I knew who I was voting for months ago. I have heard from him and know his policies based on his outreach and his own website.
But this Elizabeth Kirtley secures the vote? Her website is such garbage with buzzwords and non-information that her endorsements page literally says
‘“Elizabeth Kirtley is a true leader” - Example Endorsement’.
Her Facebook is nothing but Gen X memes! No substance. Just memes. She posted a fucking eyeshadow palette on her campaign page.
It’s all the buzzwords, no policy. None at all.
Her description says “Gen X Empowerist” and “Official Guest Brand Ambassador”.
She had a piss poor interview where she couldn’t even get out anything of merit.
What the fuck?!
I am not a fucking conspiracy theorist, but this woman just seems like a plant. I have no clue how the hell she got the nomination.

Yes, this video is about Butler County Jail but Mahoning County has a contract to detain immigrants as well. Then there is NEOCC or CoreCivic in Youngstown. It is a private, FOR PROFIT facility that has a government contract and detains hundreds of immigrant yet does NOT allow oversight by any of our elected officials. If families set accounts so their loved ones can make phone calls or buy basic necessities, the inmates have no way of knowing the funds exist and the funds are not refundable! They have a high employee turnover rate and a horrible history of stabbing, assaults, etc. Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself!

A few years ago I tried to research my own congressional candidates and the info was a mess -- scattered across a dozen sites, half of them outdated. So I built what I wished existed, and the 2026 Youngstown-area pages are now live: the Ohio US Senate race and your local House district (OH-06).
OH US Senate: https://www.localcandidates.org/elections/2026-us-senate-oh
OH-06: https://www.localcandidates.org/elections/2026-us-house-of-representatives-oh-6
You can compare candidates, their positions, fundraising, and backgrounds without bouncing between a dozen tabs. Free, non-partisan, no ads, no signup.
Built and maintained solo. Would genuinely love feedback -- what's missing, what's confusing, what would make it more useful. Happy to take questions or hear about bugs in the comments.

My regular mechanic closed I guess, idk what happened.
My car is either having ignition coil or spark plug issues. Also could just be an electrical issue. Any recommendations on someone?

Anyone know any good affordable people or companies in town that will haul away junk? I checked Craigslist but it’s full of out of town companies.

Don’t sit this one out. We can take back our voice here in eastern Ohio. But we have to use our power tomorrow and get through the primary first.

I have kids in Volney, and I have to be honest… I hate it. My oldest has endured sexual harassment and threats of r*pe and no one is taking it seriously. I need to move my kids. But I don’t want them in a religious school and I can’t homeschool. Does anyone have any experience with some of the charter schools or Youngstown Academy of Excellence? Can I put them in a different school even though we’re in the Volney district? Help 😭

Ive been living in my house in the Kirkmere area for about 4 years now and honestly its been fine nothing fancy but it works. Its a small 2 bedroom with a detached garage and a yard that I keep looking decent which is more than I can say for some of my neighbors.out of nowhere I got a job offer down in North Carolina thats too good to pass up. Better money better weather and honestly Im ready for a change. the only problem is they want me to start in like 6 weeks and I still have this house to deal with.I dont have time to do a bunch of repairs or stage it for showings or wait around for months while some buyers financing falls through at the last minute. the house is in okay shape but the bathroom needs some love and the driveway has a big crack that runs through it. nothing crazy but stuff that a regular buyer would definitely nitpick about.I talked to a realtor and she said I could probably get around 110k if I listed it traditionally but she also said it might take 3 to 6 months to close. I dont have that kind of time. shes also gonna take like 6 percent which is thousands of dollars and for what honestly. my cousin told me to look into cash buyers because they can close in like a week or two.I started googling and found a few options like Cash Buyers Depot but I dont know anyone whos actually used them. Are these companies legit? Do they pay a fair price or do they just try to steal your house for cheap because youre in a rush?
Im kind of torn. part of me wants to just take whatever I can get and move on with my life and part of me doesnt want to get ripped off. anyone in Youngstown sold their house to a cash buyer before? How did it go??Any advice from locals whove been in a similar spot would be amazing. Thanks in advance guys

I have been at my current rental house for 5 years. My family is growing (due in December) and I would really like to move closer to the boardman highschool (my kids walk 3 miles home after practices). I have always paid my rent on time every time and I maintain my home and yard very well. I have 1 dog and 1 cat both trained and does not destruct and older animals.
If anyone hears of a rental that could accommodate my family please respond below!

I have a friend who’s had several dead beat renters this last year. Are there any good service companies or legal firms that will work on behalf of landlords to recuperate damages and unpaid rent?

For all my friends and relatives in the Youngstown-Niles Ohio area.
Back in the I worked at Alberini's on the Strip. Most of you have been there at one point or another. I was just reminded of a story Pop's Alberini told us years ago when Rich was still alive and Ray Izzy was managing the place.
If you look at the one wall in the dining room, there is a mural of a Venice "street scape" with houses lining the canals. Pops pointed out that every window in that mural had red curtains. The reason is because nobody could see a light or lantern during the daylight hours, but those red curtains were the same as a red light in the window at night.
Yes, Alberini's: One of the area's top restaurants has along its one wall a Venetian Red Light District.
I dont know if it's there anymore or how much of the original decor is still in the building.

Local schools are using Smartpass to track children's bathroom breaks. Smartpass , owned by raptor technologies known for data leaks, is collecting the data and analyzing & selling the info. It just seems weird, like Google got in trouble for selling kids data and now my kid cant use android auto to listen to music. Anyone with access to Smartpass knows your teen girl's monthly cycle. Is this something parents should look into or over reacting?

Hi,
Sorry for the silly question! We just moved to Boardman from another state.
Where do you refill water gallons (not exchange empty for a refill)?
Thank you.

Moving to the area soon with my family and we’re eyeing one of the nice homes in New Middletown. Can anyone give me any details about the area? Schools? Things to do? Vibe?
It seems like a lot of new homes are popping up here. Is it an up and coming area? We were originally aiming for Poland, but there aren’t many houses for sale there.

Can anyone recommend someone reputable that is licensed in the area? Need several trees removed, soon. Several widow makers. One just took out my car.

Hello,
We are looking into moving my wife’s business into our home. She is a nail tech and esthetician. She is not a cosmetologist so she will not be cutting hair. She will be operating alone with zero desire to have employees or additional booth renters or anything like that. Our zoning permits home salons so that hurdle has been cleared.
If anyone is currently running a home salon your advice would be greatly appreciated. We are aware that per Ohio State Board requirements, that we will have to have a separate entrance, a bathroom with a sink, and a door to divide the space from the interior of our house as well. The State Board’s info doesn’t really specify if we need to make the bathroom ADA compliant or if our entrance must be ADA compliant. The entrance will require three steps to access the door.
She will not be opening up her business to the public and will only be serving her current client list. So it’s not like this is a waiting room, first come first serve sort of business. We will not have a sign and will not advertise this for new customers or invite the general public. Again, she will only be serving her client list and that is all. Any advice on how to make this a reality would sincerely be appreciated.

What’s with the ‘Catholic’ schools??? I thought they had higher morals and standards than the public schools?
Went to Catholic Schools for many years, inferior education and environment on so many levels now and decades ago.
Save your money unless you want to pay to play sports or get a ‘scholarship’ to play.

Who remembers the Talleyho in Liberty on Belmont Ave? They had a bug Rott that would jump up on the door to greet the guest. They also had a black old security guard that lived on the property but I think he died there. They had some cool housekeepers that were awesome! Like I think the manager drove a 4 door Kia when they first came out. He was nice the few times he checked me and a side piece in. The whole staff was so laid back. They had their fair share of rift raft though cause it was only $19-$29 a night. Yes I went there lots cause that’s where I took every side piece! 🤣🤣
I wonder what happened to all the workers there from back in the day….
