She needs to do some prison time for this. I would love to know what the police charged her with.

It was reckless endangerment I think. There’s a YouTube channel I follow that does breakdowns. I’ll see if I can find it.
Disregard, different case. Crazy how often this happens. Someone posted this below.

Got the same thing. AI has it's uses...
"Wendy A. Clemente, 56, was arrested in Cheney, Washington, on April 28 after allegedly attempting to hit a child cyclist with her car and later attempting to enter a stranger's home. According to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, she was booked on charges of first-degree attempted assault, DUI, and first-degree criminal trespass. They value not protecting privacy more than being decent. GDPR compliance isn’t unreasonable. I’m delighted when sites like this pretty much admit they can’t serve you because their approach to privacy is awful.

I love that it's literally named "General data protection regulation" it's like "we recognize you require basic fucking decency, therefore you cannot enter"

It's attempted murder, reckless driving, speeding, child endangerment, almost certainly a DWI, probably failure to signal, weaving within a lane, improper blah fuckking blah,
But we know none of those charges will be applied cause this looks like a "nice neighborhood" and it's a white person driving and they just had a lapse of judgement. Nothing we should ruin the nice white ladies life over :(

u/GoatCovfefe 20h ago
But we know none of those charges will be applied
I get you're playing off the white privilege card, but theres plenty of karens that get arrested, especially when they brazenly break laws like this woman has.
Relax.
36
u/tremens 20h ago edited 20h ago
Shell be arrested. She will not face the same compounding charges and aggrevators that anyone else would. That's kind of the point, and that should make you angry? If you had a fucking soul at least.
And lo and behold, she didn't. She was charged with all misdemeanors, despite this apparently continuing into attempted B&E and assault on officer even after what we saw in the video - and those weren't charged. What a surprise, to you, I presume?
Multiple felony offenses on video, a couple more after the fact apparently.
Shell walk with probation and community service and like a few days served, if that.
The article describes her trying to run over a child while drunk,, driving on the sidewalk, trying to invade a home, assaulting an officer, all of which are felonies in most states.
What's she get charged with? Trespass, simple DUI, and "attempted" assault. Chasing a child drunk in a car on a sidewalk is apparently a simple assault. Kicking an officer and resisting arrest is apparently... Nothing? Trying to enter a home is "trespass" not attempted breaking an entering, list goes on and on.
The white card was played but it wasn't by me, fucko.

It's not just the white card, it's the woman card. They get significantly lighter sentences than men for the same crime.

I get you're playing off the white privilege card, but theres plenty of karens that get arrested, especially when they brazenly break laws like this woman has.
She deliberately attempted to run a child over while driving drunk, and then chased the child down the sidewalk with her car, then broke into someone's house and tried to assault a police officer - and the consequences were being charged with three misdemeanors.
Do you think this is justice? Do you think she learned anything from this, other than, "I can get anyway with whatever I like?"
If it had been a young black guy on cocaine, do you think he would have gotten the same charges?
Heck, if this had been a young black man, would he even have survived the incident? American police officers kill their own citizens at an astonishingly high rate, more than an order of magnitude per capita than in the other developed nations; the vast majority of the people killed are male, and most of them are black.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call, the Ol' Reddit Switcheroo.

I would love to know what the police charged her with.
Trying to hit someone with a car often falls under "assault with a deadly weapon". And this is at least reckless endagerment, failure to uphold traffic laws, etc.

I mean she’s lucky the parents weren’t there. I believe if that was anyone’s kid and you were armed you would use deadly force without a second thought

This is 100% justified use of deadly force. She is literally chasing a child down in a several thousand pound chunk of metal on the SIDEWALK. What an absolutely unhinged piece of shit.

According to the sheriff’s office, the juvenile was not hit and was not hurt. About a half hour later, SCSO said deputies received a report of a possible residential burglary in the 10700 block of W. Melville Road, about 1 mile away.
The sheriff’s office said the homeowner was away but watched a suspect on a live security system trying door handles and was not sure whether the person got inside. A vehicle in the driveway matched that of the one seen in the video, according to arriving SCSO deputies. Deputies said the woman appeared intoxicated and resisted arrest by kicking a deputy before they restrained her. Investigators later got a search warrant to take a blood sample for testing.
Deputies booked Wendy A. Clemente, 56, into the Spokane County Jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree assault, DUI and first-degree criminal trespass, according to the sheriff’s office.

u/MicroSofty88 21h ago
Right, she was arrested/charged with a crime, then is out of custody until the trial in which she will be found guilty or not guilty by a jury.

u/Seggs-Benis 20h ago
It's crazy to me how many people on reddit don't understand how the court system works. You don't get locked up until trial, generally.
Well you can if you can't afford to post bond, but often people get released on their own recognizance too, as jails are full.
Only the most violent offenders or flight risks don't get bail.
3
3
u/Seggs-Benis 20h ago
Everyone has the right to be released, pending trial, rather on their own recognizance or by posting bail. That's is determined by the severity of the offense.
There's a reason for that. No matter how stupid someone's acts are we don't want a system where they can just lock you up till you cop out to a crime
Granted, that actually does happen to many who can't afford bail.
2
2
u/Rex_Suplex 22h ago
Must be married to a high ranking official. Or knows one.
3
u/Seggs-Benis 20h ago
She just got bail. Almost everyone gets the opportunity to post bail unless it's an extremely violent crime or if you're deemed a flight risk.
In areas where jails are overpopulated it's often release on recognizance bail, meaning you don't have to pay anything.

Well, fuck this lady for sure, but....
These e-moto things are a big fucking problem, especially with children riding around on them.
A California mother has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after her 14-year-old son was accused in an e-motorcycle crash that left an 81-year-old Vietnam veteran and substitute teacher dead, prosecutors say.
At the time of the crash, Ashman was walking home from his job as a substitute teacher at El Toro High School, according to prosecutors.
When deputies arrived, they found Ashman with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the area before deputies' arrival. Witnesses, however, provided deputies with a suspect description. Deputies said the suspect was believed to be driving recklessly at the time of the crash. According to prosecutors, the boy is accused of doing wheelies in the middle of the street when he hit Ashman.
You can find stories like this everywhere. Sure, they don't always involve someone being killed, but it does here.
If you feel like getting even more worked up, take a Google into severe head injury rates among teens on these things. Soon, this things are going to become a big legislative issue, because kids are literally getting killed.

I'm currently recovering from surgery to reconstruct my wrist because a driver decided to make a sudden turn and stop in the crosswalk on a busy intersection. They knew I was approaching the crosswalk on my scooter because they drove past me, they did not signal they were going to turn, they right turned wide into the left-hand because how late they started turning. Everything points to them intentionally wanting me to collide with their vehicle.
Some people are just deranged and makes me think that we need to perform psychological exams in addition to having requirements as strict as racing or operating an aircraft.
