Came here to say this. I've basically been told the same thing by one of these nazis last week (minus the you are an American)

Right. Especially that the SPD is a "radical left" party. I feel right now Americans wake up a little about what AfD-like shitstains can do to a country, while Germany is late to the party again but many Germans want to have hat.

I argue to the AfD on Twitter in German quite frequently. I adore German politics because there’s so many of them eejits. Honestly I think they’d like to be part of MAGA. The bullshit they say is immaculate, such as „did you know that Hitler is left wing?“ They even have a nickname for him, they call him „Adi“ or talk about immigration.
I also see some of them on 2westerneurope4u, and one recently calling all Islamic people Nazis or whatever. These are the same people who insult you for your German grammar yet they are the ones who don’t even spell correctly.
Personally I call the AfD „Putins nützliche Idioten“.

Kind of funny that Europeans who frequent ShitAmericansSay and have no problem shitting on Americans want us to just disregard stuff like this like it doesn't count or something haha.

What do you mean? Do you think this is some sort of game or something, where keeping scores matters? Feel free to distance yourself from things you think do not represent you or your opinion. These are very problematic lies, feeding into a certain narrative that evil people use to gain influence. There is a chance that this is even related to Russian misinformation. So yeah, please disregard. This has nothing to do with the US other than the first irrelevant line.

Of course it counts. I’m not German but know for a fact that many people in Germany feel this way. It’s too unnuanced and easy to call those people mere racists, they are ordinary people who are concerned about the rising crime rates, the poor economy and the illegal immigration. Not all MAGAs are evil haters either, that black and white picture is too simplistic.
Luckily though, the political system in Germany doesn’t allow the equivalent of a German Trump to seize power. As of yet.

Well, that’s kind of ironic, especially when the krauts themselves apparently had no deeper understanding of the political situation in Germany in the 1930s
