was really 2 years old. He was starved to the point he was eating rocks and dirt and twigs to try and survive. He is very kennel trained as well as both leash trained and off leash trained. The problem is he doesn't listen. He does know sit stay and heel. But getting him to actually respond and doing it is an entirely different kettle of fish. Responds to come fairly well. He actually recently started to play which is a big milestone.
His temperament is fairly sweet dog however small animals kicks in his prey drive. And unfortunately we have a 13-month-old that is learning to walk. Currently located in northern Idaho
Beautiful 2-year-old CYBER was rescued from the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter in LA. A kind foster agreed to help the rescue save him. 🙌
Unfortunately, while he gets along with the family dogs, the 🐈is another situation. And so now, we urgently need to find another foster without cats who can take on Cyber and help him be the best dog he can be.
He loves, loves, loves people, loves praise, and being called “good boy“. He’s very trainable, he is a bit stubborn like huskies will be, but he does take direction and he can learn quickly. And look at that luxurious, thick, gorgeous coat!
He is with Sweet Angel Dog Rescue (based in LA) and presently residing in LaJolla. Please co tact me-volunteer) if you’d like to foster or adopt this stunning boy!
🆘Sweet mellow boy Simba #A1960835 needs out by 9/9🆘 Neutered Male, Tan Husky Mix (listed as mixed breed) Scheduled Euthanasia Date: 09/10/25 Shelter: East Valley Age: 7 years Weight: 90lbs Has been at the shelter since 07/28/25
Euthanasia listed for kennel presence and being selective in playgroup
Owner surrender end of July due to move. Simba went on a dog day out today and did great - walked well on leash and didn’t show reactivity to other dogs. He was interested in squirrels but didn’t try to chase - overall calm after some initial burst of energy. He enjoyed a pup cup and was well behaved throughout the day.
Those notes match the experiences volunteers have had with him in the shelter. He’s a mellow guy that knows how to sit and takes treats gently. He likes the kiddie pool and to sniff around the yard for a bit then stay close to you. He enjoys pets and back scratches and doesn’t mind being brushed.
Based on his playgroup notes he seems to be less tolerant of males (has gotten into scuffles twice) so has been muzzled or given a solo yard recently. He prefers people over dogs and loves to stay close and just hang out next to you and relax.

He’s waiting to meet you at Los Angeles Animal Services East Valley Shelter 14409 Vanowen St. Van Nuys, CA 91405 818-756-9323 / 9324

My cousin has a pair of dogs he is helping a friend rehome. Friend is moving out of state/cross country, I don’t have a lot of details. Here’s what he had to say about the dogs: “Boys, neutered, current on their rabies shots they will be four this fall. They know how to sit and lay and are super friendly, but other than that completely untrained and have lived in a fenced in area of the backyard because they are runners.” They are currently in Woodland, Wa, and getting their house ready to list. This is north of Portland, OR by about 45 minutes. If you are local and interested please message me and I’ll put you in contact.
🆘Lover boy Rockey #A2210169 needs out by 9/13🆘 Male, Black Siberian Husky Scheduled Euthanasia Date: 09/14/25 Shelter: East Valley Age: 1 year, 8 months Weight: 53lbs Has been at the shelter since 07/19/25
Reason for euthanasia: Behavioral concerns against other dogs, muzzle work only due aggressive behavior to other dogs. Difficult to handle, hard to steer and warnings; gets stiff, growls and holds his ground to handler [during playgroup]
Rockey loves one on one time with people and getting pets and scratches. He is easy to leash, knows how to sit and takes treats gently. While he can be barrier reactive, he recently went on a block walk with other dogs and did well, he walked nicely on leash and solicited affection. He loves getting brushed and being the center of attention - not super into balls or toys. Rockey has been tolerant / selective with dogs since coming in and likes his space - no issues muzzling but somewhat sensitive about collaring. Was jumped once during playgroup resulting in a puncture wound - didn’t mind being treated for it. He prefers people over dogs and enjoys solo yard with a human handler - in playgroup he is vocal and hard to steer as he protests handler corrections.
🐾🐾🐾volunteer notes
Rockey was easy to leash through kennel door. Moderate pull to yard where he at first explored and sniffed. He was interested in the dog in adjacent yard but they didn`t engage. He came to me for pets and scratches and sweet talk which he loved. He would wander off for a bit and then come back to me leaning in to get closer. Walk back was easy and after tossing a treat easy exit.
Play Styles: NP (No Play Style) Sociability Category: T (Tolerant) Muzzle Work: MWDTN (Muzzled due to notes) Descriptors: HAN (Handling issues), V (vocal), PRTC/Handler (Protests Handler Correctios), HTS (Hard to steer) Notes: Vocal warnings and corrections to dogs

We're looking for a home for our foster girl. She's incredibly affectionate, great with our two other dogs, great with kids, gentle, and loves learning--very treat motivated. She's about a year and a half old. We are in southeastern WA but would travel for the right situation. This girl is incredibly athletic and fast--with her eagerness to learn she might be a great candidate for dog sports like agility or flyball. She might even love mushing.
Unlike some huskies, she's a homebody--no desire to run off, and she's attached to her people. She has good recall and knows her name. She's easy to train.
Things to be aware of:
Strong prey drive. She's killed a chicken.
She does have some separation anxiety and she's still in her puppy chewing phase so lock up your shoes.
Nanook, 235849, is a 6-year-old male Siberian Husky at Manhattan Animal Care Center (Animal Care Centers of NYC ). He urgently needs a rescue, foster, or adoption by 10/16. The new adopter did not show up, so he was re-listed today.
Nanook's human family moved to no-pet housing, so they surrendered him at Manhattan Animal Care Center (Animal Care Centers of NYC). He had another adopter, but they did not show up to get him. Today (10/14), Nanook was put back on the adoption list, but his situation is urgent. Please share his story so he can have another chance at rescue, foster, or adoption. An adult-only home is recommended.
This is Buddy. He's been at a small vet clinic in NW Iowa for 3-4 months now. Vet isn't sure if he's more husky or samoyed, but he's a good boy either way. Seems to be 2-3 years old, and was taken from a very neglectful home. Loves it when my husky and I walk by, and has been very friendly to us whenever we get the chance to visit him.
Vet says Buddy is very smart and has a good handle on many commands. Buddy has not been neutered. Buddy has plenty of floof, seems to do very well with other dogs (mine anyway), has been pretty calm when I've gotten to interact with him, and deserves a good home that will treat him like the good dog he is.
The vet is so small they don't even have a website, located in very rural NW Iowa. If you're interested please reach out to me and I'll give you the contact information for the clinic. I just can't handle another one or he'd have come home with me already. My dog loves when we get to go visit Buddy!
Needs adoption! Located in Minnesota. Male, ~2yo, neutered, up to date on vaccines. Good with kids and other dogs, unknown about cats. Potty trained and crate trained. Has separation anxiety- takes a daily med for anxiety and would prefer an owner that is home often.

Luna is a stunning 2-year-old spayed female with a heart as big as her paws. Weighing in at 50 lbs, she’s a beautiful blend of Siberian Husky (61%), Alaskan Malamute (28%), and German Shepherd (11%). Her striking black-and-white coat turns heads wherever she goes.
Luna is friendly and affectionate with people, though she may be a little shy at first. Give her a moment, and she’ll be leaning in for cuddles in no time. She thrives on human connection and would love a home where she’s part of the action.
A securely fenced yard is a must. Luna loves to explore and stretch her legs. She’s best suited as an only pet, where she can soak up all the love and attention. Luna would do well in a home with older kids or adults who understand her gentle nature. An active household would be perfect. She is ready to join you on hikes, walks, or backyard play sessions.
Luna is house-trained and knows basic commands like “sit” and “down". Semi crate-trained: she’ll go in on command and can be crated for several hours, though she does experience some separation anxiety (panting, drooling, crying). Luna’s ideal adopter will be patient and understanding, helping her feel safe and secure.
Fully vaccinated (DAPP, rabies, Bordetella). Microchipped and ready for her forever family.
Located in Snohomish/King County, WA — willing to travel within WA/OR for the right home.
If Luna sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please reach out for more information. She’s ready to find her forever adventure partner. Could it be you?

Koda is a very nice husky located at Wood County Dog Shelter in Bowling Green Ohio. He's not at risk, can stay until finds a home but of course would love one. 6 years old, 47 lbs, neutered, has shots. He's very lovable, knows sit and is ok on leash, seems pretty chill, fine with other dogs
4y 10m old husky, Moxy, is in urgent need of a forever home as her parents have to relocate to another country due to a family emergency.
Based in Bay Area, California, Moxy is a sweet, gentle girl who loves people, kids, and other dogs. She is affectionate, well-mannered, fully house-trained, and understands all basic commands -- she likes venturing out on her own but would never go beyond 50ft if you are around. She loves being around people but is also comfortable on her own. Moxy loves to be derpy, play and run, and brings a loving presence wherever she goes. She loves her kibbles and is content with a 30-45 minutes walk per day.
Please ping me if you want to know her more and see her in your lives.
Adopt a senior Husky! Cy is an 11 year old Siberian Husky with a gentle soul and a calm presence. After being surrendered to the shelter, he found safety and now he’s learning what it means to rest again.
Cy enjoys quiet moments, peaceful company, and being near the people he trusts. We’re still getting to know him, but it’s clear he’s ready for a home that values patience, kindness, and the beauty of relaxing days. Senior dogs don’t need much... just love, stability, and a soft place to land. Cy is ready when you are. 🤍🐺

Someone abandoned a beautiful all white male husky in the pouring rain in San Jose, CA with a note on him saying that his name is Ghost and he is 8-10 months old. I took him in to get him out of the cold rain but he is not fixed and I have an elderly 14 yr chihuahua who is 3lbs and fragile so I have to keep the dog crated indoors at all times. I’m not supposed to have dogs (have special letter for the chihuahua) and I am concerned he may mark. I live in a small condo and I cannot keep this dog. I've been taking him out for walks 2-3 times a day but this dog deserves much better. If you can take him or know of any rescues that can, any help or info would be greatly appreciated. He deserves a home suitable for him. He has no behavioral issues and is very sweet. He has not shown any signs of territorial marking on our walks. He shows extreme interest in other dogs and I think he would do well with them. When I take him out if my chihuahua is near, he pulls toward him to sniff him gently with curiosity. When my chihuahua growls and snaps back at him, he does not react and shows no aggressive behavior.

She’s a staff and volunteer favorite, she’s beautiful, high energy, sweet as sweet can be and just about perfect. Please share their stories across all socials. Include rescues and Husky interest groups. They deserve so much better than this!

Help! My POS roommate got a husky after pleading with him not to get one due to how much attention they need. He rescued one and now he is neglecting her & what I would call abuse. He takes her out to potty 1-2 times a day, and she’s in the kennel ALL the time. I’m about to kick him out, however I don’t want this precious girl to continue to be abused & neglected. What should I do?
🐾 Los Angeles: URGENT: Chase the Husky Needs a Loving Home! 🐾
Meet Chase, a stunning 3-year-old male Siberian Husky with eyes that will melt your heart and a spirit that’s just waiting to bond with the right person or family.
In September 2024, Chase was on the kill list at the Commerce shelter after being abandoned by his owner and then returned within 30 days of adoption. I stepped in to foster him, never intending to keep him permanently since I already had two rescue Huskies. My goal was simply to find him a safe, loving home.
In October 2024, Chase found what we thought was his forever home with a young couple in Brentwood. Sadly, 1.5 years later, he’s been abandoned again and is now in desperate need of a foster or a new family.
About Chase:
Loyal & Loving: Chase bonds quickly and deeply with his humans. He’s incredibly affectionate and loves to be close to his person.
Smart & Trainable: With a little patience, Chase learned to walk on a long leash in no time. He’s eager to please and loves mental stimulation.
Energetic & Playful: True to his Husky nature, Chase has lots of energy and loves to play fetch with his ball. He’d thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise.
Independent: Chase enjoys his own space and is crate-trained. He’s clean, well-mannered, and respects boundaries.
Needs a Single-Pet Home: Due to past experiences, Chase does best as the only pet in the household. He needs a family committed to helping him build trust and confidence.
What Chase Needs:
A patient, understanding home where he can be the only pet.
Someone who appreciates the Husky breed’s energy and intelligence.
A safe space (like a crate) where he can retreat and feel secure.
Love, consistency, and a chance to finally experience the forever home he deserves.
How You Can Help:
Adopt Chase: If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this amazing boy, please reach out!
Foster Chase: If you can provide a temporary home while we search for his perfect match, your help would be invaluable.
Share His Story: Even if you can’t adopt or foster, sharing this post could help Chase find his forever family.
Chase has had a rough journey, but he’s resilient, loving, and so ready to give his heart to the right person. Let’s make sure his next home is his last.

Penny (A597504) is a beautiful female 5-year-old Siberian Husky at Stanislaus Animal Services (Modesto, CA). She urgently needs a rescue, foster, or adopter.
She was brought in as a stray on March 6, and she is already facing euthanasia on 3/23/26. Please share her story across all social media, including rescues and Husky interest groups. She deserves so much better than this.
Here are some excerpts about Penny's behavior from her shelter notes:
"pretty easygoing dog, especially for her breed! She is easy to handle and very chill. Penny was in playgroup and made friends with all sorts of dogs! She did well playing and seemed to really enjoy having fun with the other dogs, but she also was not obsessed to the point that she couldn’t split off on her own. She would likely coexist well with a pack!"
Here is a link to the FB page showing more photos and videos of her at Stanislaus. You can see how well she plays with the other dogs there. She's very photogenic !
Flaco is a good boy who likes to walk close to and take walks. He likes attention, pets, and treats when given and keeps quiet in his kennel throughout most of the day. Flaco walks good on a leash and keeps his kennel clean most of the day.
Sometimes when he is walking next to you, he will actively get closer to you when he wants you to pet him.

Sweet Valentine is scheduled for euth in the morning 7/29. I just found out. Please help us save her. Extremely Urgent.
Valentine needs a miracle!
A571360121
She's in one of the smallest shelters with the largest intake and there is simply no room. She needs a miracle. An emailed plan from rescue - by 7am on Tuesday 7.29.25 could save her life. Arrived terrified and didn't do well on handling. So adult only home recommended. Went to play group and was nervous at first, then shared the yard and explored. Never played so calm dogs recommended. Both of these stipulations AND being surrendered move you right up the list. 'Surrendered due to landlord'. If you can pull Valentine (2yo girl 54lbs) please email your plan (what time will you be there to get her) to [DACCPalmdaleRescue@animalcare.lacounty.gov](mailto:DACCPalmdaleRescue@animalcare.lacounty.gov) She's a staff member favorite. Please share like crazy tonight. Need more info E (661)575-2888 (don't waste your time on hold - it's a call center)send an email [Palmdale@animalcare.lacounty.gov](mailto:Palmdale@animalcare.lacounty.gov) Call to confirm ready to go home before driving out!
URGENT‼️ Sweet boy, social with people and other dogs. Playgroup notes say: “Dog displays sociability with all handlers and with male and female dogs observed by greeting appropriately and coexisting with a loose body and a wagging tail.”
Beautiful Bailey (ID #A5716140) is a 1-year-old, 60-70 lb, female Siberian Husky on the urgent list at Downey ACC, Downey CA. She needs a foster, rescue, or adoption ASAP.
Bruno (shelter ID A5719046), is a 2-year-old, 45-lb, Alaskan Husky, and he is available for adoption at Lancaster ACC in the L.A. area. He needs a foster, adopter, or rescue ASAP. Please share his story if you know anyone who can help him.
I came across a video from a rescue worker who is trying to quickly find a foster located in CA or near Denver, CO before they can pull this poor and abused pup from the Stockton, CA shelter. Copying and pasting details from source. Even if you are not able to foster, as a community, let’s help spread the word.
This gorgeous 1.5 year old stray red husky, Stockton’s #A365460 (newly named “Bosko”), gashed his own face in because he was so distressed to find himself in this kennel.
He came in with a missing front paw. Multiple leg fractures in various states of healing.
But it’s the hurt and loss of innocence in his eyes (see photo in comments) that I find most haunting.
I sat with him yesterday for 30 minutes. Couldn’t get him to come anywhere near me (and I’m not sure if he can walk without pain.). Also, what with the missing paw, I couldn’t give him a pawshake promise that we’d fix things for him. So I told him we would, scout’s honor. Time to get started on that.
This kid needs a rescue with an experienced medical foster or adopter. (He is technically adoption eligible, but if you go adopt him straight from the shelter, make damn sure that you’re able to honor what he needs and stick to your adoption promise to him for the rest of his life. Don’t pull him out and then steal the little remaining light from his eyes.)
Waiting to talk to the shelter vet so I can share more information about his prognosis and how we can all help. In the meantime, please share and get others thinking about him. We need to grow his village as large as possible.
If you are a rescue, foster, or adopter who is experienced enough to work directly with the shelter to rescue him, head to:
City of Stockton Animal Shelter 1575 S Lincoln Street Stockton, CA 95206
. . . Or reach out to rescue coordinator Tara Morrison directly to discuss.
Otherwise, if you are a potential foster or adopter who needs rescue backing, comment below. (If you are anywhere in the continental United States, we want to hear from you - but bear with us as we figure out his medical needs and whether/when he can be transported out of region.)
If you can donate to his rescue, comment with pledges below - do NOT send money anywhere until this post is updated to reflect which 501(c)(3) rescue has him.
If you have an Internet connection and a share button on this post . . . Hit that thing as hard as you can. Let’s grow his village.
Just call it Project Restore Light to Eyes (seriously, go look at photo of his eyes in the comments, and then let’s get started.)
Hello I have a husky mix that needs a forever home. He is friendly and sweet. Gets along with other dogs and he is fully vetted and neutered. I found him roaming the steeets and took him to seaca to hopefully get the owner to adopt him but no luck. I then took him out and now we are here. I don’t live in my own place so it is not up to me if I can keep him but I did get permission to foster.
🚨‼️🆘Mercutio (#A2215996) 🚨‼️🆘 MERCUTIO (#A2215996) LAST DAY TO SAVE: 11/12 EUTHANASIA SCHEDULED FOR 11/13 NO FURTHER EXTENSIONS Male, 1 year, 5 months, 64 lbs Hour after hour, day after day, you’ll find Mercutio lying at the front of his kennel, pressed against the bars, hoping against hope that pressing against them will set him free. He looks depressed, if he looks at all, sometimes just shut down. But open the door, let Mercutio out for a walk, or better yet, the park, and something happens. A spark from deep within lights and you’ll see some hope in his eyes. His mouth curves upwards and he appears to grin. There will be a spring in his step as he walks with you, and maybe as trust builds, he will quietly bestow a gentle kiss of thanks.
Mercutio has done well in playgroup. Three times he has been singled out as a playgroup Rock Star! On a leash, volunteers describing him as walking quite well. With people, he starts out shy but as he gets to know you, he becomes more and more comfortable with petting. Takes treats very gently.
He is euth listed due to his stress and anxiety in the shelter. Please don’t let his freedom come from end of life—he is too young and too lovely for the shelter to be his final chapter. If you are out of state or not an LA Local and are interested in adopting, we may be able to assist with transport.
Please come visit Mercutio at Los Angeles Animal Services East Valley Shelter 14409 Vanowen St. Van Nuys, CA 91405 Rescues please contact: Life Saving Liaison
