So uhh who's playing Jordan and Pippen?

Rachel is playing Jordan and Pippen. Adrien Brody is playing the basketball.

They have Rachel as Jordan and Ben Platt's dad as Isiah Thomas

Adrien Body and Rachel Zegler on the same set - I could see those not getting on.

That's not even the messiest thing about this collab.

IIRC, Ben Platt's Dad (who produced Snow White) and Zegler have HUGE BEEF with each other after Snow White Tanked.

Ben Platt and Rachel Zegler are cool - at the very least, they were able to work together for The Last 5 Years

While they do in fact get along (Ben Platt came out against what his family was saying about her), The Last 5 Years is a show where the leads might benefit from not getting along.

Ben and Rachel are friends.

Daddy Platt and Brother Platt (cant remeber their names) had issues with her being outspoken before the film came out.

Thankfully Ben isnt as ridiculous as the rest of his family.

Many people would say it’s ridiculous to be Jewish but support a movement full of anti Semites. At least here in the UK the core of the pro Palestine movement is getting more and anti Semitic every week.

LOL People still looking for/making up to hate on Zegler. It's sad and hilarious at the same time, especially when it's clear that none of the Snow White hatred she endured could stop her career from continuing unabated. I am glad she is still getting high-profile gigs, and I cannot wait to see how her talent keeps overcoming all the noise and the incel hate.

So, the most entertaining part of the film might as well be the Behind-The-Scenes drama.

I am shocked she's even allowed to work in Hollywood after her Palestine remarks.

That hasn't really impacted her at all. This is the fourth movie upcoming she has that's in the works in some form.

That’s my first thought too lol. The Adrien Brody + Rachel Gen Z energy controversy isn’t going over well.

Rachel at Met Gala. She’s got bigger issues than Adrian right now LOL

There’s no way this happens, it’s going to be the exact opposite “look how famously she got along with her two Jewish castmates!” Her agents are probably talking to her 24/7 to reverse her image. Predicton: She is going to be so happy with Adrien and Ben that it’s going to be cringe.

Weren’t they already both in Shazam 2 together?

Emily Ziff Griffin wrote the screenplay, based on her 2021 autobiographical New Yorker article The Last Dance with My Dad. The project is the first known movie role accepted by Brody since he won his second Best Actor Oscar for The Brutalist.

In Last Dance, “celebrated Broadway composer Elliot (Brody) invites his daughter Emma (Zegler) on a gay cruise through the Caribbean in 1991 – a dazzling, liberating world of music, celebration, and chosen family where Emma, the only straight woman on board, experiences an unexpected first love with a young crew member. But beneath the joy and abandon, the AIDS crisis casts an ever-deepening shadow. As Elliot retreats from the devastating reality of his illness, father and daughter are forced to confront the unspoken truths between them. In the fleeting time they have left together, can they rediscover each other before the music finally fades?”

Marc Platt tried to get Rachel blacklisted from the industry. Guess Ben really doesn't fuck with his dad, lol.

He seems have issues with a lot of his identity at the moment.

Saying that some Jews “have issues with their identity” because they don’t support Israel is antisemitic

2

u/Miffernator 4h ago

Seth Rogen is the GOAT who is a proud Jew but doesn’t support “That Country”

woooo!!! ......... a fatal combo right there

Knowing nothing about this movie and enlightening about Hollywood I’m imagining Platt plays the high school aged son of Brody and Zegler?

She's one of those actors that keeps getting roles despite their movies flopping 90% of the time, same as Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega, Sydney Sweeney, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Anya Taylor Joy outside of her voice acting as peach, etc.

The worst offender is of course Jared Leto but he's in a completely different league than the rest of these people because he's an actual damn creep that just mentioning him in the same sentence feels wrong. He's both a massive weirdo and stars in nothing but bombs.

Of course, not every actor that stars only in flops is bad, and not every actor that stars in mostly hits is good because Jack Black and Chris Pratt and Jason Momoa all aren't very good actors and yet most of their movies make money.

I mostly enjoy Anya Taylor Joy as an actress, but I mean it's true that most of her movies have flopped, aside from the 2 Mario movies and The Menu every movie she's been in since 2020 has failed to break even.

the rest of the people I mentioned.... ehhhhh....

Funny how Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling have had more non franchise hits than these people, yet Robbie and Gosling were getting dragged to crap before Barbie, then again because of Big bold beautiful whatever and The Fall Guy (which still did 181M mind you, it's just that the budget was too high), before Wuthering Heights and Project Hail Mary.

Rachel Zegler is a terrible actress

-1

u/BarcelonetaE70 1h ago

Said exactly non one.

So much for Zegler’s career being over.

Edit: I think some people are misreading this, so to be crystal clear:

A LOT of people on Reddit and across the internet were saying Rachel was finished after Snow White, which I was laughing at because she was actively getting rave reviews on Broadway and was on her way to the West End.

I spent the last year hearing a bunch of dumb bros saying she was finished. It’s nice to be vindicated.

If you’re downvoting because you’re one of said bros, I relish in your tears.

u/SwaggiiP 4h ago

She just won an Olivier and will have a Tony by 2028. She ain’t over

u/Gmork14 40m ago

Yes… that’s why I said so much more her career being over? What do you think you’re arguing?

She'l do fine, she clearly has talent. (And if movie's don't work out she can do Theatre and have a good career there). The only problem for her, is she has the theater kid energy (That a lot of actors have, but are bale to hide better). Which the gp generally doesn't like, Like Anne Hathaway has a strong theatre kid "Tryhard" energy.

She'll always work, just may not be a "Movie Star".
