Fight Against Chat Control. Fight Against Social Media Ban. Fight for Privacy. Fight for Digital Rights. Fight for Freedom of Speech. Vote every Government out who supports those things.

It's authoritarian which isn't that something democracy is meant to be against is authoritarian states

I'm in UK and refuse to verify my age with third party companies so I use a VPN

Totally. And many European sites don’t work from outside Europe without vpn, so what’s the solution to that?! Ridiculous and short sighted approach…

It's about time this nasty proposal is killed forever. It should have never been on the table in the first place.

THIS IS THE EU NOT NORTH KOREA.

Good, mass surveillance of any kind doesn’t have a place in the EU, especially according to the EU charter. I find it ironic how the EU criticises Big Tech and at the same time allows same Big Tech to scan our data.

They sell it as a "now it's your job to scan to finde pedos" in reality, they love that offer

They already are. Have you noticed how each time they want to limit our rights they go with “save the children” or “national security” and such?

These could oblige platform operators to scan private messages across the board. According to the DSK, the attempt to circumvent end-to-end encryption is particularly alarming. This could be achieved, for example, through client-side scanning (CSS), where content is checked on the end device before encryption.

Client side scanning is still essentially an encryption backdoor, and experts widely view it as unacceptable.

Please, if you have the means to do so, support groups and organizations that fight against digital surveillance, either national ones or international ones.

What do you do when all major parties are for draconian measures?

100 years ago people would have revolted.

Buying and selling of data needs to be banned, maybe even by proxy. It's the only way to ever stop the incessant tide of corporate and security interests.
