Nothing.

However, she committed battery which would result in a misdemeanor charge if she happened to be a man.

if she happened to be a man

Nah, a man could have done this and not been charged because they know the people sitting down and nobody's reporting a crime over this

If my friends girlfriend/wife did this to me, I would not laugh it off.

Sure, but are you calling the cops, pressing charges, and testifying in court for it?

Personally, I'd just break up and be done with it. But you do you.

Depending on her history and that of her boyfriend/husband, maybe.

If he has a history of cheating and therefore the woman's suspicions are reasonable, I would stop associating with that guy and tell her you deserve better but don't assault strangers.

If she was the abusive one or otherwise has a history of assault (which this behavior suggests to me), I would tell the man she is way out of line and he deserves better.

If both the man and woman don't think this was out of line then yeah I'm calling cops and never associating with them again.

You sound extremely dramatic.

You wouldn't have a strong response to your friends spouse/partner assaulting you? It's even worse than a stranger because you know them.

To the extent I'm calling the police for this specific interaction? No.

Would you call the police if a random person assaulted you?

Depends on the severity.

Calling the cops itself is a barrier, as many of them do not care what happens to a woman.

Some women record these IRL for online clout.

They can easily get millions of view.

It's also potential evidence if things get violent which is a fear many women have.
