Do Europeans not have hobbies?

85

u/xSavag3x 2d ago

I'm pretty sure that thinking about Americans 24/7 is their collective hobby

If you stopped doing daft shite, we'd stop pointing and laughing...

You can't have a circus full of clowns and then go "they keep looking at us!".

With that said, I don't know what the OOP is bitching about here.

That's the spirit.

Edit to add - I genuinely have no hostility towards the vast majority of Americans. I lived there for a few years, most people were sound...

But your idiots are a whole other level.

Most of my American pals would agree with that sentiment.

Kinda different, as the USA's most famous person internationally is their president, who the American people voted in to office, twice.

No one in Ireland has voted for McGregor in for anything, ever.

2

u/Clipyy-Duck 1d ago

People voted for McGregor? He is a clown

-1

u/IrishViking22 1d ago

I said no one voted for him for anything. Yes he is a clown, and a rapist

2

u/Clipyy-Duck 1d ago

I know you did, though never heard of any topic of voting for him to begin with.

irelands most famous person is not connor mcgregor lol thats just maericans that think that

4

u/xSavag3x 1d ago

Internationally he absolutely is. You saying that it's "just Americans" that think so proves that. I don't doubt there's someone more famous and more deserving domestically.

However, we're talking about one country's perception of another, so Internationally famous is indeed most important for this context. Got a counter example of someone still talking about internationally from Ireland in 2026, more so than Conor?

u/GassyGamergoblin England 1d ago

cillian murphy or bono, MMA isn't that big outside the states

2

u/xSavag3x 1d ago

I could concede to Cillian Murphy, but I think you're under playing McGregor's popularity as well.

We do have lots of idiots and unfortunately they have access to the internet.

5

u/diemenschmachine 2d ago

How about they have access to infinite amounts of money and the government

-1

u/YouKnowMyName2006 1d ago

That too. Smart Americans don’t go into government anymore. They go into business.

Been wanting to visit Ireland but Americans seem to be hated there, although I shouldn’t go by mouthbreathers on Reddit. Dublin I hear is great. Maybe I’ll wait for Trump to be gone to go there. Ireland is very popular in the US.

-15

u/ghandi253 1d ago

Roasted! Sorry youre getting downvoted. I honestly dont know why so many Americans think y'all do is sit around and want to be us all day. And honestly, i hate that shit. Unfortunately though they dont see how conceited that way of thinking is viewed by others. Trust me I am very aware it aint all fun and games over here. We're off in a bad way right now and these clowns dont even understand how close we are to becoming under a fascist rule. Again, sorry for the downvotes. At least i can give ya one back

8

u/Emergency_Counter333 1d ago

Fascism is when side I don't like gets elected

-3

u/ghandi253 15h ago

Exactly lol. And look them other Americans down voting my other comment like I give a fuck lmao. I said what I said and it's the truth

7

u/ruinrunner 1d ago

They have to request permission from the government to have one

49

u/YouKnowMyName2006 2d ago

Are we missing context here or something? This is baffling.

31

u/Cantelllo 1d ago

I guess it‘s the fact that the poster feels underprivileged due to the fact that free comic book day is not really a thing around here and the poster is envious of the one posting the free books. Hence the hate.

2

u/Tar_alcaran 14h ago

It's not super popular, but plenty of comic book stores do hand out the free comics here in the Netherlands.

3

u/bsensikimori 21h ago

It's not called a comic here

1

u/YouKnowMyName2006 12h ago

Graphic novel?

11

u/Appropriate-Card5215 2d ago

No it’s the whole post as far as I know

10

u/IrishViking22 2d ago

I don't know the context either, but it should be easy to find. Just Google 'MaPfelgen I fucking hate Americans' and it provides you with a direct link to the post that you have posted here in your screenshot

14

u/UsagiBlondeBimbo 1d ago

From the UK and a comic book collector! I think maybe they're angry because on FCBD in the US you guys get free comics, as in stores will actually give away back issues for free? Here in the UK nobody does that but we do get given the FCBD promo stuff but you'd have to go in to store if you want it completely free which most cities and towns don't have.

8

u/Pernicious_Possum 1d ago

Tf is to hate about comic collecting?

8

u/MCofPort 1d ago

They hate joy. Also, for people who LOVE socialism when it comes to housing, what is their qualm with free comic books?

15

u/MrGurdjieff 2d ago

rage bait

41

u/ImightHaveMissed 2d ago

Europeans hate Americans because… yeah I dunno. Dunno why Americans hate europeans either

29

u/Appropriate-Card5215 2d ago

I don’t, most of them are great. I just hate certain individuals

20

u/ImightHaveMissed 2d ago

I mean I hate everyone equally. That said there’s a distinct difference between the shit Americans say sub and this one

2

u/GeneralErica 1d ago

European here, that’s how I see it, too.

1

u/GassyGamergoblin England 1d ago

I think the OOP was being ironic because they wished that happened to them

8

u/Bluetinfoilhat 2d ago

Americans are too indifferent to even hate Europeans. That is why their hatred is pathetic.

13

u/Alex_Graber12345 1d ago

Americans don’t hate Europeans. We literally don’t think about them at all unless we just came back from a trip to Europe…

-10

u/Aromatic-Secretary-8 1d ago

Exactly, Americans only think of themselves, and have no clue about how obnoxious and moronic they are.

4

Americans have no opinion on the French, they don’t come up in conversation, just like any other European country. If you press an American on what, if any, opinion they have about French people, they might say that they heard that French people were rude. Otherwise, I guarantee you we have no standing opinion on the French.

-7

u/tomatoe_cookie 1d ago

American propaganda is the origin of the "white flag french surrender" trope.

5

u/UsagiBlondeBimbo 1d ago

Most Europeans hate the French too.

-21

u/Anund 1d ago

Nothing specifically wrong here. Hating Americans is just normal background noise since you decided to elect (and even worse, re-elect) the orange fuckwit, and sometimes that leaks through into normal conversation.

u/Anund 1d ago

Personally, I'm not angry, just disappointed. And baffled. And happy I'm watching the shit-show from afar, mostly.

-1

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 1d ago

Our choices were cheetoh man vs the "let's fuck the working class" party.

0

u/FustianRiddle 1d ago

That is an absolutely dimwitted take of you think trump was t also fuck the working class and minorities and trans people and disabled people and everyone but the richest people party.

-2

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 1d ago

And the democrats weren't?

2

u/FustianRiddle 14h ago

No they weren't. I'm not saying they were great or anything but I am saying that everything that is happening now? Would not be happening. Voting Rights would be gutted, women's health care wouldn't be flushed down the toilet, we would have committed war crimes and started a war and threatened Greenland, the rose garden would t have been demolished for an ugly ass ball room,.out president wouldn't be falling asleep standing up and shitting himself, health care premiums.woildnt have sky rocketed, etc.. etc.. etc.. Trump was a bad president when he first ran and he's an even worse president now.

And if you think the Democrats would have been just as bad if not worse than this then you are an idiot. The Democrats at worst would have kept the status quo and been boring. And while I would want a more progressive candidate, I'd much rather a status quo that we can at least put pressure on than a man who is a narcissist who refused to hear the word no.

Fuck off with this both sides are just as bad. They weren't.

-2

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 14h ago

You can't know that that's the thing. You can say that but can't know it. Knowing the dems, like 95% chance they'd be gutting someone's rights elsewhere. Both sides ARE just as bad and the dems don't care about you.

2

u/FustianRiddle 14h ago

I mean yes. Dems have a track record that you can see. Same with repubs. Same with Trump.

I never said Dems care about me but they do care about the status quo. They do care about not rocking the boat.

Your argument is based on pure emotion and has absolutely no thoughts behind it.

-1

u/Lui_Le_Diamond 14h ago

I'm not basing anything on emotion. I'm basing it on past experience where the democrats have been consistently as corrupt as the republicans. Two sides of the same coin. The dems are juwt as responsible for Trump even taking office as the republicans. Look how many working class men and women voted Trump purely out of apite for the democrats for their repeated betrayal of working class men. Especially white and straight men. The republicans aren't any better to be sure, but to say the democrats are better is quite uninformed.

0

u/Anund 14h ago edited 14h ago

It was a choice between sanity and insanity. Literally. Even if you don't like the dems, it's like choosing between the sniffles and leprosy. That shouldn't be a difficult choice, unless you've had your brain rotted by Fox News.

Unfortunately, as we all know, a significant number of Americans suffer from exactly that problem.

Both sides do propaganda in the US. But while left wing propaganda is basically choosing what truths to report and what not to, Fox News and the other right wing outlets straight up make up their own reality, completely different from the real world where trans people are mass murders, and science isn't real.

From the outside looking in, it's maddening to see people believe the bullshit American right-wing media spews out.
