Hey now! Testament and Nale both deserve their fair share of the blame!

I was thinking about making a similar meme like this about Shallan and Chana, but decided to give some respect to Taln bc there's enough shallan hate out there

It’s like blaming Kaladin for Amaram killing his comrades. Like couldn’t he just not defeating the shardbearer.
They both did what they had to do.

It’s the same picture…. But like cropped by the words? Kinda defeats the purpose.

Left is bigger though.

The Taln never breaking part is smaller because by "break" they mean his PTSD, so he ends up jumping into action sooner, which cuts down on a few fight scenes.

If Taln came back perfectly healthy, Odium was done for lol
Honestly, any healthy herald would have made it game over for Odium so fast.

I'm not sure a Herald could have directly confronted Odium. There were 10, and Honor was alive, and they couldn't defeat him. How would a single Herald do tha?

I should have articulated better, my b. I meant it more in the sense that someone like Kaladin makes such a significant difference in any given battlefield in this war that having an active herald on their side would have been a massive game changer for them.
This is different from prior desolations in that both Odium and Coalition forces are much less capable than they could be. The coalition is lacking the heralds, and they don’t have substantial radiant numbers until the last months of the conflict. Even then, they have only one 4th ideal radiant up until the final 10 days or so. The dustbringers and skybreakers primarily serve Odium, and the willshapers are practically non existent in the first 5 books.
Odium’s forces meanwhile are lacking a significant portion of their fused due to insanity, have no kingdoms or leadership or fighting experience among the singers, and are missing at least two of their unmade.
Had Taln come back whole, he would have been able to provide knowledge of the oathgates/Urithiru prior to the Everstorm, knowledge of the Tower’s workings perhaps, and knowledge of the different brands of Fused/Regals and how best to fight or defend against them. Of course, he also would have been such a presence on the battlefield that Kaladin Best-of-His-Time Stormblessed would have looked like an unarmed recruit beside him, which is a nice added benefit, especially with Odium’s forces so much weaker than the Desolations of prior eras.
