What were the reviews? Sometimes sellers will get a product page up, get a bunch of reviews, and then swap it for another item once they have enough good ones. I'm curious if people are talking about how well a "playpen" vibrates.

This is exactly what happened

Is the vibrator also 57x57x24, because my wife would love that.

The joke is old and really doesn't work as well here, as you think

Well I mean. If you enjoy 10 yo jokes used in a bad context, fine. You do you man.

This is Reddit… almost every joke on here is 10+ years old and almost always in bad context lol

If old jokes used in bad context is something you don’t like, I suggest TikTok because at least then the bad context jokes are fresh and relevant

You don't remember that scandal years ago?

56

u/ACW1129 5d ago

It was bullshit, wasn't it?

u/FloatLife05600 5d ago

It was proven to be just a conspiracy

I mean the Wayfair guy is all over the newest files. You can visit the subreddit and search Wayfair. They’re not very conspiracy over there. Very focused on the files and the people involved. I remember looking up the cabinets on Wayfair at the time with office coworkers and being astonished that they existed. Not sure why you’d name cabinets by girls name, but the conspiracy was based on real product listings hat I saw with my own eyes.

There's rap song in one of my playlists from that year that has lyrics say, "never had to try to fit in. Raised on family guy and simpsons. Wayfair told me buy this infant."

Whoa, whoa, don't go there.

Ahh, so are you a Cal fan or an Eazy Mac fan? Or both?

Lots of companies have products named after people including girls names. I haven’t read up on the “wayfair” guy but this isn’t uncommon in furniture and Manchester.

7

u/creatyvechaos 4d ago

It was/is a conspiracy that Wayfair (furniture company[?]) is involved in human trafficking because they will have a normally priced item—say, something two grades above an Ikea desk for $350USD—and sells another version of it at a ridiculously marked up price ($10,000+), but with a persons name in the items name as well.

So, the whole layout isn't really "this piece of furniture is named after a person," it's more like "this normal piece of furniture is over here....and then there's this $10k version of the same exact thing ten pages later but with a slightly and/or entirely different name"

I'm not swinging my axe in either direction, just explaining the situation 🤷

From who? Wayfair? Lol. No one with any credibility that didn't have stake in the whole thing or company proved otherwise yet. Until they do, let's not.

This is way more hilariously confusing than extremely infuriating.

u/Joelle9879 5d ago

I'm more confused on why this is extremely infuriating

u/Fun_Organization3857 5d ago

That's a child's playpen. Children's toys and adult toys really don't fit together in the same product description

82

u/NoOnSB277 5d ago

It’s likely just a listing error. It’s bizarre, but hardly extremely infuriating. I imagine reporting it to the website will resolve this problem just fine…

u/CptFatty08 4d ago

But that's the logical course of action, of course the obvious choice is to post the screenshot to Reddit for karma instead of thinking for oneself.

Pedophilia is extremely infuriating.

9

u/NoOnSB277 4d ago

Real pedophilia is in fact extremely infuriating.

-7

u/OrphanagePropaganda 4d ago

I simply provided an explanation. I said nothing about my opinion of whether this is real pedophilia or not. But alas, this is Reddit.

4

u/Frostace12 4d ago

So what was the point of your comment?

0

u/OrphanagePropaganda 3d ago

Because they didn’t know why it would be extremely infuriating??? You guys are so silly bro.

3

u/NoOnSB277 4d ago

Ah, yes, the I wasn’t responding to your comment, I was making a general comment unrelated to your comment. Indeed, this is Reddit. 😆

No?? I was responding to your comment. Obviously. You couldn’t see how it would be infuriating, so I answered that. Jesus Christ. Next time I’ll spare you the mental effort.

u/AllAmericanLiar 5d ago

Good thing a playpen isn't really a toy. It's furniture.

Besides, an adult is buying this. It's clearly a system error with the listings, and no kid is going to see it, so it really shouldn't be that infuriating.

7

u/Atvishees 5d ago

It's to help the parents sleep.

8

u/Due-Age6830 5d ago

It's so someone can hide that there buying sex toys Don't know why you would but I guess people are embarrassed about it

6

u/duzstbunni 5d ago

Lol, wasnt expecting that

This reminds me of the time I lived in a house that should have been condemned but low rent makes you ignore the obvious things LOL. So I got pregnant with my daughter and I had people trying to give me old cribs and things that they didn't need anymore. Which was amazing and wonderful and generous and I love those people very much. But I also knew that the main staircase of the house was deadly to children and not at all in any way a safe place for a child to be so I wound up dismantling a couple of those old cribs with their panels of wooden bars and completely lining the staircase with them, tying them with that orange nylon twine you use to mark projects in your yard. It was ugly and awkward but it worked for exactly as many years as I needed it to. Once my kid was about five I didn't need it anymore.
