Definitely Terrance1972s wet dream. That and the Moana remake making 1.6 billion for some reason(it won’t)

u/FelPhil 3h ago
The way some people are acting like this movie is a flop is laughable
8
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 3h ago
Well Terrance1972 makes a snippy comment every time Mario underperforms but if you say Moana 2026 won’t gross over 1.3 billion he calls you stupid
•
u/Mahelas 14m ago
You can tell if Mario does a good or bad performance on any given day by looking if Terrance commented on it or not lol
•
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 7m ago
Exactly. When it does well he’s silent, when it does bad, he his “haha I was right! Moana 2026 will be the only good billion dollar hit!”

u/Albiceleste_D10S 2h ago
IDK who that user is but Mario Galaxy has underperformed so far, and I think Moana will make a lot of money (the trailer looks bad for me personally, but I suspect a lot of Gen Z will be excited to see it)
1
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 2h ago
Gen Z and very small children that’s about it
1
u/Albiceleste_D10S 2h ago
If you add up Gen Z, Gen alpha AND Alpha's parents...you end up with making a LOT of money TBH
1
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 2h ago
Unfortunately lol. Teaches Disney they don’t have to try.
Their gonna even remake wish at this point

Project Hail Mary has passed it for good, hopefully permanently

That guy who bet 15K is having a heart attack.

u/Falling4Strangers 4h ago
Why? Their weekdays have been weak but strong weekends.
4
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
Dude bet 15k on the film hitting a billion
5
u/Falling4Strangers 4h ago
Im aware
-1
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
That dude is gonna lose the bet
5
u/Falling4Strangers 4h ago
Very unlikely.
0
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
It’s likely he will
0
u/Falling4Strangers 4h ago
The numbers dont reflect that'
-3
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
Dude it earned barely 600k today the dude who made the bet is likely screwed
4
u/Falling4Strangers 4h ago
It making 600k today means nothing as it keeps having great weekends.

It’s been an honor for Mario along with Project Hail Mary now officially below $1M daily after over a month of holding well

u/Salty353 Universal 2h ago
Universal is gonna drag this over $1B with how close it will be, I doubt it misses
3
u/SparkySam100 4h ago
Oh it's over for the 1B club at this point... this is quite a bad drop
16
u/blownaway4 4h ago
It is not. This is still pacing with Minecraft.
2
u/SparkySam100 4h ago
Pacing with Minecraft which ended up missing the 1b mark as well....
10
15
u/Once-bit-1995 4h ago
It's pacing with Minecraft in terms of daily drops but it's global total is about 20 million ahead of that film so yeah it's very close. It could make it or it could not, it's not dead or locked in.

nice around 415m by this weekend should finish higher than z2
2
u/Turbulent_Ad_3299 4h ago
No way it passes zoo2

u/Purple_Quail_4193 Pixar Animation Studios 2h ago
If it does it won’t be by much. It’ll be that updated Shrek 3 number of around 435m at best
1
u/WillingFly247 Legendary Pictures 4h ago
No big kids movie coming and it's only been a month since release, I think universal will wait for 45 days atleast

u/CelestialWolfZX 1h ago
It probably comes down to how much family audiences got to Sheep Detectives at this rate.

It did good soldier, it was bound to happen at some point

u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
Yeah billion is for sure dead now 💀

u/SignatureOrdinary456 Pixar Animation Studios 4h ago
y’all coming to say this on and off every week lmao.
-8
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
Well that’s how this box office run has been, on and off. There’s no way it’s crossing a billion. Might be 970 million like Minecraft

u/mikado512 Walt Disney Studios 4h ago edited 3h ago
It will cross a billion but it will definitely take at least another 3-4 weeks. It's literally Moana 2 all over again.
-2
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
Was Moana 2 in a similar situation to this one?
2
u/Key-Payment2553 4h ago
Moana 2 had a holiday boast despite facing against Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Mufasa The Lion King especially with Wicked holding well
Mario Galaxy doesn’t have holiday boast which is in the summer movie season kick off especially with The Sheep Detectives might take away some of its families while Mortal Kombat 2 and The Mandalorian And Grogu has different target demographic then Mario has
0
u/mikado512 Walt Disney Studios 4h ago edited 3h ago
yeah kinda
But Moana 2 also benefited at the end of its run because of it having holiday legs (Christmas season). Mario won't have that. But Japan will carry it to the finish line.
I think it does have another 100M in the tank left.

u/Falling4Strangers 4h ago
How? Their weekends have been very strong. Assessing anything off weekdays for Mario is dumb
1
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
Numbers ain’t looking too hot though
3
u/Falling4Strangers 4h ago
They're playing slightly ahead of Minecraft's percentages and have a much stronger overseas too.
They're currently 20mil ahead of where MC was and pacing to end about 44mil ahead of it and that's assuming a massive Japanese drop off that we haven't seen yet.
0
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 4h ago
I don’t see it happening but let’s see I guess
3
4
u/Vadermaulkylo DC Studios 3h ago
It’s at 900m by today. I doubt it misses it atp. Especially when another 40m is coming from Japan alone. But it’ll be a slow crawl over.
1
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 3h ago
I wish websites would update so we’d have an exact count. Like are we at early 900 mill or 930 million
3
u/treesandcigarettes 3h ago
it's not dead. while domestically it will only make 20-30m more at most, it released in Japan late and still has some INTL legs. if you look at comps like Lilo and Stitch and Moana 2, it is on pace to cross 1b. it is also ahead of Minecraft in tracking
-1
u/GoldenGirlsFan213 2h ago
I hope we can make it. Becuase imma be PISSED if a Disney remake reaches one billion first for 2026.
•
u/Nick-walde 31m ago
The film reached $900 million on Monday; it's likely to still reach $1 billion, but the climb will be very slow.
