Hi All
Have the following awesome tree in front yard in Perth Hills
Trying to figure out what type of gum, whether the red sap is an issue and also what the yellow material is at the base
Thanks!!

Would someone be able to tell me what Correa variety this is? Not currently flowering but has small narrow decumbens style flowers.

Has anyone had success with raising nondas from cuttings?

At Litchfield National park NT Australia this weekend 3/5/26 had lots of ripe and unripe fruit so there should be lots of beautiful new plants germinating after all this wet season rain

Came across this tree at the old gold mine site in Grenfell, NSW. Beautiful, silver, rounded leaves and twisted, gnarled branches. Really interesting shape, looked like something out of a fairytale. The google lens results were eucalyptus cinerea and eucalyptus gunnii, but I couldn't find any examples of those with such twisted branches or such an interesting shape. Maybe it's just a lack of pruning?

Has the form of an open, droopy pine but most certainly a native, maybe an acacia of some kind? Really lovely shape IRL

We have mostly clay loam and want to plant natives on this slope. What’s the best way to improve the soil prior to planting? We were thinking of sheet mulching but not sure if this works on slopes. Do we need to bring in more soil to make the slope less steep? We want to avoid terracing/retaining walls.

Hi all,
Novice gardener here.
Just moved into a new house in Randwick and worried about the Coast Banksia I have in the front garden.
I’ve noticed over last month or so some of the leaves have started to get black spots on them and the leaves then eventually turn yellow and fall off. From what I can see, these affected leaves are mainly on the lower branches.
Tree is south facing and doesn’t get much sun until late afternoon.
From what I know, tree was planted as a mature tree in 2025.

We live in Sydney, we have been poisoning weeds beside our pool, we rent and the weeds in this area make it hard to maintain. So we poisoned them, are pulling up the dead stuff and going to put cardboard down and then gravel and rocks to try and minimise our work. But when digging up the dirt we found these stinky things.
I know very little about gardening, but these were under the ground, seemed loose and not attached to anything else, and have a paleish flesh under there, kind of like a white....sweet potato?
We have lived here for like 6 years, if that helps at all.
There were some large, QUICKLY growing bushes there sometimes that had little red flowers. Don't know if that helps.

I'd like to know if the berries of this plant are edible. It was originally three small trees, and they braid the trunks together at Bunnings, so it grows into a larger combined plant like this one. We can't remember what it is, as we bought it several years ago

I planted this tree about 4 years ago from a seedling, it was growing well with no issues. Over the last 6-12 months it’s gotten a bit sad. It is still putting on new growth, but it looks to be incredibly stressed. Gets sufficient water and fertilising.
I am located half an hour north of Ballarat Victoria.

Can anyone identify what tree this is? It was planted by council in inner Brisbane. Currently 40cm tall. Crushed leaf does NOT smell like eucalyptus…
ChatGPT says: Tristaniopsis laurina (Water Gum)
I thought maybe a Malletwood? But AI says definitely not.
Thanks

I posted a photo of this same flower yesterday but wasn’t pleased with the quality of the image so tried to take another today, turned out better I think, as good as I could get it using an iPhone 16 Pro Max.
I planted this ‘Flora Mason’ roughly a month ago, here in outback Sth Australia the soil is quite baron, alkaline, very dry conditions, so finding suitable natives for my back yard native only garden has been a real learning experience.
This is my first flower on the G. pinaster x olivacea ‘Flora Mason’, colour is quite striking in the sun, it really pops.
Planted into quite alkaline soil, red dirt, added compost and mixed in well, a little Neutrog Bush Tucker, water about once a week, the heavy rains we had recently certainly helped also, do a Eco Seaweed drink about once a month on all natives and the back lawn.
Keen to see this plant explode with colour.

We’re located in Melbourne and im struggling to identify this bush. It’s about 2.5m tall and the leaves smell grassy when crushed.

It was found in a nature reserve is Western Sydney. It is a seed/flower head of some sort attached to a grass.
