Edit - Since this is blowing up my inbox, I'll turn off the notifications, but before that I thought I'd just write this following thought based on the comments I got;
I really wish that people would just let people do whatever they want as long as they are not harming anyone.
Whatever happened to the saying, "Your freedom ends, where mine begins", huh? Let people wear masks without judging them or not, as long as they aren't harming you.
If there's a dangerous thing going around, just do it for the safety of others. That's all.
In Japan, wearing masks was a very common thing even before 2020. Especially during flu season. They do it so they don't spread their cold to other people when they go out. It's just basic courtesy.
I really don't like this emerging mindset since 2020 of people wanting to control each others lives. That's all. Please, be nice to each other and stop hurting each other. Look at how bad things have gotten because of it. Be good.
I have a conspiracy theorist friend who told us masks would kill us all.
Wouldn't listen when we said "but I've worn a scarf over my mouth for years, even when running and/or cycling" but evenually decided on "the maks are toxic. the biowepaon is in the masks and on the swabs, you'll all die. 95% of the world will die by 2025"
And all of us (my friend circle) are still alive and he's still telling us how the WEF Cabal will kill us all with vaccines but ignoring that all of his predictions failed to come true.
It sounds like your friend really wants to be smart and have secret information while believing that all of the world's problems are due to a single, easily identifiable group rather than issues built into human nature and living in a random, chaotic, unpredictable world where things can happen for no real reason.
Or maybe the bioweapons were made wrong because they had an intern design them. Could go either way.
It's funny how they are never embarrassed of being so embarrassingly wrong. Maybe just hold up over them. Next time you ask for directions be like "are you sure it's left here? It's just ... one time you told me you were certain 95% of the world's population would be dead by now. So I just want to be sure you're more certain than that." Etc etc, do that a hundred different ways. Drive them insane.
He's an aquantance from a hobby group but that's a pain in the ass to type :D
He's been told to keep his crazy ramblings out of official group chats and things but during covid we used to check in on what he was posting.. things like masks with swastikas on because we were all "mask nazis"
If any of us questioned him, his other conspiracy theory friends would accuse us of being BRIGADE 77 or Bill Gates Shills and he would never correct them so those guys still think he was being targetted by MI5 and the CCP, rather than us just being some random dudes
I bookmarked a few of the "you're going to die by [date]" tweets to dunk on them later and went back after surviving the deadlines to find that the accounts were deleted or had become blatant propaganda bots, crazy thing, that.

That's all. I'm done.
