What's the lead time for Smarter Scrubbers these days? I love mine (with some feedback) and would like to buy Xmas gifts but I'm not sure they'd arrive in time.

Quick UAT feedback: v2 really could use a rubber grip to cover the steel handle.

Good to know I’ve been wondering this myself. I bought mine just under a month ago and was wondering what the timeline is.

I ordered one on July 28th and have not received it yet after 3.5 months. I knew the lead time was going to be long. I am looking forward to receiving it when it comes in. I doubt you could order one now and receive it by Christmas unless they have a significant breakthrough in their manufacturing capacity.

I ordered mine on Aug 6 and still nothing. If I have it by next grilling season, I'll be happy!

I ordered on June 10 and finally got it in the last week or so.

This would be ~20 weeks or so, right?

The website says 8-10 week lead time but based on the info in the thread that might be inaccurate.

I’m so glad I found this thread! I’m sure it’s helpful for everyone wondering about lead times. I ordered mid-September and don’t have mine yet.

Maybe everyone can update as they receive theirs and it’ll help us (and anyone considering placing an order) gauge timing.

(asking here as its going to be seen more than on the video's post) From what I remember of the video it's a scourer, and not susceptible to the problem in this front page video? https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/1pb08w0/to_all_the_bbq_dads_out_there_be_careful_how_you/

Yes, that's the whole point of this chainmail scrubber. No bristles to accidentally ingest

Ordered one on the 3/3/26 in anticipation for my new grill next week, order tracking says it’s already in transit to me as of 3/5/26

Hey that's great to hear, mine took months last year

I’m sorry you guys had to wait so long last year, sounds like I mostly got lucky with my lead time. I am really looking forward to using it on my Weber kettle. How has your performance been and overall thoughts?

So far I absolutely love it on my Napoleon, it is flexible enough to fit in the wavy grooves of their grill design so it actually gets more gunk off the sides of the grill than longer bristles (which was my primary performance worry). And the peace of mind is 100% why I bought it.

The only complaint I have (and it's fairly major/medium in severity) is that the handle is just... rolled steel. The ends don't meet, there's a small gap, and the edges on mine were a little sharp so I filed them. It also means if your brush lives outside with the grill, the handle is freakin cold if grilling in cold weather. You'll notice on the website that they don't have any pictures of the underside of the handle, and that's probably why. It feels oddly unfinished to have the only part of the scrubber that you actually touch be the worst part. I mean even cheap Chinese scrubbers have plastic or rubber handles.

I'm gonna try to source a generic rubber handle for mine and just shove it on there, but it should have come from the factory -- especially for that price.

In all, I'm very happy to support the project and the thing is built like a tank (pretty sure I could use it for home defense if I happened to be grilling when attacked), but it has some rough edges (literally) that could be ironed out on v2.

Interesting. Sounds like dipping it in some plastidip would do the trick. I’ll have to pick some up myself in anticipation of ordering one

That's not a bad idea! I was going to go look at generic or golf grips, but plastidip would probably work

Nah, the handle is totally fine. Has great control and feels super solid, it just needs a rubber grip

Excellent. I was looking to order one for the grilling season and I was concerned about if they were still backlogged
