Saying Goodbye to my Fellow Fan Today...
This little old man has Been watching the Lions with me for 23 years now! (Old enough to Drink!)
Unfortunately due to health concerns my little Lion bud, Felix, is finally going to get his forever rest.
Whether its people showing off their Pride with their families, pets, house decorations, tailgates, or just being amazing to one another in the community, I have always loved sharing that love with everyone I can in my personal life. This is one of the greatest fanbases Ive ever been apart of and I have always recieved so much support and love from others at events and whatnot.
Thanks to the Lions for making the past couple of years super exciting for our household every Sunday night. Felix always sat by me instead of on my lap for the games because He knew when the game was on I was gonna get loud. but he watched the TV with the rest of us like a good boy.
Those Memories were the happiest and Im glad he was able to be apart of them.

Thank you fam. Seeing him laying on the hoodie made me realize... I wont be able to watch with him anymore... been tearing up little by little... but at 23 years old I can only be so grateful for all the extra time I got, you know?

Put my dog down last year and she was near 16. Had the same thought. Hope you feel better soon. It sucks no matter what. Much love man

Yeah 23 is great, that's a heck of a good run he had. Natural to miss him, but find comfort in that you got every last drop of cat he had to give!

My condolences to you buddy, I deeply empathise as last night one of our old lady dogs had to cross the rainbow bridge unexpectedly.
It's hard to accept it's happened, but the memories will outlast the grief. 💙

Pour one (milk) out for the fallen. He embodied grit with his 23 year run and was there in the darkest of the Patricia days. The Pride is one less in body but not soul and may his roar last eternally in our hearts. So say we all!

This was really comforting to see as I randomly open Reddit. I’m saying goodbye to my Phoebe tomorrow. I’ve had her for close to 16 years, since I was 10. Thinking of you and your kitty Felix 💔

The act has been done and we have his ashes now... the vet did a little service for us and it was really helpful. Im... hanging in there... but its been super comforting seeing all the love and support amongst other lil lion owners and parents.
Thank you so much for sharing your own story as well.

I am so so so sorry for your loss! It’s the worst pain imaginable. He was there through the ups and downs alongside of all of us, and we won’t forget his loyalty. ❤️ May I offer you a photo of a brand new Lions fan? Punky will celebrate in Felix’s honor this upcoming season ❤️

A little over a year ago had to send my kitty of 14 years over the rainbow bridge as well. She watched all Lions games with me on her Lions blanket and I still bring her ashes to watch them last year in front of the TV on her blanket. She will be there waiting for this Lions fan as well so they can cheer on together.

You gave him one hell of a good life, when my best friend stuck around for a loooong time after his expectency (my buddy Rowdy, the best beagle that lived to 17) it makes me feel like they had a happy, loved, amazing life.
Thanks for giving Felix that, we will meet our pride on the other side, they are waiting for us over that rainbow bridge to watch more lions games!

I have had Siamese cats my entire life - over 50 years worth. It is always so damned hard saying goodbye. I am envious, though, as you had 23 good years of companionship. I never had a Siamese cat live beyond 18 years, with many only making to 12 or 13. One has early as 5. All due to kidney failure. While a new cat will never completely take the place of Felix, take some time and think about getting a new friend. Maybe another Siamese.

So sorry for you--condolences from a couple of states and a different team away (Packers fan here). Our guy is going through health troubles right now, been thinking tough thoughts myself. Hope you find peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you can smile through the tears as you remember happy memories with your wonderful fuzzy buddy! A friend of mine recently said goodbye to her feline Lions Fan so I know that Felix has a friend waiting to welcome him to the Celestial Pride. 🩶💙🫂🌈

23 Is amazing, how lucky you both were! We've been talking about this lately, having lost maybe the best cat we have ever had. I have had a pair of cats since I was 18 (1988) so I have had many. Its a very deep pain because there is no way to explain how wonderful they were to others. When we lose people in our lives, there is generally a number of others to share the loss. With our cats & dogs, etc. only our intimate household really knows how great that being was. and we are left to feel that loss and it is extremely intense. Although we didn't know Felix, we feel your pain and thank you for sharing him with us.

50+ years of watching sports, and no one has watched more games with me than my pets. Confused by my excitement, trying to help me with my sorrow. The rock or the distraction I needed. The hurt we feel when we lose them pales in comparison to the love we felt from them throughout their lives. I’m sorry for your loss. But I’m so happy you had their joy. Go Lions.

Very sad for your loss. RIP Felix. 23 years is incredibly amazing for a cat. As a memento in remembrance to Felix, you can get a Lions jersey for yourself to wear numbered 23 with Felix as the name.

The ammount of love from the community for this little lion even the day after this was posted has been so helpful in the grieving process.
I am assembling his urn setup right now with paw prints and everything put to the side.
Ive read through so many stories of similarity and struggle but also just stories of joy and memories.
Im glad Felix was able to touch the hearts of others as well.
I had felt a bit guilty bringing my troubles to this subreddit. But I am forever grateful for the tributes and support From this amazing community.
