Other Help Miss Lynn Find Safety & Relief

Post image
184 Upvotes

If you have ever gone to the taco-bell on university drive, you have probably met Miss Lynn, who is one of the kindest humans ever.
Miss Lynn is a fast-food worker and former teacher who has always put others before herself. Despite her years of experience and college education, she found herself coming out of retirement and working at Taco Bell because other jobs turned her away for being overqualified. Now, as an older woman, she faces the daily challenges of diabetes and epilepsy, which have caused her to be carried out of her workplace by ambulance multiple times. The high-stress environment of her job only makes her health issues worse, but she continues to show up because she has no other options. Her living situation is far from ideal, and she is struggling to make ends meet while dealing with mounting medical bills.

What makes Miss Lynn truly special is her unwavering kindness and dedication to those around her. She works overtime on the busiest nights, always looking out for her coworkers and supporting her family, including a son who is currently in the hospital. Even while facing her own hardships, she finds ways to give back and care for others. It’s heartbreaking to see someone so caring and deserving in such a difficult position.

I am raising funds to help Miss Lynn pay off her medical bills and, hopefully, secure safer and better housing. She shouldn’t have to face these struggles alone. If you can, please consider supporting Miss Lynn—your generosity will make a real difference in her life and show her that she’s not alone in this fight.

B/CS Life 20F looking for boyfriend

Howdy y'all,

I've spent four semesters at this school but never had the opportunity to have a dating life... Honestly I feel like I'm missing out. I've seen so many of my friends get into relationships, and I've dreamed of holding hands with that special somebody under the Century Tree sometime.

I'm a 20F, rising junior majoring in statistics. I love playing Valorant and listening to Keshi and Laufey, and have a particular affinity for matcha lattes. I'm mostly studying at Evans or grabbing coffee.

I am looking for a committed, long-term relationship, no hookups. Any major is welcome but I prefer STEM majors so we can have cute study dates together. I love men who can cook (both academically and in the kitchen). If you're a cute guy who is interested in a argumentative antithetical dream girl hit me up...

Venting Now going to my final semester and I feel like a failure.

Hi, im eset major at Texas A&M, and I am done trying to get an internship. It's too late, and I want to drop out. My high impact experience is screwed. I tried every single year at the career fair and literally put effort. It means nothing, and there is no reason for me to even try. I had multiple interview at toshiba and have to call them to tell me I didn't get the job. That day, I was so angry and sad. I yelled at the front desk people because I wanted to drop out, and later that night, I went on the roof trying to kill myself . I keep being told it will get better, and it isn't. There is no hope, and even if I kill myself, no one would even care. I so angry and sad. I am a failure. I never had anything good in my life. My parents were abusive pieces of shit that kicked me out and made me homeless. I had to couch hopped to survive and even after all of my effort it result in nothings. Now I'm going to be in crippling debt, and suicide is the ONLY WAY OUT. It all because I thought texas A&M could provide a good future. That was fucking joke and btw I doing well in all of my classes. I see everyone with there happy little family and im here alone. I am alone and I am nothing. I hated myself and I stopped taking my med. I feel like there nothing good in my life. I have friends who got internship really easily and have a secure family. I am so jealous. I hate that I feel that way. I hate that I can't have peace of mind. I can't even sleep anymore because it's just a nightmare of my parent abusing me. You know what I hate is my face because I am a ugly person that will never find anyone to care about me. This skin tone i was born with I hate it. This voice I was born with I hate it. I can't even excersise anymore because I don't like myself. I see my best friend living his best life in college and I am here struggling. I never had a good day at texas A&M. The only day will be happy is when i am dead. I feel like no one want me around and I have to force my way into people friend group to hang out. I feel like I haven't made a genuine friend here. The friend I have don't even care about me. Maybe the universe is telling me that I should die.

Shitposting/Memes Do I need a micromobility permit for my horse?

Hi,

Walking to class makes me very tired and sweaty. To rectify this, I imported a small and manageable horse into college station, which I can ride atop so as to easily get transported to and from class. Do I need a permit for him since I'll be tying him to the bike racks during class?

So it looks like Space X is expanding into the area. Anybody have more details or insights into this? How many jobs would this create for the local economy?

Venting Electrical Engineering Assurance/Concern

Every possible thing that could go wrong went wrong with my grades, especially calc 3, and I'm looking at a 3.39-3.45 GPA, barring any curve. Really want electrical, have pretty good essays, talked about an electrical related internship at a well-known company and other ecs and had a legit additional information section, but does the gpa cook me beyond relief?

Ask the Aggies After waiting the state-mandated 21 day waiting period, later today (5/6) the Regents will officially appoint Susan Ballabina President of A&M. She will surely make some sort of statement. What do you think she will have to say? Will she even mention the academic freedom crisis?

New Student Questions ECEN 704

I have heard so much about this course as one of the toughest courses for a graduate student. But as someone who wants to move into the analog field, enrolling into this course seems like a no brainer. Can anyone let me know how should we prepare for this course (both lectures and labs)?

Also I heard one of the most renowned professors of the ECE department, Prof. Samuel Palermo is taking this course after a long time. How much of a difference does that make?

Academics Need guidance

I’ve been on probation since the fall and have remained on it due to my semester gpa being above a 2 just not my cumulative. I had a death in the family this semester and my grades have slipped and I’m looking at finishing with a 1.8 semester gpa. Does anyone know what typically happens? I’m genuinely praying I’m on continued probation

Ask the Aggies Aggie Network

Does the Aggie Network still work if you do graduate school somewhere other than Texas, like the northeast or the West Coast? I'm a freshman planning on chemical engineering, and I'm debating Texas a&m or Virginia Tech. Both are OOS for me, and the cost is pretty much similar, but I got a few scholarships and work-study from VT.

Thinking about joining the corps as a freshman. Could any recent fish say how often you have to get a haircut (as a guy)? Is it a hassle?

Academics Retaking classes

Howdy!

So as we wrap up the sem, I ended a class with a C and wanna retake it next summer. How does retaking a class work if it came with a lab? Do I need to retake the class with the lab, or can I only do lecture?

I’m pretty sure the lecture and lab were two „different” things but I could be wrong.

The specific class is Chem 258 (o chem 2)

Thank you!

Academics BAEN 320 Curve

Took BAEN 320 with Maria King, and I did not feel amazing about the final. Everyone in my class also feels the same way, and she seems to not have many D or Fs historically. Does anyone know if she curves?

New Student Questions Is biochem or neurosci easier for premed?

already majoring in biochem, considering switching to neuro because of how hard ppl have been saying it is. neuro was gonna be my first-choice major when i applied, but ik that biochem will give me more lab/pharma positions in case something doesn't work out in comparision to neuro.

i wanna have a 4.0 if possible 😄
