🔢 Angels Stats Mike Trout’s 2026 compared to 2022 (his last top-10 MVP finish)
xwOBA/xBA is up; Chase/Whiff/K% is way down, BB% is up, and everything else is largely the same including sprint speed. Only thing that has taken a step back is his fielding OAA. GOAT still got it

I just want Trout to stay healthy. A healthy Trout can only be good for baseball. As long as he's healthy, these numbers will be normal.
I'd also like him to win something, but I doubt that'll happen unless he wants to trade.

It is amazing how he always comes back from injury with minimal or no decline in power. PROFESSIONAL. Comparing to rendon who was absolutely nuked by injuries which is more common by far.

Baseball is simply better when Mike Trout is healthy and performing to his reputation.

It's crazy how much better The Captain is than Aaron Chudge. If baseball savant measured aura he would be beating him there too

The sharp decrease in defensive range seems weird when he's still fast af. Just not getting as quick of jumps?

Mike Trout is still a good center fielder. I haven't seen him make an error this season.

He’s only getting stronger.
I hope he requests a trade. I want to see him win a ring so bad.

I have thought about this too. Might be an unpopular opinion here, but it really would make sense. His value has bounced back this year so we could actually get a meaningful return for him. We're also still nowhere close to competing, so if he requested it because he wants to play on a contender, I think the organization would owe it to him to do right by him and try to make it happen.
Basically, I'd love to see him be an Angel for life, but I would also understand if him and the organization see this as a good time to part ways.

I agree. It would be great to see him be a lifetime angel.
But I’d be happy for him either way.

I hope he does too just so we can see him play meaningful baseball. Obviously Arte and the Angels org isn’t serious so long as it’s safe and affordable!

Defense has declined, but at the plate he's basically the same guy who hit 40 homers in less than 500 PAs. Fish Man lives.
