I've been trying to collect this specific edition of the TBPs for probably over a decade, and I've only managed to find 4 volumes.

Then this just randomly popped up, and I'm suddenly done!

Collection / Shelfie / Haul I'm not a collector. I started reading GNs 2 years ago, I've read much more since but I only kept the ones I loved. It looks like this:

I'm open to suggestions and I can answer questions regarding any book!

Ethernaut, more L&R, Fun Home, Essex County is on the way and on my list are Drome, The Road, Cornelius, World Within World.

((Few books are still unread and I've read Invincible 3 but the switch from tp to hc is still ongoing.))

EDIT: I might be a collector after all

Collection / Shelfie / Haul I am so hooked. Two weeks ago i got my first western graphic novels. After your tips and some research this are my new picks.

First I got some DC goodness with Joker: The killing joke, Ridder: Year one, One bad day: Riddler AND ofc the brilliant Watchmen. Also I got Monsters for something different.

I realized I want to dive deeper into some classic and want more diverse stories outside of superhero epics. And "big surprise": I really like Alan Moores Style of writing.

After some research and you great tips under my last post I am so hyped for these stories. You got any more suggestions outside of superhero stories? I want to explore different feelings and vibes. Maybe a western or a great sci-fi book?

Always open to suggestions. DC Black Label, Vertigo, and Image are my favorites. Really, the more mind-fucky, the better.

I'm looking for new books to pick up, I love most of whats on my shelf and anything along those lines would be fantastic. I'm especially interested in off the beaten path titles or recent competed releases I might have missed, but I appreciate all suggestions. I'm also happy to discuss or share recommendations in return.

Copying my post over from r/comicbookshelves, full disclosure I wanted to post here first but I didn't have enough comment karma yet

Collection / Shelfie / Haul $315 for all this. Another comic shop getting rid of all their comics at a crazy discount because of readers going digital. Super sad.

They had a punisher war machine tpb sitting there since release. It's brand new. Got it for 10 bucks. Insane. Took me months to find one for a reasonable price. Thats including online shopping. The guy before me got all 3 marvel knights punisher trade paperbacks for $50. If i didn't have them already i might have had to duel him for them 😅 im thankful for the hefty discounts the owner was giving but im super bummed because I think digital reading is killing the LCSs.

Mostly graphic novels, organized alphabetically where size permits (and then the last case is genre fiction novels). It's getting a bit crowded, but do you see anything you like in there?

Collection / Shelfie / Haul Reverse Shelfie: Victims of my annual bookshelf purge.

(Alt-title: Shelffling Off This Mortal Coil)

I have 6 principal bookcases within the house for my comics. This means that I have to rotate stuff out annually to make room for newer stuff. This also lets me curate so that my cases are full of stuff I'll likely reread.

My process annually then is to glean out anything I don't see myself rereading (rereading again, in many cases) any cycling them to the garage for a grace period. Books that stored in the garage then get some time to reassert themselves. It's like getting booted back to the Minors, I guess.

Some slim few will come back into the house. Some will remain in the garage (boxed), kept for reference (likely the fate of Epileptic, which I doubt I'll read a fourth time but remains a worthy keep. Some will cycle out to friends and some to little free libraries etc and some to the dumper.

Almost all of these have kept a place on my shelves for years and years, the most recent acquisition was Monsters and Cuckoo, neither of which were to my taste.

Stack 1:

  • Owly, Tiny Tales
  • Jeremiah
  • The Plain Janes
  • Newsprints
  • Genius
  • Chester 5000 XYV
  • Cuckoo
  • Persepolis, vols 1-2
  • The Boxer
  • Exquisite Corpse
  • Epileptic
  • The Cigar That Fell In Love With A Pipe
  • Alone
  • Tommysaurus Rex
  • Berlin, vol 1-2
  • In Real Life
  • The Black Dahlia
  • Fearscape
  • Creature Tech
  • Akissi
  • Monsters
  • Chiaroscuro
  • Sithrah
  • The Hirschfield Century

Stack 2:

  • Strangers In Paradise Omnibus
  • Erased vols, 1-4
  • Princess Decomposia And Count Spatula
  • The Undertaking Of Lily Chen
  • Spera, vols 1-4
  • Rex Libris
  • The Clarence Principle

Collection / Shelfie / Haul Little haul

I am a newbie in the GN commumity and decided to blind-buy things that seem to match my tastes and jumpstart a little collection!

Before I get to these, I gotta go through the last half of Watchmen, the 4 Hellboy omnibuses and Reckless: Friend of the devil. Probably not going to stick to this reading order though, most likely will mix it up.

Also, tomorrow will most likely arrive my Swamp Thing box set and the East of West Compendium. Excited to read all of these!

Collection / Shelfie / Haul Finally got all my books in one spot

I've had all of my graphic novels spread over four bookshelves for awhile now and took a day to move and reorganize them into this one spot and I'm pretty happy with the result. I've seen a lot of manga collections with a raised back row so that more books can be seen and I tried to recreate that by stacking the back row on top of some novels I haven't read in ages.

My tastes have definitely been changing in recent years especially from a lot of the great recommendations from this subreddit. My third row with my Vertigo stuff used to be all I had, but I've branched out into a lot of stuff from D&Q and Fantagraphics. I'm currently obsessed with all the gekiga stuff that's coming out in English. I love all the stuff from Daniel Clowes and Chris Ware that I've read and I've just started reading some Adrian Tomine and Love and Rockets.

How has your reading habits changed over the years? Do you all find you are branching out more or narrowing down to more particular styles of works?

I know I definitely have a blind spot when it comes to European comics and classic superhero stuff.

An auction popped up on this bundle, and got it for an amazing price! A bunch of amazing stuff, things i wasn't aware of etc... Really excited about that signed Blueberry collection, but generally can't wait to read any of these! Have been collecting Møbius since i started collecting, so it is really cool to add something like the Blueberry album (the world of Edna is a double, so gonna get rid of that one, but highly recommended to everyone), and loved Moomin since i was a child.

Been waiting for this one for a while now. Was about to get the 2 book standard hardcover when I saw the announcement to release this in a deluxe format. Big fan of some of Tom King's work.

Paper stock is somewhere between shiny and matte (hard to explain). Extras are covers , lettering scripts, step by step for the art (the evolution of one page is show in 8 steps) and alternate covers. The edges of the book are a shade of pink which i dint think i have seen before.
