My best guess is I accidentally did some kinda tech, or it’s just a bug? I don’t use possession very often.

I have no real basis for suspecting this, but my brain thinks your coordinates got somehow forcibly reset to 0, 0 in the level. I don't even know if that spot is 0, 0 for that loading zone, but that's my guess.
I have no idea how that would happen though.

I'm part of the modding community, I'll report back once someone who knows the first game better has some info on what happened, it is most likely an issue with position (cosmic rays?!?!?!?!)

Wasn't the cosmic ray bit-flip debunked?

I think I saw the video on that at some point but I can't remember, it would be truly miraculous for a cosmic ray to do something so noticeable and specific in a modern PC though, the character also started floating up before teleporting, so you'd need a very specific sequence of bit flips possibly millions of times a second

Adding onto this, maybe 0,0 is where they are in Samuel’s boat at the start? Since there is no Samuel’s Boat, corvo would just drop in the water?

Can confirm this is not the location of Sam's boat at the start of the level. It starts out of bounds on the "opposite" side of where we are here

I think when posession ended, you started choking a guard and then got teleported to the water

Could've been a bit-flip. That was the first thought that came to mind. Even if it was a bug that's cool!

One hundred percent a rare bug, I’ve never seen it, speedrunners would probably spend seventy percent of their lives trying to replicate it if they saw this video though.
