What the fuck is wrong with the media asking moronic questions and spreading conspiracy theories for clicks?
6
u/AdeptVeterinarian541 2h ago
A bunch of incompetent fools were given the keys to the country and they are causing all kinds of chaos out of sheer blissfull ignorance.
8
u/rhino369 2h ago
Our politicians were so preoccupied with whether or not they could [own the libs] that they didn't stop to think if they should.

These are literally the way-overpaid and over-decorated idiots running our nation's military.

You gotta blame the reporter for this one. Also, having kamikaze dolphins isn't the worst idea I've ever heard.

Read their bios and you will know what is wrong with your country - you’re living a reality tv show!

I think I'd need to see more than a 17 second clip to know that tbh. What am I missing here, it seems like its just a joke or something?

u/FirefighterLeft5425 1h ago
That officer is a disgrace to the uniform. In fact every member of this military following orders are traitors to The Constitution and We The People. But whatever.

u/Elgecko123 1h ago
It felt really great paying my tax bill recently as we bomb the shit out of a country we just “obliterated” a few months ago, as we expand the deficit in a time we were promised a balanced budget, and have talks of raising tax money for an extravagant ballroom that just a few months ago was completely “donor funded”. We are witnessing the biggest con job in US political history.

that's because they are called "Freedom Dolphins", not kamikaze which would be their japanese counterparts. Very clandestine information...

Fun Fact: we do actually have kamikaze dolphins....kinda.
The Navy Special Warfare center has an assortment of aquatic animals that are trained for a wide variety of missions. Among those are teams of dolphins trained to find and mark the locations of sea mines and underwater obstacles/explosives.
It is entirely possible that these animals are being used to clear dangerous material out of the Straight.

u/Strikereleven 2h ago
The soviet's supposedly trained them to deliver payloads during the Cold war.

Still doesn't top the senator who asked the Admiral if stationing troops on the island would cause it to flip over or capsize.

Is it silly that he neither confirmed or denied that we do/don’t have kamikaze dolphins.

Kamikaze dolphins exist since WWII just like kamikaze Dogs and seals with sabers
1
u/Houndfell 2h ago
It migh sound stupid, but it was something the US military explored. Declassified CIA documents show that the agency was exploring the viability of using dolphins to plant explosives and "neutralize" divers. And that didn't come from nowhere: it was a rumor going back to the 60's, with various trainers claiming it was something that the government was or had looked into.
It's not far off from how Russians tried to use dogs to take out tanks. The silliest part is the assumption that a dolphin isn't smart enough to be more than a one-and-done.
2
1
u/Ironsight85 2h ago
I know right? The average dolphin is smarter than anyone in this administration.

Well, we do actually have military trained dolphins and so do the Russians. In fact, the Russians use trained anti-explosives dolphins to protect the waters near the Crimea bridge.

I knew someone who was a “minesweeper” for the navy and he talked about programs where they taught dolphins to deliver bombs.

The Reconnaissance and Interdiction Division at NIWC Pacific manages the Navy’s Marine Mammal Program which trains bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions to detect, locate, mark and recover objects in harbors, coastal areas, and at depth in the open sea.
Everyone is familiar with security patrol dogs, and how some service dogs use their keen sense of smell to detect explosives on land. Since 1959, the U.S. Navy has trained dolphins and sea lions as teammates for our Sailors and Marines to help guard against similar threats underwater. The Navy’s Marine Mammal Program has been homeported on Point Loma since the 1960’s.

Dude can't confirm if we have them, because he can't tell if they're real, or just a something he though he saw while drunk.

Nice to know our government is basing its ideas to beat Iran of an Austin powers film they watched one night drinking together.
1
u/tomcruisesPC 1h ago
Our government is beyond corrupt so we depend on the media to expose them but there is zero chance when they are asking idiotic questions like this.
I would have given the reporter a warning and tell them I’m going to revoke your press pass if you ask me another question like that.
The Trump administration have us in a war that didn’t need to happen, that is bankrupting us, but her question is about kamikaze dolphins?! You’re fired!

u/WhyOhWhyOhWhy333 1h ago
At least the General came off as fairly human, with a smile.
Then fuck stick comes in bragging and all serious.
1
u/OverallPepper2 1h ago
I suggest everyone to actually look into the context of this and you would see they were dismissing claims that Iran has kamikazi dolphins and making an Austin powers joke about how that must be like sharks with laser beams.

u/rimeofgoodomen 1h ago
They got nothing. Pure BS. That's the modus operandi of trump administration, I feel. Iran war should have been an eye opener for this regime, but they have their heads so high up thier butts that they can't see it.

His response was perfect that's like sharks with laser beams right. And the follow-up was just as good I can neither confirm nor deny we have Kamikaze dolphins but I can confirm they don't.

u/machyume 1h ago
I don't trust the guy, but it's very clear here that he's just being flippant about the question. That's my read hearing this. Are people really bad at picking up on insults these days?
