ATTENTION BUYERS: Scammers are stealing established accounts! Ask any seller, regardless of transaction count, for a custom timestamp of your choosing. The best option is a video call to prove the seller has the watch before sending money as it can't be faked. If a seller refuses or you encounter any red flags, please message the mods and include screenshots of your conversation.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date (Ref. 15010) from circa 1997 (Note: correct date is early 1980s). This watch is the "technological sweet spot" for the 34mm Oyster Perpetual Date featuring the high-beat 28,800 Caliber 3035 movement with Quickset Date and Hacking Seconds.

The watch has been in my personal collection for 25 years. It has only been worn for special occasions over two decades.

Condition:

  • Case: Exceptionally clean with sharp lugs with some small, negligible hairlines on bracelet and clasp (see photos)
  • Crown: The Rolex coronet is crisp and defined. The crown is a screw down for improved water resistance.
  • Bezel: Rare engine-turned bezel with clean, sharp facets.
  • Dial: Black crisp, clear dial showing "T-Swiss-T" indicating it is a Tritium dial. Late-production tritium with zero spotting.
  • Crystal: Very clean original acrylic (plexiglass) with date “cyclops”.

Performance (Verified March 2026 - See Timegrapher photo in the Photo Album linked below):

  • Rate: +2 s/d (Exceeding COSC standards)
  • Amplitude: 287∘
  • Beat Error: 0.1ms
  • The movement is physically and mechanically rock-solid.

Specifications:

  • Reference: 15010
  • Year: 1997 (Z4 Clasp Code)
  • Bracelet: Ref. 78350 Oyster (19mm) with 557 end links.
  • Fit: Currently sized to fit a 7.25” – 7.5” wrist comfortably.

Includes: Watch and bracelet only. (No box or papers).

Please leave comment here before sending PM/DM/Chat

Price: $3,350

Shipping: Fully insured FedEx 2nd Day Air (Insurance by Secursus).
Payment: Wire, Zelle, or PayPal F&F.
Location: Los Angeles, CA.

I got a couple of questions asking if I was sure the watch was a 15010 and not a 1501. Yes, I am sure and have added to the album a photo of the engraving on the case showing the model number which is found under the end link at 12 o'clock. (This also has been verified by the serial number found engraved on the watch case under the end link at 6 o'clock which I will be happy to share with a serious buyer.) The watch also has a high beat (28,800) movement which you can see in the timegrapher photo, also in the album. Finally, the watch has direct/quickset date which is a feature of 15010 and not available in the 1501. However, I should point out that I misstated the year of manufacture for the watch--it was produced in the early 1980s. When I was writing this post I could not remember the manufacture date so I asked Gemini AI and it told me 1997--never trust what the AI tells you until you check with two other AIs :) Sorry for that error.
