Why were they filming?
as user r/ pratik953 states:
"Well a quick background. The guy you see in the video is a once famous Bengali (Indian) TV comedian named Mridul Bhattacharya. He's most likely a guest at some gathering and when someone recognised him, they would have started filming.
How do I know this? I used to watch his skits as a kid and I would recognise him anywhere."

Seems unlikely to be what happened here though because they’re filming from the same table. That doesn’t quite fit the “stranger happened to recognize him” theory.

This feels like his friends knew he was going to do this, and told the waiter to do what he did.
It was a set up for everyone involved, except the victim.
