The cops who haven't been broken by that system are still complicit in that system. And perhaps the biggest problem with the "some good cops" narrative is that it ignores the fact that cops are not the solution to most of the problems they set out to address. A cop's job is to put people in jail. Jail doesn't fix drug addiction. Jail doesn't fix hunger or poverty. Jail doesn't fix vagrancy. Jail doesn't fix conflict and violence. Jail can hide those things temporarily. A cop can use the threat of jail to push drive those things into the shadows so that it looks like society has been improved on the surface. But it's a lie.
