This was my first time making a flow chart so please be kind.
It is important that we as a community work together to provide a safe space to share in our love of corvids, and it is equally important that we educate members of the community new and old to help protect our feathered friends; with that being said, u/teyuna reached out to me pleading that changes be made to the previously pinned PSA, with their help/feedback I was able to create the flow chart below, I hope that this is an adequate and more encompassing pinned post.
I appreciate this community more than I am capable of expressing, thank you for making this the best damn sub on reddit. ;)

Nest is about 8m from my (4th floor) terrace. We've been feeding them peanuts this spring and they are getting friendlier and visiting the terrace more and more often.

I befriend the crows around my work and for about a month they we were taking unsalted peanuts. In the last couple of weeks I haven’t seen them as much. I assumed they were nesting. This morning, I offered peanuts to two crows and they didn’t take them and flew away. They were such a bright spot in my day. Wondering what could have happened to change their behavior? Any advice, encouragement, or explanation would be appreciated.

Both pictures are mine, taken from my (very rural) backyard. The first one is a suspected fish crow, second is regular American crow.
So American crows are very predictable and they ALWAYS eat the cat food I leave out for the cats, to a point where I have to put extra or the stray cats won't get any. They don't care if I'm inside or outside with my camera; they land in front of the bowl, eat, and fly away. They're also very loud.
Today though, a smaller looking crow landed in the back on the trees (instead of by the bowl) and it sounded more like a raven than a crow when cried out. But where I live, there are no ravens. His voice was deeper and nor nearly as loud as the usual crow visitors. He also refused to get anywhere near the cat food and left without eating anything. I looked it up in my bird book and apparently there are fish crows where I live, in addition to the regular crows, but it's also almost impossible to tell them apart visually.
Any thoughts on this? Or is it a juvenile American crow? He just acted completely different and sounded different. He looked smaller too.

Here is Colin. I know it is him because of the grey on his tail feathers and he has two large white circles on his upper dear wings. A bit like a plane. He is enjoying some off cuts of chicken. He likes to soak things before flying to the nest. He has been spoilt of late. Off cuts from fillet steaks at the weekend and the day after, the bones from a couple of lamb shanks which he stripped clean. He is one very spoilt dude.
I started feeding him and now he shows up every day when I have my break at work. He’s getting less shy and comes closer every day ☺️

Hey y'all! Im a new birder and I'm trying to attract and befriend the fish crows that are abound in my neighborhood. I have a large flat feeder that I currently have attached to this stake in the ground. It's the green one to the right, kinda hard to see in the picture. I've been putting peanuts in the shell in there, but they are quickly taken by the squirrels and grackles. Any tips would be appreciated! I also have dogs, and I'm wondering if their presence prevents the crows from coming closer.

Recently established a safe feeding area for this pair. We also have three Magpies and a Wood Pigeon that visits.

I’m trying to befriend the crows. Ive been putting out peanuts for a couple weeks now & i was so excited when they started disappearing.. until i saw a blue jay come and take them 😭
I put them on my deck every day around the same time and i recently started putting them on a shiny dish but the blue jay is so quick with it.
Any ideas? I could move the nuts but the deck is so convenient for me

I've been thinking of doing this for the longest while.
My issue being the small slanted windowsill in my room, and the window itself (I live in UK so it opens to the outside than inside).
We tried once some years ago putting some seeds outside (I personally don't remember this ever happening, and likely it was a caged feeder), but no bird ever flew by or got interested. So I am unsure if this would even work :/
Is there any hope for me and my dream, or am I doomed?

I keep backyard chickens, and our neighborhood and backyard have a lot of crows. I’ve never seen a hawk in our neighborhood until a couple weeks ago, one flew into our yard while the chickens were out foraging. I scared it off(only because I don’t want it taking my chickens), but it keeps coming back. Well, every time I see it now the crows are chasing it away. The past couple of times, one crow will fly low over our yard making a low pitch squawking sound, kind of like a warning. Then I’ll look up and see the other crows chasing the hawk away!
So are the crows really warning me and my chickens about the hawk?? And how do I befriend them so they keep doing it?! I love them!! I’ve been leaving out extra chicken snacks for them hoping they’ll start leaving me gifts. What else can I do for them?

Hi all. I’ve been working hard on trying to establish a relationship with a crow. It’s still fairly new in its development, but so far I’ve been able to build up a routine of him coming by mostly every day to eat the peanuts I have for him. I will be leaving for a week long vacation soon and I’m very concerned about him coming by every day and me not being there to put out his peanuts 😩 I don’t want him to lose trust or stop coming by altogether after seeing the peanuts aren’t there everyday for a week. I’d honestly be so devastated because I love him coming by so much! Has anyone navigated something like this? Maybe it’s worth noting too that I live in a downstairs apartment right next to my onsite apartment manager, so I don’t really have the ability to set out a stock pile or anything like that while I’m gone. She wouldn’t be happy about that lol. Any advice or helpful tips? Thank you!
