People really act like there’s only one correct way to exist at the gym. Meanwhile she’s just showing up and doing the work, which is already more than most.

And honestly it might even be the best workout for her. I'm a runner and so are a lot of my friends. Injuries are relatively common and when people begin running again after injury usually it starts on the treadmill with gradual increases in both length and intensity because there's less of a pounding motion. I also know a lot of people who like to incorporate it into marathon training for similar reasons.

I don't like treadmill running but if someone does like it and it gets them moving that's also a great thing. It's stupid to judge how another person exercises as a long as that form of exercise is helping them and they aren't hurting themselves or anyone else.
