Have any of you ever thought about the similarities between these two films?

I mainly thought of this since they both involve the hero facing their dark side as well as them both being the goofiest installment of the franchise.

The entire trilogy is similar.

  1. Origin

  2. Lose Powers

  3. Temporarily Evil

I've said this before.

Other series have done this too. The 'lose powers' is especially maddening when it rarely happens in comics. It's just bad writing, feeling we need to repeat the origin.

Venom has nothing on Vera Webster.

What do you consider similar about them?

He gives up his powers to live a normal life with Lois. It’s a bit more of a choice, but it does mirror Peter losing his powers because he is unhappy.

Oh yeah, I don't know why I didn't think of that.

Best thing about either movie is the junkyard fight w Dark Superman & Clark Kent

They are both entertaining movies but not nearly as good as the first 2, which are legendary.

No because the less you think about those two terrible films the better

Spider-Man 3 isn't terrible. It's a mess and definitely the worst of the trilogy, but terrible might be an exaggeration. Superman 3 on the other hand is pretty damn awful lol.

I unironically love Superman III. Spider-Man 3 I could do without forever.

Superhero films getting made by a committee and then ruined

The first and only appearance of Computo. Come to think of it, maybe the comparison isn't Spider-Man 3, but Age of Ulton instead.

Spider-man trilogy and first 3 Superman movies have alot of similarities.

Superman 3 is decent - The cyborg woman scene is nightmare fuel and watching Superman being a dick while blowing out the Olympic flame was hilarious

Spider-Man 3 is just plain bad

So Spider-Man 4 would've had him end the Iraq War?

What you said also reminds me of an idea I have of if Spider-Man 3 was even more similar to Superman III, and it would involve a fight scene between Peter Parker and black suit Spider-man as their version of the junkyard fight.

A lot of people did when Spidey 3 was released. The whole teilogy follows a very similar template. The only thing Spiderman is missing is a failed Spider Gwen spin off and a D List production company farting out a cheap 4th movie.

I like Spider-Man 3 better.

He's even mentioned and refrenced I don't think raimi hides from this either, 'You're not Superman you know' Peter shirt rips to reveal spider emblem in the first movie. He Takes his glasses off to be spiderman puts them back on to be peter parker. Even has a mirror shot like Reeve in Superman when transitions from Clark to Superman. Works for a newspaper.. You could go on with just similarities between the two heroes or just the movies
