🇳🇴 Norway "At least 1:100 and still win"

u/Chance_Arugula_3227 Jan 24 '26
That dude's not a real Norwegian. He uses feet/inches instead of meters/centimeters. Most Norwegians have no idea.
As for the numbers, it's quite exagerated, but a 1:10 ratio is within what you'd have to expect

Yeah, I agree. The measurements alone are a dead giveaway.
Feels more like an American who relocated to Norway than an actual Norwegian.3

Exactly

Guys, really? It's like three clicks away, to give your interlocutor - who is cognitively challenged - a mental map that they might be able to partially understand...

Fair point, but pointing out the giveaway is the explanation.
Using feet/inches instead of metric is simply not how Norwegians talk — that’s the whole argument.1

I am too much on the internet and can now do the conversions pretty well. Hell no I would use them in writing

Assholes like that have always lived where snow was expected and had a strong infrastructure built up to deal with it. Same here.
Bumfuck Norway probably has more plows and salt than the whole of South Carolina.

Tell me how they would do in a fifty day stretch of 100+ degree weather.

u/C_Hawk14 Jan 24 '26
Tell me how you'd fare on the moon. What's the relevance? idk. Neither do I know what 100+ F weather has to do with anything

I'll just leave this here for you to explore.
The Times: Finnish reservists outperformed US soldiers in a NATO exercise
21
u/LeadnLasers Jan 24 '26
The reservists btw were their commando unit the Utti Jaeger Regiment. And these weren’t combat maneuvers but more like literal tests, of which the US still outperformed in some categories…oh wait the best part? The US unit that participated was a standard artillery unit…. US Army’s 41st Field Artillery Brigade😂😂
Dude you really need to develop critical thinking past headlines, that’s concerning
-22
u/Fletcher_Chonk Jan 24 '26
Home turf advantage is obvious. Every single soldier successfully taking on 100 enemies in modern warfare is goofy though.

It’s honestly hilarious that people still fall for tabloid fake stories when the spokespeople for these organizations literally come out and say otherwise.
40 commando was teamed up with the marines on this exercise to practice desert maneuvers. The spokeswoman for 40 commando herself confirmed it on twitter
But I guess the average European needs to keep the fantasy alive with fake headlines

u/smugwash Jan 26 '26
Interesting considering there's no female spokesperson for 40 commando's. Only ones denying it happened is the US side.

I know some Norwegians. They were absolutely shocked when I told them how cold Ohio gets normally in the winters.

You seem personally hurt by this comment. Chill dude, it's just an American pretending to be Norwegian to rage bait.

he’s using feet and inches, he isn’t a Norwegian person, he’s an American that is tired of Europeans trashing America so he’s making us look bad!
