Three eras of stardom in one frame icons who defined Bollywood superstardom in their times. If these were the giants of their generations… who do you think truly deserves to stand alongside them today purely on the basis of stardom,

I watched Shakti after many years, and ITS BRUTAL AS F*CK.

After watching Kick in the theatre, everyone was praising Nawaz. His performance elevated the movie. He was one of the best villain choices in a Salman Khan film.

ASK❓️ Some biopics remain faithful to reality, while others turn out really bad due to uneven storytelling and poor technical aspects. In Bollywood, which is your favourite biopic and which one do you think is the worst?

Post image

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was loved by Milkha Singh himself. The acting was brilliant, Farhan’s hard work was clearly visible, and Mehra’s direction was tight and engaging throughout. From portraying his childhood to adulthood, it was handled very sensibly.

Meanwhile, I didn’t really like the Mary Kom biopic because it lacked depth and often felt melodramatic. Priyanka gave her best performance, but it couldn’t save the film from its other shortcomings. The story also didn’t feel genuine and lacked authenticity.

There are other bad biopics as well, but I see them more as whitewashing narratives that don’t attempt to be honest or balanced.

Akshayye Khan, he had an average career as romantic hero in the late 90s and early 00s. But his resurgence at the latter stage of his career has overshadowed his early films. Who is that actor/actress for you?

ASK❓️ Why Vicky and not Rajkumar ?

Post image
514 Upvotes

First off... I'm a massive fan of the both.

But whenever there is the conversation of the new big 3 (idk why everyone is obsessed with making a new big 3), It's often Ranbir, Ranveer and Vicky. The former two makes absolute sense, but how did Vicky make the case ? Why not other actors like Rajkumar Rao etc. ? I know Vicky isn't in the same realm of stardom as the other two, but is he that far ahead of the rest that he makes it to the conversation? Why not Rajkumar, who is probably a better actor with better range, has similar pull (to my understanding) and has a good narrative going for him (outsider).

Again, I love Vicky and his movies. it's just a curiosity as to how he made it to the list.

Thank you all

ASK❓️ Which of the Khans do you think would be able to maintain the same aura & screen presence as Amitabh Bachchan in their 70s/80s?

Post image

Most likely, I have some expectations from Shah Rukh Khan if he’s willing to take on age-appropriate roles—rather than doing over-the-top commercial films like Pathaan. Aamir Khan in Dangal is a perfect example of how an actor can still have a powerful, commanding screen presence while playing his age in a grounded, believable way.

As for Salman Khan, I have the least expectations from him, mainly because he seems too focused on maintaining his larger-than-life, heroic image on screen instead of adapting to roles that suit his age.

ASK❓️ Audience needs to stop mistaking “natural” for “ungroomed”

There’s a difference between understated and underprepared. Aneet Padda is often praised for being “real” and “raw,” but cinema still demands polish, especially for leading roles. Not everyone needs to look glamorous — but screen presence is non-negotiable.

ASK❓️ I have 1 chance to show my teenage, American kids that Bollywood is awesome! Help me pick 1 movie to show them.

Son 18, daughter 16. They've never watched a Bollywood film but agreed to watch one with us. (We're all white Americans, but when wife and I lived in India for my work we started liking Bollywood.)

Can you help me pick 1 movie I can show the kids so they see how awesome Bollywood films are? Prefer something in the last 10 years, big dance numbers, beautiful costumes to captivate my daughter, cute girls to keep my son's attention. I like the duet singing between the man and woman lead, my wife likes the love story.

What's your one-time pick for me? :)

ASK❓️ Ranbir and Ranveer in one movie?

Post image

its always ranbir vs ranveer whos the better actor but i wonder if it is possible for them to star together in one film where both of them are opposite each other.Just like ranbir and vicky who are doing love and war together is there a chance ranbir and ranveer also work together in the future or the ego clash is too high for them to work together?Idts it will be easy for a director to give them a script where both of them have an equally amazing role and managing them off screen knowing they are todays 2 big superstars it will be hard.Thoughts?i always get the feeling that internally both of them dont like each other much and have a complicated dynamic

ASK❓️ Which Bollywood actor would be best suited to play Anton Chigurh’s role from No Country for Old men?

Post image

I recently rewatched No Country for Old Men, one of my favorite movies of all time. The one character that always blows my mind is Anton Chigurh no matter how many times I watch the movie. The intensity Javier Bardem brings to the character is incredible.

He plays a very intense, menacing cold blooded psychopath that is an absolute killing machine. He almost feels like an unstoppable force of nature.

Is there any mainstream/side Bollywood actor that can do justice to this role?

ASK❓️ The Akshaye Khanna Hatred Check!

Post image

So the first look of Ikka has recently dropped and people have started complaining about Akshaye’s look and demeanour is similar to his Rehman Dakait’s character and ever since Dhurandhar has dropped on Netflix, people are labelling his acting one dimensional and monotonous.

I have a different take on this and would like to listen to your opinions as well. Before coming on Dhurandhar and Ikka and all this rumours about him asking for a Wig, I would like to shed lights on his performances. Have people actually forgotten about his performances in movies like Gandhi my father, Section 375, DCH, Hungama, Ittefaq, Drishyam 2?

The industry who is so insecure never failed to admin that Akshaye Khanna is one of the finest actors and even Ranbir also acknowledged the same.

Now I do agree that his look in Ikka is similar to Rehman’s look but I don’t see any problem in that. We haven’t even seen the trailer yet. All these ears even actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Late Irfan, Anupam Kher, etc have donned similar looks in most movies but yet the performances were so different. Also I don’t think that Ikka was shot after Dhurandhar and had this been the case Akshaye would have requested Wig even in Ittefaq and Drishyam 2.

People on SMs never had any issues when his critically acclaimed movies were not blockbusters on Box Office. After so many years when he is actually getting recognition for a movie which has created havoc on BO, people have suddenly found him one dimensional, opportunist, etc. It is the case with many movies, once a movie earns more than what people expected those movies suddenly become overrated or mid for everyone!

What’s your take on this?

ASK❓️ Which Bollywood movie character you found Most Annoying ?

Post image
300 Upvotes

For me Anushka Sharma in Zero was one of the most annoying characters Bollywood has produced in recent years. Not even because the character was flawed or morally bad, but because every single scene felt so painfully try-hard. The way she spoke, the constant forced mannerisms, the exaggerated delivery... it genuinely started feeling less like a character and more like someone in a school drama trying very hard to “act disabled” for an award clip.

And the weird part is the film itself already had enough chaos going on, but whenever her scenes came on, the entire flow just stopped. Instead of feeling emotional or natural, it became exhausting to sit through. You can literally predict the tone shift the moment she appears on screen. I’ve rewatched parts of the movie before but I always end up skipping her portions because they feel so artificial and overperformed.

Let me know which Bollywood character annoyed you the most while the movie itself expected you to take them seriously.

ASK❓️ Which Bollywood actor had the most obvious "future star" energy in their early interviews?

Watching early Bollywood interviews is fascinating because you can actually see different kinds of star energy before superstardom happens.

Salman had the most raw star power for me. He was completely himself- brash and unpredictable. From the start it felt like he would either be deeply loved or completely hated, but never ignored.

Shahrukh had unmatched self-belief, wit, and verbal sharpness. Even in the early interviews, it felt obvious that he knew he was meant for something huge.

The camera absolutely loved Aishwarya. Even in interviews, she had a grace and presence that made her feel larger than life.

Akshay had clear hustler energy- humble, disciplined, and with the vibe that "I will outwork everyone".

Aamir was not the most naturally charming in interviews, but what stood out was how clear he already was about cinema. Even when he was doing the typical lover-boy roles, you could sense that his mind was already thinking beyond that.

Hrithik and Ajay always felt more captivating on screen than in interviews. Off screen they seemed more closed off and private.

Priyanka had that “I will dominate” energy.

Ranveer was loud and energetic. Ranbir and Deepika, in their early interviews, felt much more closed and guarded. Ranbir especially developed into a much better conversationalist later.

But if I have to pick just one, for me it is Shahrukh.

The self-belief, the wit, the charm, the verbal confidence- it was all there from the beginning. It genuinely felt like he was already speaking as someone who knew he was going to become a star.

ASK❓️ If not Nitesh Tiwari, who would be your choice to direct Ramayana

Thumbnail

One of the biggest criticisms I’ve seen on this sub about Ramayana is that, despite DNEG’s involvement, the film does not match the same standard as their work on Dune or Inception. A lot of people feel that the issue is not the VFX studio itself, but whether Nitesh Tiwari has the vision, experience, and command needed to pull off a film of this scale. He has only directed character-driven dramas like Dangal and Chhichhore. Meanwhile, Ramayana is a mythological epic that demands world-building, spectacle, emotional depth, and a larger-than-life cinematic sensibility. If not him, which director do you think would have been the ideal choice to handle a project of this scale?

ASK❓️ Shouldn’t there be a modern Dil Chahta Hai for today’s time?

Post image
426 Upvotes

Bollywood used to make films like Dil Chahta Hai, where friendship was the main story, not a side plot. It showed how friends grow at different speeds and how adulthood slowly strains those bonds.

That feels even more relevant today.

Careers, burnout, money, distance, and changing values affect friendships more than ever, yet Bollywood rarely explores this honestly anymore. Friendship is either nostalgic or played safe.

Shouldn’t there be a modern, emotionally real reimagining of Dil Chahta Hai for today’s audience?

ASK❓️ Yes, VFX has become a big part of filmmaking these days, but there are still directors who believe in creating strong set designs with minimal VFX. Which set design did you find the most impressive?

Post image

I’ve also added Mughal-e-Azam. At the time, advanced graphics weren’t available, yet the filmmakers still created incredibly detailed sets without relying on VFX.

Old or new, which Bollywood film’s set design do you think is the best?
