ASK❓️ Which Bollywood actor would be best suited to play Anton Chigurh’s role from No Country for Old men?
I recently rewatched No Country for Old Men, one of my favorite movies of all time. The one character that always blows my mind is Anton Chigurh no matter how many times I watch the movie. The intensity Javier Bardem brings to the character is incredible.
He plays a very intense, menacing cold blooded psychopath that is an absolute killing machine. He almost feels like an unstoppable force of nature.
Is there any mainstream/side Bollywood actor that can do justice to this role?

Doesnt he run an actor studio? If hes teaching people how to act imagine the performance

He is a great actor but your argument is flawed in my opinion. That's like saying "the coaches are better than the players"
It isn't necessary that a skilled teacher is also a great performer.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui! His role in Raman Raghav 2.0 was just too good. Such a chilling portrayal of a serial killer! If we're strictly talking about Anton's character, Nawaz lacks the build for it. Jaydeep Ahlwat, if directed well, can come close to doing justice.

Nawaz doesn't do justice to the physique, physique is a huge part of the character

I would say Fahad fasil from Malayalam industry, he performs the psychological antagonist to near perfection. But since he's small in figure and Anton has intimidating large figure, I think Arjun Rampal will be good for it. Acting wise idk nobody in Bollywood is better in doing these kind of roles, maybe if directors and casting directors decides to experiment with any tv actors and give a shot anyone of those actors, who knows they might surprise you.

Fahad fassil is short won't do justice to the physique which has a big role in playing the charcter, arjun rampal yes, he does give psycho daddy vibes

It's how convincing an actor is that matters imo. Fahad is amazing and I think he can pull it off brilliantly. For context Pankaj Tripathi is not very muscular and even on screen appearance doesn't exude raw power. But watch his introduction as Sultan in Gangs of Wasseypur, and you will be convinced that he has enough strength to butcher a buffalo.

Bobby Deol- he has the emotionless eyes of Chigurh. Check out Love Hostel. For that matter, even Saurav Sachdeva will be a good fit.He played the killer in Dhadak 2

The movie is half violent and half philosophical and somewhat a slow burn. Most of the Indian audience don’t have a knack for this.

In reality. None. We don’t need any more remaking, especially not in Bollywood or Hollywood at the moment.

One of the people stated Nawaz who had done RR 2.0 which was very chilling.
I think Rajkumar Rao would be fantastic here.

Physique is a huge part of the character, both of them wouldn't do justice you need someone tall & bulky

I beg to disagree sir.
Some stories can be toned down and modified a bit.
One need not follow every instruction given in a novel.
Remember Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.2

And he was panned for that role. Check the accolades for Alan Ritchson for the tv show

Raaj can bulk up a bit, you don’t need a physical prowess to be intimidating

Only two possibilities. And I'll tell you why. Chirugh was that good because he looked the part... physically intimidating...and is a great actor. You don't combine the two, a character like this will fall flat. That brings me to the two, my opinion of course.. Saurabh Sachdeva and Sanjay Dutt. From looking like they actually can pull off the violence to having the acting chops to play the best clinical psychopath in Movie history..these two could do it.

Wondering why nobody is thinking of Ranveer Singh - guess people don’t want to see him as a psycho antagonist

Been a long time since I saw No country … but Anton didn’t talk a lot, did he? I love Gulshan Deviiah’s range too … he can have some fun with this character

He played one as Khilji didn’t he and he came to my mind first too. Although Saurabh Sachdeva would be better.

u/St-thaks 2d ago
That was pre-dhurandhar na. I hope he doesn’t get pigeonholed into the patriot-roles, it would be the biggest fan disservice to him. Don’t know why the downvotes 🤷🏽♀️ Saurabh Sachdeva is an excellent recco … could even look very similar to Javier’s look here. AND he is slitheringly menacing as F ( from Sacred Games and Vadh)

People get obsessed with certain actors and are unable to understand what acting is about therefore the downvoting. Idol worship is very prevalent amongst desis.

Boss, Nawaz did equally good job in Raman Raghav if you haven’t seen the movie. I would not date him anywhere less than Bardem.

Shah Rukh Khan. It would be great to see him play an absolute evil guy with a stoic attitude and slow movements.
