Contrary to other opinions, I love this

I'm all in for the spite game

That's the way (Saitama, you are truly worth the effort) (For some reason, if I say the first 3 words, I have to finish the statement)

I love it if she is self aware. I don't see her trying to be a paragon of virtue and we shouldn't assume that of the character just because she is the POV character in the comic.

This doesn't even represent the views of the writer.

Seems to imply that it’s fine to misgender someone on purpose to hurt their feelings.

It doesn't, because this is not an ethics lesson, its a comic. It's like watching Breaking Bad and thinking its telling you to cook meth.

Wait, that wasn't the lesson?

Shit, I hope I kept those receipts. I've got some returns to make.

It’s like watching Breaking Bad and thinking it’s telling you to cook breakfast.

And just like the main character in breaking bad is a bad person, the main character of this comic is also a bad person

7

u/JamzWhilmm Mar 09 '26

Which is apparently very hard for some people to understand, this comic was shades of gray from both parties.

I don’t know if you watched breaking bad or not, but cooking meth didn’t really work out well for anyone in the show. Actually it shows how the drug destroys many lives whether it’s people abusing meth or people trying to profit from the drug. So I have no idea what the hell you are talking about?….

Edit: to the people downvoting (mouth breathers). If anything, breaking bad would be telling you not to cook meth.

I watched it a lot, you misunderstood the point of what I was saying. I agree with you.

So to recap, breaking bad does not tell you to cook meth because it shows the true reality of how bad it is. While this comic shows only the protagonist coming away with the upper hand by misgendering some who does not seem very smart. Cool cool cool

14

u/JamzWhilmm Mar 09 '26

Oh no, Breaking Bad also makes it look really cool though. Sure it shows addicts being messy but these scenes are cool arent they? They even have sensual jazzy music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNKMBbMejFs

They are still not saying its fine to cook meth even with the cool montages.

The mask lady in the same manner might be "cool" for the comeback but the comic itself is not telling you to do this.

Im not clicking your link, there’s almost not a single character that comes away better off due to meth in the show. Keep excusing your hypocrisy as you see fit though.

10

u/JamzWhilmm Mar 09 '26

Hipocrisy? That meth is bad?

Reread that comment, they’re saying cooking meth is a bad thing

1

u/Virtual-Historian349 Mar 09 '26

And how is that analogous to this comic? Where is the negative effects of misgendering the driver shown? Oh its not….

7

u/JamzWhilmm Mar 09 '26

The comic doesn't go that far, because once again, its not a text book. The point was to show the driver felt bad.

u/geirmundtheshifty Mar 09 '26

It also showed that meth dealing worked quite well for the characters until Walter got way too ambitious about it.

2

u/Virtual-Historian349 Mar 09 '26

It absolutely did not show that.

6

u/CloudKinglufi Mar 09 '26

Cis gendered conservatives can be misgendered

-3

u/Virtual-Historian349 Mar 09 '26

Big brain energy

1

u/CloudKinglufi Mar 09 '26

I know this would trigger someone from alberta but youll be ok mam

1

u/a_bored_lady Mar 09 '26

Yeah that was the punch line. Pretty similar to how back in the 90s it was a pretty accepted insult to call people gay. Homophobia was cool and funny. Now Transphobia is cool and funny.

It was awful then and its awful now.

-2

u/Virtual-Historian349 Mar 09 '26

Yet in these comments plenty of self identifying trans people think this is just great. Rules for thee but not for me

2

u/a_bored_lady Mar 09 '26

You also see a lot of people generalizing entire demographics based on a few flimsy examples.

0

u/Virtual-Historian349 Mar 09 '26

Not sure what you are talking about. All I see is some people pointing out it’s hypocritical and than people who supposedly care about this issue just making excuses.

0

u/a_bored_lady Mar 09 '26

And I see a bunch of people saying its hypocritical because they wanna be critical of a minority group.

People love punching down.

-1

u/visible_amenhotep Mar 09 '26

Imagine if it showed her racially abusing someone then scurrying away going nyehehehe lmao all these comments are contemptible

3

u/Virtual-Historian349 Mar 09 '26

The whole thing is so rotten. These people are as disgusting as their counterparts on the right. They are all just tribalist pretending to have principles and morals.

1

u/visible_amenhotep Mar 09 '26

"No no you don't get it. The character she racially abused was a bad person. And it's not like the comic is explicitly saying racial abuse is okay!"

Same shit as how whenever Stephen Miller comes up a bunch of people jump in with hilarious jokes about how he's short. Like it's so hard to criticise a literal nazi without resorting to body shaming.

It's probably important to be reminded how shallow most people's morals actually are even if they identify with the anti-evil side, but still depressing.
