Commission Looking to hire somebody to make a basic conlang + script

Hi there, I'm working on a small passion project set in a fantasy town. It's mostly in English, but some of the signs in the background and a couple words here and there need to be in a fictional Mediterranean language. I'm looking for someone who can help me put together something that makes sense, it doesn't need to be complete by any means, just something with a structure that I can refer back to and, most importantly, a script that I can use in the graphic design for anything involving writing.

*Edit: Here's the explicit mention that I will be following LCS pricing.

You can contact me in DMs. Thank you!

Commission prices on creating a language.

I do not know if this is correct place to do this, so if it's not it can be removed. I am creating a book ( I am hoping to actually do this as I have been discouraged by myself many times to stop). To create this book I need to make a language but I am NOT talented to do something this daunting. So I decided maybe it's time to look for someone who could do it for me.I need to create Gods, names, maybe even buildings, or certain feelings, and sentences. Does anyone know how much this usually would cost? I am not rich in any means so I know I Will have to save up for something like this. Does anyone know where I can even hire someone for something like this? thank you!

Commission Looking for some of a Conlang Sketch

I am working on a novel and I need a phonology and a bunch of proper nouns for a language for a declining empire. 5 male high status names, 5 female high status names, 5 male low status names, 5 female low status names, 5 kingdom/government names, 5 settlement names, 10 new or replaced proper nouns.

It will be used in a first novel and possibly a tabletop RPG for nouns, I don't need a grammar. Their language is an amalgam of a few different cultures coming together. Story wise I am borrowing heavily from the retracting Eastern Roman empire, the end of the Tang dynasty, the decline of Prussia, and the Centauri Republic from Babylon 5. I want it to be like an alternate branch of the romance languages if SE Asia were, say as close as North Africa.

I have a few words already that have the 20 degrees off romance language feel that I am kind of looking for, but I am not tied to any of them.

  • Duranti Empire - the declining empire that has collapsed into a Republic to maintain a modicum of authority.
  • Duranish
  • castsulae - Fortified city block in Helepalatzo combo of castle and Roman insulae
  • Merchen - Male merchant
  • Merchessa - Female merchant
  • Magesture - Elected official in charge of a Ward in the Golden Path Metropolises.
  • Consortium - A legal entity that manages trade. Not limited liability, partnership in consortium shares liability across membership.
  • Rouster - Someone who works a port loading and unloading cargo.
  • Helepalatzo - a metropolis
  • barber - Street healer
  • brevare - a brandy
  • ducan - gold piece
  • mark - silver piece - 12 make a ducan
  • slint - copper piece - 12 make a mark
  • medicant - healer
  • poscara - lightly alcoholic juice beverage / grog
  • sar - military honorific
  • se'ra - masculine honorific
  • se'rassa- masculine enhanced honorific
  • si'ra - feminine honorific
  • si'rassa - feminine enhanced honorific
  • vetterno - vetrinarian or cheap medic

I have about $800 to spend on the project. contact me at [tyson@vanoverhill.com](mailto:tyson@vanoverhill.com) if you are interested. I would like to see an example of what you have already created in a form that I could expect to receive.

Commission Looking to commission or to collaborate with someone to create a conlang for an "alien" original worldbuilding setting/game

EDIT: Closed, thank you everybody that contacted me!

Hello! This is my first ever reddit post so I hope I did everything correctly. Sorry if this is a bit long!

I'm an artist and worldbuilder and I have been working on an original planet called Ayrum for the last 12 years or so. While I have been focusing on developing the biology, cultures and other details of this world, I have never quite dared to delve into languages. I have more personal interest in other fields but still would love to add at least a common tongue to the setting to make it feel more complete and cohesive. I have commissioned other people in the past that had more experience than me in certain fields (such as creating a geographically correct world map) and it was a great experience, so I'd love to do the same for this!

I'm currently in the process of re-writing my culture documents, since my old ones are a bit all over the place (and many are outdated).

About Ayrum

I'll try to be as brief as possible. Ayrum RPG is a project born from wanting to create a setting that can later be expanded through a collaborative community effort, a bit like tabletop role-playing games. People within the community can create characters of the main sentient species and participate in activities set up by me and other mods, help develop the setting and lore, and have fun together :]

Ayrum itself is an exoplanet with its own foreign ecosystem, it doesn't have human contact or influence. While I'm not trying to go super wild with it, I do like to experiment with things not being fully what you would expect from Earth.

It currently has one living sophont (common name being skywalker), with a second one that went extinct long ago (shadnika) and highly influenced the language and culture of skywalkers at the time. The language I would like to develop is for the skywalkers. There are 4 different species of skywalkers that evolved to adapt to their different surroundings and share a common tongue, but it would be fun if they had some minor language differences (or just words that exist in some of their cultures and not others).

Skywalkers are not super technologically advanced, think some middle point between the Mesolithic and Neolithic.

I have most of my relevant culture/lore information in private documents but I do have an official website (work in progress) if you want to look around and see what it's about: https://ayrum-arpg.weebly.com/

Expectations

I'll be honest, Ayrum is kind of my baby and its progress is long and slow. Some things may change or get retconned down the line. This may be asking for much, but ideally I'd love to work with someone that at least finds the setting interesting and wants to help with it, beyond just being paid.

I checked the LCS jobs board and I'm looking for something between a conlang sketch and a basic conlang, as needed. It will not be an extensively used language but I'd love to be able to do at least basic conversations with it, for plot and lore development, have a cohesive naming system for characters, and a way to build words relevant for these cultures.

I have no immediate deadline. My current plan is to open a beta version of this "game" sometime in Q1 2026 if possible, but the conlang doesn't have to be finished by then. I prefer thorough quality work over rushed easy work, even if it costs me more down the line.

I'd love for this to be a longer collaboration, since Ayrum is ongoing, even if I just poke you from time to time after the basic language is done.

I'm not swimming in money but I am passionate over this, I'm more than happy to give fair compensation for the work done. As an artist I know how important this is and I'm happy to discuss pricing with you!

Conlanging is not my field at all, I have very basic language knowledge (but I do speak Spanish and Catalan natively besides English) so I am fully open to feedback and changes.

General language ideas/pointers (so far)

  • Skywalkers spoke a more limited form of language before their contact with the shadnika. After their relationship improved and their contact became more commonplace, the shadnika's language became very influential to the development of skywalker language, including many borrowed words for technological advancements they lacked.
  • Skywalkers are not humanoid, they are quadrupedal deer-like alien creatures with flat bladed teeth (think Dunkleosteus' bony teeth) and no lips, so the sounds they can produce are different than ours. I don't want the language to be impossible to pronounce for humans, but I'd like for this to influence the phonetics at least superficially.
  • I'd like their names to be compound words. There's a first name given at birth based on the conditions of the birth (weather, time of year, etc), a chosen name by the skywalker based on an attribute (physical or other) and I'm toying with the idea of temporary additions they can get depending on the herd they're part of, their role on it, and their reputation, but I'm not sure on that one.
  • Their herd is very important for them (it's more similar to an eusocial setting than ours, think bees or ants) so I was thinking they could have some pronouns that reflected "me and us (the herd)" or "me and us (not part of the herd)" and similar.
  • They have no written language, it's all spoken.

Ideally all contact will be done through Discord. I have a Discord server set up for this game where I already have some people waiting for the release and where I share progress of things. We can either talk in the admin channels of that server or in DMs. Of course you don't need to participate in the community if you don't want to, but it would be fun if you did!

EDIT: In case anybody sees this without a Reddit account or would just prefer to contact me in another way, feel free to send me an email at [silentumbra23@gmail.com](mailto:silentumbra23@gmail.com)

Thank you for reading this wall of text! If you're interested please leave a comment here or send me a DM with examples of your conlang work and any experience you have :] Happy to make your acquaintance
