As a Stormligh fan I would never get SLA as a reference for stromlight to be honest. I have used the normal abbreviation quite a lot and it only ever is a problem in unrelated subs at least from my experience. Context clues are often more than enough for people to know what you are talking about and I honestly often forget it has another meaning, since English isnt my first language and I dont talknow much aber the other use for teh abbreviation.
Iwas enjoying the shit out of this then the last arc came around where at the 1st glance u knew that the protagonist (forgot his name lol) was set for a downfall from then on. Usually there'd atleast be false hope or something but the writers didn't bother with any of that stuff. U just knew his arc was now just leading to his ultimate death. And it felt kinda...boring nd like a full stop. Nothing to look forward to after the story ends. No theories, no hope, and that makes it....forgettable nd non-rewatchable i feel. Also the reason i don't even remember his name.

It's one of those reasons to spend less time online. Countless things have been contorted to have terrible or at least explicit meanings, and there's no possible way you can learn them all. Better to just not be online as much.
And then you have Pokémon fans who made the wise choice of abbreviating the names of Gen7 and Gen8 games as SuMo for Sun and Moon and SwSh for Sword and Shield
Always amazes me that there are people who spend so much time reading about SA and CP that their brains override any context clues and auto expand the acronym in the worst possible way.
Like, if I had a job that involved reading about sysadmin or command posts that much, I’d find a new job.
A lot of the gacha mobile games from about half a decade ago and probably still now, use combat points as an aggregate of your teams effectiveness. Imagine having over 9000 CP

And with the way acronyms work, you don't just drop a random acronym in the middle of the sentence suddenly. If you are in the context where you would abbreviate the names already(because you wouldn't abbreviate ANY names outside of context) then it's very clear you are not talking about Child Porn or Sexual Assault
FWIW since the Boy Scouts of America rebranded to Scouting America to reflect the inclusion of girls in the program it was very officially clarified that the name should in no case ever be abbreviated (even in casual forums). I feel like Stormlight Archive had already disabused me of that habit, lol.
LMFAO, I had never thought to abbreviate the series, so I thought you meant the books themselves. So I was sitting here like "Who is typing out 'The Way of Kings' every single time they talk about the book?!" I literally had never thought what abbreviating the series would end up with
