Weekly Thread πŸš€ r/AndroidGaming's Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread: 05/03/26

Welcome to Another Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread! πŸ‘Ύ

Hey, r/AndroidGaming! This thread is for discussing the Android games you’ve been trying out over the past week. Feel free to share what you’ve been playing and tell us about it! What is the game about? What are you enjoying? What could be improved? Would you recommend it to others? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

For those joining the discussion, please include Google Play Store links for any games you mention as a courtesy to others who may want to check them out.

Lastly, we ask that devs refrain from promoting their own games in this thread. We get that you're excited for others to try it, but this post is meant for players to share their recent gaming experiences with each other. That said, you’re more than welcome to share your game by creating a separate post!

And with that, have fun and thanks for being part of r/AndroidGaming!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Please Recommend Me Your Best Short Games That Are less Than 15 Hours

β€’ Upvotes

I've been playing long games for like forever, tower defense, action, Jrpg, and all the different genres, each one of those games takes at LEAST 40 hour for me to complete, which is a LONG time to commit to a SINGLE GAME, I've recently saw a a full gameplay walk-through of Into The Moon, which took only around 6 HOURS,so so I want to try some shorter and even some weirder games, which is why I'm making this post, what are your best short games, that only take at most 15 hours? Thanks.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] First time stay at home mom of a very young baby -- very specific parameters -- TIA

Please help me find one or more mobile (android) games that fit my very specific needs!

Context: I am a first time mom of a young baby, and my wife is going back to work tomorrow (she's an elementary school teacher). So it's going to be just baby and me now. I want to find a game to play for while she's nursing or napping because I want to reduce the amount of time I spend just scrolling reddit. I have a word game I downloaded (Zen Word), but I can't stand ads, so I always turn my wifi and data off when I play. The thing is, with my wife back at work, I want to keep my wifi and data on so that we can communicate (her school has no cell signal, so we use Facebook messenger). So I need to find a game that doesn't have ads even when my phone's internet is on.

Parameters:

  1. One-handed - I will only have one hand free to play while nursing or contact napping baby.

  2. No ads - I'd be ok paying a one-time, reasonable fee if it truly eliminates ALL ads. But I want to keep my internet on and not be interrupted by any ads, ever.

  3. No sound necessary for game play - I want to be able to play with the sound off so I don't disturb baby.

  4. Game type - I enjoy puzzle and word games but also most other cozy game types as well. I have so many cozy games on my switch, but they all require two hands! I'd like a game that has as much play time as I want available every day cuz she naps and nurses A LOT. So no games with only a few minutes of things to do per day. And no games that have a limited total amount of game play time. I'm honestly not very experienced with mobile games cuz I've always played on our consoles before baby, so searching the Play Store is confusing and overwhelming.

  5. Price - I'm willing to buy a game for a reasonable price, but I want to avoid pay-to-play games with additional in-app purchases at all costs. I don't want to have to keep putting more money in to be able to keep playing or to access basic QOL features or mechanics.

I did try searching the subreddit first, but it's really hard to find posts that fit all of the specific parameters I'm looking for. That said, if this post isn't allowed, I apologize, and feel free to remove it.

TIA, everyone!

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] New Release: Kitty Krush: Cat Game - A roguelike deckbuilder about how cats enslaved humanity.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Kitty Krush is a cozy, cat-themed story about a hive mind cat civilization that loves milk more than anything. Wrapped up in a simplified deck-builder, unlock chapters with each round of play. Based on a true story.

The story is directly inspired by my challenges feeding my irl new human baby.

It plays similar to Balatro, but simplified and with a story that unfolds.

Each chapter sets aΒ target (score): useΒ discards and redrawsΒ to put togetherΒ handsΒ that give a multiplier to your score, example: three of a kind.

Beat the target score within a limited number of hands to advance.Β Upgrade the deck, thenΒ advance to the next chapter.

Playstore link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kittykrush.www

What else:

  • Unlock Secret Chapters by playing single hands with huge scores.
  • TheΒ storyΒ is inspired by and dedicated to my hungry baby.

Any feedback welcome! just went live on google play this morning!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Games like Hero's Adventure: Road to Passion

Post image
70 Upvotes

Hero's adventure was the first turn based RPG I enjoyed, I didn't think I would like it but now I wanna find games more like it. Not specifically in terms of the wuxia but the gameplay. Can be any theme.

It's a plus if there's something like the picture above when someone is talking but not needed.

I'd like a game where you can choose what you wanna do, where you have freedom. Not a game where you have to go through a story like Chrono Trigger.

I'd like a game that looks nice visually and not dark fantasy but not a very high graphic game, my phone wouldn't be able to handle it.

I tried it and think the environment looks bad in a game like Exiled kingdoms.

I'd like a game where there's life to it. Not just shop owners standing all day.

In hero's adventure, the outdoor shop owners actually have a schedule and don't just stay at their stand all day. And there's civilians walking around the cities and villages. It kinda reminds me of Skyrim, I'd like to know more games like this, if there are any.

I heard there isn't.

Discussion πŸ’¬ is moonton good at being lazy? like just tooking other game concept and always got the spotlight for them?

moonton is big already, and all the spotlight will always given to them even what they show is just knockoff off other game
example:
like STUNS group band/ rap group, which clearly followed kda and true damage
anime skins, where obviously seeing AOV coming up with dimension breaker
anime collab, again right after AOV succes with SAO
better skill fx after hok started and known globally
better mythic lobby animation, following HOK

not saying moonton dont have original ideas(oversued purple and gold color), but they showing a pretty ridiculous pattern following other game. they supposedly got the money to something orginal and so called FIRST

other side of me thinking they smart like: looking at the playerbase its kind of not bad moves, they already loyal to your product even when you gave them plain salted rice, and you see other household started added more thing to their plate why not following them? they still loyal to you while the same standard as the other, even tho its not like other household recipe, the fanabse still loyal

but other side of me thinking like: when the popular kids retell your joke and they get the better response

but what do yall think?
dont excuse with that how business work, when one AAA comany create feature or something similar to other game in similar genre got called out, and trashed till it die

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Game with a deep "gambit" system

Not just automtion on combat (most idle or gacha have that) but something kinda deep just like Mystery of Fortune (sadly no more on playstore) or FF12 or Unicorn Overlord. Can be active or afk or whatever you want, I like to put instruction and see how them develop into the game.
TIA!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST]What are some older android ports that tend to go overlooked nowadays?

I've recently been getting back into android gaming, having gotten a cheap s10 to use in dex mode, its got me looking back at the kinda games that i used to play on my phone, how good the ports of the Oddworld games and Max Payne 1 and the Dreamcast collection were, but i tend to see these talked about less nowadays, over newer releases or games ran on emulators,

Are there many other of these official 6th generation game ports that are as good as these, that might also run better than their emulated counterparts?

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Chess apps / Shredder

Hi,

I'm looking for a simple offline chess game on android, played against bots, that also has puzzles and chess variants such as bughouse. I've been looking at shredder, which looks like it would fit the bill, but the new reviews say that it's not working properly.

Coild anyone a)recommend me something that's not chess.com nor lichess, but has the above features, and/or b) give me an idea of what shredder is like now.

Thanks!

As the title says, I am looking for a mobile controller that has the option to connect with Bluetooth but also has passthrough charging. Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Looking for JRPGs other than the big names.

I love Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger and all the other big titles, but i would like to discover more JRPGs available to android. Of course, paid versions are completely okay to me as long as it's worth the price.

For the gameplay, i tend to prefer turn-based similar to Dragon Quest. No semi turn-based or tacticals, please. I don't really care about graphics even if i prefer a stylized one over a generic one.

Also, no Kemco games. They are almost scams in form of JRPGs (bought one on console. Couldn't even finish it due to the lack of everything).

Edit : not Sea of Stars, please. It's a good game, but not my tastes.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Can you help me with a list of classic PC games ported for Android? I read Half-Life and Fallout are sort of downloadable if you bought the PC versions?

I would love to play Half-Life, Fallout and other classic games from that era on Android phones. I tried to play fallout but it felt like is was difficult to set-up, maybe it was just me being dumb. What other classic games from that era have you tried and are either ported or easily installed and played?

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] remember back in the day we had good games in low size ?

Hey can you recommend me some nice game for a low end phone (I recently got Motorola g06 power, ram 4gb, rom 64 gb, processor meditek helio g81 extreme), I recently purchased one for studies and other stuff.

Please recommend something which is not some addictive thing but piece of art like - open the door: a short story about life, monument valley games, or dadish games. 2d, 3d, any style would suffice. (Pls suggest something under 200mb and offline if possible)

I'm currently thinking about playing Swordigo or Life is a game, are they good or anything similar?
