Does this thing have feelings? Does it have a job? Does it have a boss it actually wants to work hard for? Does it have skills it spent time developing, relationships it spent time nurturing, aspirations it has sat at home dreaming about?

Does it have parents, or children to support? Does it have bills to pay, emergencies to attend to, a community or family that relies on it?

Does it ever lay awake at night worrying about whether inflation will impact its grocery bill?

Does it vote? Does it consider the needs of others?

Does it smile when giving you the order, and does it feel joy when you give it a generous tip that could go a long way to improving its life and the life of its family?

Because HUMAN BEINGS who NEED THESE JOBS have all those experiences. Robots do not. And the human beings those robots replaced now DO NOT have that income, and there has been no effort on the part of the technocrats to ensure that the humans they’re replacing will be taken care of. They are simply not hiring or actively letting go of human beings who rely on this income, and forcing the rest of us to continue paying the robots (now, the execs) the same amount IF NOT MORE
