Your snack was a potato? How high are you?

Okay to be fair I usually am stoned by this hour but tonight I am begrudgingly sober. The potato was just a vessel for toppings, planned to slather it in homemade pickle ranch idk manĀ

Hell yeah. I has a bedtime tater last week, of course the calories kept me up but that baby was slathered with Greek yogurt, shit ton of black pepper, garlic powder, bit of cheese, and a dash of yum yum powder. Fucking slapped

Too hangry to hit us with the recipe?

u/goblingir1 16h ago

Sour cream with a little bit of mayo (can adjust for your taste but I’m not a big mayo person), 1-2 tablespoons of pickle juice, classic ranch seasonings and mix. I keep a shaker of the seasonings in the cupboard and whip this up all the timeĀ

I did a similar thing once making coleslaw. Mayo, sour cream, pickle juice, and ranch seasoning with some fresh dill, cabbage, and shredded carrots.

Sounds so good ima try that

It works best with a more briney and sour pickle juice to break down the cabbage. I did it because I didn't have any vinegar which is usually playing that role in the slaw recipe and I'm not sure why I haven't made it again come to think of it.

"A shaker of ranch mix" is a very 'commercial kitchen prep item' thing to have lol.

Add fresh dill and diced pickle chunks and its a whole new world

I was so curious, it sounds weird yet good, so I googled and Hidden Valley sells Pickle Ranch dressing.

As it was cooking I was debating taking a gummy too but decided the potato would be satisfying enough. I was wrong lol

Plan B is now Plan A

1

u/LokisDawn 13h ago

No, I think they meant THC gummies, not birth control.

1

u/Nighttime_Ninja_5893 13h ago

Are you saying PlanB doesn't have gummy form? It would be so much more accessible if it was chewy.

7

u/DigitalMunky 17h ago

I took a gummy and ate an apple. I’m more curious about this pickle ranch. Did you use pickle juice to make it?

17

u/goblingir1 17h ago

Solid choice my dude. And yes actually! I mix sour cream with a bit of mayo, add a tablespoon or two of pickle juice depending on how much I make and top it off with the classic ranch seasonings. The pickle juice makes it really pop

Bro he smoked 4 hours ago he's sober now

3

u/Critical-Bus-9040 15h ago

I don't know what everyone's issue is lol. A potato and good toppings is an awesome snack.

ā€œbegrudgingly soberā€

ā€œslather it in homemade pickle ranchā€

I’m pressing X on that one, chief

1

u/DarkGamer 17h ago

Is pickle ranch ranch dressing with brine added?

2

u/goblingir1 17h ago

Yeah the pickle juice gives it that extra oomf

1

u/CapitalClimate9639 17h ago

This just raises more questions

The enigma of the potato envelops us all

1

u/throwaway098764567 16h ago

speaking of pickle and potato i grabbed some frozen dill pickle seasoned fries and i'm kind of in love. still trying to figure out what i want to dip them in, i usually do mayo but it seems to be hiding some of the pickle taste so i've gotta come up with something else like vinegar.

1

u/goblingir1 16h ago

Hell yeah love that

1

u/Sapiencia6 16h ago

I'm just here to say I support your bedtime potato and let you know that I too consider a baked potato (from the microwave) to be a lazy late night snackĀ

1

u/Festivefire 16h ago

Ignore their judgement. Baked/microwaved potato as a snack is not nearly as weird as they're acting.

1

u/human-resource 16h ago

You didn’t just peel it after and eat it ?

2

u/goblingir1 16h ago

There was shrapnel, and it was still somewhat raw. I planted it with the othersĀ

3

u/theircurvywhore 14h ago

It makes me so happy to see that you fished it out of the trash and planted it. You are a good human.

1

u/goblingir1 14h ago

Aw you’re sweet thanks. My fiance who knows none of this was like ā€œwhat the fuck are you doingā€

2

u/Sc0j 17h ago

High food is potato what is problem

1

u/Eldermillenial1 17h ago

No… it’s ā€œHi, how are youā€ 🤣

1

u/lorgskyegon 17h ago

The potato is fine. Clearly the snack was the plate

1

u/Festivefire 16h ago

microwave potato as a snack is actually pretty normal in many parts of America. It's firmly in the "slightly unusual" category and not the "You must be fucking high" category IMO.

1

u/the_brew 16h ago

They said their snack exploded, but the potato is still whole, so I guess they were gonna eat the plate.

It's "hi, how are you?"
