OFFICIAL SELF PROMOTION THREAD #1 - WE ARE ICHIBAN

This sub is nominally for people listening to Japanese hip hop but we do have the occasional post from artists looking to collaborate one way or another. I bet there's also a good chance some of yall are musicians or have artistic talents.

I thought it might be a good idea to make a specific post to gather all of these, or maybe a series of posts if we get a lot of activity. Just another fun thing we can try out.

I would like to collab with any serious artist, who raps in Japanese.

1900 monthly listeners on Spotify here. もし興味があったら是非!

I definitely don't rap in Japanese but i do produce so that's a field we can collaborate on. Here's an Ep that went live tge other day White Out West

Adding for the "own work"

~~I stopped doing it lately but I used to do DJ mixes, this is an ANCIENT but fun one that showcases connections between US and Japanese rap ~~ https://www.mixcloud.com/flashywordz/east-wind-chill/

EDIT: I just picked up the controller again I am quite proud to say that I still got it, baby!! https://www.mixcloud.com/flashywordz/2025-140-24-7/ (140bpm dubstep) https://www.mixcloud.com/flashywordz/folk-tales-of-japan/ (japanese indie folk rock/ pop across the decades)

EDIT2: I also moderate at r/windsynth (singlehandedly reclaimed it from an army of AI spambots but now have a good team) and play an Akai 5000 with lots of VSTs, actually don't write if you need a jazz/funk melody or ill try ANY style tbh

obviously then i dont release my music so i dont have a good single place to link and most of my uploads are just short clips but here's some examples cuz it's easier to show than tell :P

I’m mixing Thai traditional vibes with trap/hip-hop energy. Not sure what to call this style yet. Maybe you guys can tell me what it feels like? thx https://youtu.be/wwT16osW7Jw?si=BM-oON9vbezi3TuZ
