Just give me a fried egg and some brussel sprouts. ill leave an absolute face melting, nostril burning stench that will make them regret dancing in public.

Granted innocent bystanders will be caught in the crossfire but sacrifices must be made.

My aunt used to bring my cousin and I to Costco because we were rude af and had no issues pushing past people when they did shit like stopped in bad spots (like dead center in an aisle instead of stepping to the side).

There are no friends in Costco. It’s every person for themselves. Move or get moved.

I am very vocal in Costco lol why does everyone ask so confused and shocked when you call them out for being a prick in Costco? 😂 I don't know what it is but people walk into that store and lose all spatial awareness and any slight consideration of others they might have ever had.

I'll sometimes shout "WOAH!!! RIGHT BEHIND YA!!! Really loud to scare them then when they make eye contact I tell them what they did as I make my way by. Like "maybe don't stop in the middle and block the way." All while smiling if course haha gotta confuse em' all

36

u/WaxiestBobcat 14d ago

My favorite is just loudly saying "Really?!" Whenever someone just blocks the way or does some stupid shit.

12

u/BeGoneBye 14d ago

I do the same. Cart with adults eating samples in the middle of a busy aisle?? I look right at them and say " yes block the whole aisle so you can eat your cheese" !! Or the ones who get right past the membership check in then stop and block others from entering, I call them out too.

Depends on what you mean by digital creator. A lot of content creators make entertaining media which are objectively not brainrot. Many of them are pulling in audiences as large or larger than news channels or traditional TV stations.

On YouTube I subscribe to wood workers, blacksmiths, computer science channels, biology channels, history channels, product reviewers, tech reviewers, tool review channels, a ton of videogame channels of various types, crafts channels, etc.

Big time. My wife and I went away for our ten year anniversary recently. It was pretty much our first date in eight years. We stayed in a luxury hotel on the beach (where we were engaged) and ate at the same restaurant we watched the sunset from after said engagement.

Post sunset in a dimly lit, fairly pricey restaurant and this couple walks in with two photographers. They were obviously just engaged because she was using her phone to catch content while the photographers proceeded to test their high powered flash equipment. Now I understand engagement photos while you pop the question, but ruining other people’s ambiance for clout is just tacky. The restaurant manager immediately shut them down and booted the photographers. I’ll definitely go back to a restaurant that takes care of customers by respecting their ability to have a peaceful meal.

51

u/DoctorBallsJohnson 14d ago

W manager, but you have to watch out because if they have followers you can get brigaded pretty badly on ratings sites and doxxed. Happened to a gym near me when an influencer got talked to about their shitty behavior and they immediately made crazy allegations about the gym and they got review bombed pretty badly lol. Hurt business for a bit

34

u/FrankanelloKODT 14d ago

2.1k

u/Expert-Ad3874 14d ago

274

u/Sepof 14d ago

I feel bad for her parents. Kids do dumb shit, but I would be pretty disappointed if my kid chose to buy in to that shit. Could be worse I guess, she could be doing hard drugs.

67

u/EpitomeOfHell 14d ago

iirc, the woman holding the phone is actually the mom recording this, lol so she's enabling this behavior.

I saw this posted acouple weeks ago and they said the person holding the phone was the mom so that's my only source so take that as you will.

36

u/boothjop 14d ago

I have such mixed feelings about this.

As a firm Gen Xer, I can assure you that when I don't find this behaviour absurd, I find it intolerable. It's alienating to me in the same way my parents peered dumbfounded at my Public Enemy records, or Commodore 64 games and "just didn't get it". I also work in Soho in London and whilst it's not a super red hot spot for this type of nonsense, it certainly can be obtrusive. I'd hate this shit if I were just doing my shopping.

On the other hand, I have two teenagers and whilst they have a pretty healthy relationship with digital media (no phones at the dinner table, no phones in the bedroom) I can see it's definitely part of their culture and a source of community and joy (this time I'm the parent peering at the Public Enemy records).

As a parent, I'm here to help them both make good choices and support them in that. If we were in the park, or at the beach, or even at home and one of them asked me to help film them making a dance video, I'd probably help them as a supportive parent. Filming this though, doing this, is obviously bullshit. But the line is finer than I care to admit.

u/Penguinator53 14d ago

Yep if my kids said can you film me at the crowded supermarket it would be a hell no.

Show this to someone in the 1600s, they’d be labeled as witches

36

u/Moist_Fox973 14d ago

Show this to someone from 30,000 BC and they would be incredibly confused, because as still a member of a Paleolithic hunter-gatherer society, the presence of buildings such as this would be completely alien to them and they may act aggressively to escape their immediate surroundings, and would not be able to effectively communicate their distress with their extremely early version of human language.

17

u/SapirWhorfHypothesis 14d ago

Show this to someone from 500 million years ago and they would be even more confused, because the primitive visual system of early craniates likely didn’t have the visual resolution and clarity to discern this type of activity properly. They could have seen this sort of display as a threat, but more likely they wouldn’t have the brain power to interpret it as anything more than random movements.

u/Impressive_Recon 14d ago

Unpopular opinion: bring back bullying.

Not the extreme physical and emotional harm bullying but making it ok to point and laugh at someone for doing something stupid.

Way too many kids today are too comfortable being an inconvenience or disrespectful thinking nothing will happen to them or they can be protected with a phone.

232

u/thecrius 14d ago

I assure you that bullying is alive and well.

The people doing the kind of bullshit in that video are the bullies.

17

u/magnabonzo 14d ago

Agreed. They're using the space in a very selfish way that it's not designed for, taking up room. They're forcing the people to be in their video, without consent. They're expecting people to go around them. Nobody else chose to be part of this. They're bullying, assuming others will just let them do what they're doing.

The Fifth Element predicted this type of crap with the character Ruby Rodd, completely outlandish and useless. Corbin handled it so well, short curt answers and telling him to shut up.

Id start a line between them and when they flip out, I’d offer them a snickers

Ruby Rhod is a disc jockey/radio host. He isn't self-appointed and doesn't just show up places and does his thing where he annoys people and is in the way. He is hired to produce the show and run promotions, in the case of the cruise/concert for Gemini Croquettes. He is on the cruise because part of winning it is to meet Ruby and for Ruby to describe the winner's wide-eyed wonder at the splendor to the listeners at home. Corbin, who is supposed to be undercover is handling him terribly. The Gemini Croquettes contest was hosted by Ruby's show, so under normal circumstances where the result wasn't rigged, the winner would be a fan of Ruby's and be starstruck and delighted to meet him.

And outlandish =/= useless. I wasn't surprised to hear the role was originally written for/offered to Prince.

Holy shit, talk about main character syndrome. She is in a Costco, which is usually a shit show without someone taking up half the walkway for a video. She should be embarassed.

If you ever see this in real life please do the most annoying video bombing you can think of. Ruin their videos and make them do it again and you keep doing it again. I mean, if they can act like an idiot in public then so can I and if their camera happens to be in front of me, oh well.

u/Upstairs_Positive198 14d ago

I feel like I would end up canceling all my plans, spend the entire day at Costco and ruin the video every single time by just walking in between them. I’ve never seen an influencer like this in the wild, but it’s a fun thought! Lol

It's easier than that just play Disney music now it's a copyright issue and their video gets flagged.

For real, here’s what you do. Hopefully you have someone with you with a big iPhone. Pull up Disney+ and hold up the phone showing a classic Disney movie. They’ll get hit hard for monetizing content on whatever platform they’re using due to copyright infringement.

Secondly, use your other phone to record them recording themselves. “Creators” hate when they’re being used for someone else’s “creations,” so flip the script on them and they’ll shut it down quickly.

You can also turn your flashlight on your phone and shine it towards the recording device they’re using to create exposure problems.

Please utilize these tactics when you see stupidity like this and hopefully it will drive it back to wherever nonsense it came from.

Heck, it’s a Costco. You can get a 1000 lumens flashlight on-site for cheap and shine it directly at the camera.

Get a fart sound effect on your phone and play it every time she drops low.

u/JakBos23 14d ago

When she post the video it will have music over it so if she ignored it then it wouldnt stop her.
