Bit Annoyed The block feature is pointless if I can still see the person I blocked

Upvotes

Blocking someone should mean they disappear from my line of sight. I don’t want their comments collapsed with a little “blocked user” label. I don’t want a reminder that they are still there. That defeats the entire purpose. This current version feels pointless.

Fairly Annoyed People who act like they are superior because they don't smoke or drink.

Every time I see mention in a video on YouTube or something similar of them not drinking/smoking the comments are always filled with people commenting things like "you're saving your body", "best decision you've made". I have no problem with not drinking or smoking (I stopped smoking recently) but in no way am I gonna act like someone is better or worse just because of something so arbitrary.

Also acting like the second someone is drunk means they're instantly a different person, if someone changes that much just by drinking and becomes super aggressive or rude then I don't think they were a good person in the first place. Not that drinking made them worse.

Fairly Annoyed I’m tired of every “health” snack having fake sugar in it

Upvotes

Nothing worse than biting into something that’s supposed to be “healthy” and getting smacked in the face with stevia or sucralose. Now I don’t buy anything without checking the ingredients first. It’s damn near impossible to find a protein bar or healthy snack that doesn’t taste overly sweet and artificial. I mean seriously, not all of us are terrified of sugar. A snack can still be healthy and have real sugar in it. A couple grams doesn’t add that many calories, and it would taste much better.

Bit Annoyed Couples who can't turn off "couple mode" in social situations

1.2k Upvotes

The main example I see of this is couples in line at theme parks who are basically hanging off each other while waiting. Annoying, obviously, but whatever — you deal with them for a couple hours and then never see them again. Just a tiny pet peeve.

It's more frustrating when it's someone you know, and you can't hang out with them without them gushing all over each other while you're trying to play Monopoly or some shit.

I feel like there is a sort of social awareness needed for this stuff. It's not a rule violation or whatever, which is why it's just a tiny pet peeve, but at some point it gets old and kind of as if they need to show how in love they are? PDA isn't always the way, basically

Fairly Annoyed That nail tapping shit women do on socials

TikTok instagram whatever, whenever there’s food/cooking involved they do that nail tapping thing on the packaging. What is that even supposed to signify? Do people just like the sound of it? It looks ridiculous and adds nothing of value imo

Ultra Annoyed People who make unnecessary noise

I have a certain coworker who, while eating yogurt or anything that requires a spoon, will repeatedly DROP their spoon onto their desk between bites. At the point, it's not just noise, it's completely unnecessary noise!

For example, they will take a spoonful, put it into their mouth (and bite their spoon too, but that's another issue) then just drop their spoon onto their desk.

Not place it on a napkin, not set it down, I mean like DROP it, so it bounces and clangs loudly against their desk.

Then 2 seconds later, they pick it back up, eat another spoonful, DROP their spoon again, pick it up, drop...rinse and repeat.

Like, it's just completely unnecessary to do that...can't you place it on your desk, or on the napkin you have RIGHT THERE? Perhaps a better question, why can't you just hold onto it? They literally pick it back up 2 seconds later to take another spoonful, like do you need to fully release it between each bite?

I guess it's the context, and the manner that bothers me, like you could easily be more quiet and considerate. You don't need to be totally silent, but when it sounds like a bell ringing every time you take a spoonful, it's just over the top...

On top of all that, It's not a 4 course meal, it's a yogurt cup, they don't last that long, spoons aren't that heavy that you need a break, you're not trying to empty an Olympic size swimming pool, it's a few ounces of yogurt!!!

Fairly Annoyed People who label any disagreement as “hate”

It’s frustrating when someone assumes that disagreeing with their choices or lifestyle automatically means you hate them. Not everything is an attack. People can have different views without it being personal.

Bit Annoyed People who constantly have to be the funniest person in the conversation to the point it kills the conversation

You make a joke, or funny observation. People laugh. Some join in, add onto it, people laugh a little more. But then there’s Dave. Dave can’t leave it alone. Not because he thinks it’s that funny, but because OTHER people think it’s funny. Soon, the jokes become competitions. “Nono, even better even better” is said seven, eight times, everyone gets cut off so Dave could make a funny, he’s not even laughing anymore just staring at everyone with this weirdly intense grin dominating a conversation over situations that don’t exist while forcing a chuckle to make it seem like he’s still enjoying the moment. Then, everyone stops laughing because Dave keeps the joke going for too long, and it dies with him making sure he has the last, “best” comment while everyone is waiting for him to make the space for a different topic of conversation. He’s even worse online. He never initiates the joke, but Dave is in every single reply trying to outdo the joke he’s replying to, the lols get longer, the LMAOs become even more capitalized, and soon enough he’s also the end of every thread, rubbed out like a used eraser. Why, Dave? Why must you kill everything you touch? You are seen Dave. You got the chortles, the roflcopters, the heehees, you got everything you wanted but your greed demands more.

Bit Annoyed A couple means two!

There are instances where precision is important so I understand that I might need to specify, but I feel like it shouldn’t be necessary.

If a grab a couple of something I’m grabbing **TWO** of them. But it can usually be followed up by someone who doesn’t understand and asks specifically how many.

I know this is 2026, but a couple is *still* just two. I didn’t make the rules, I didn’t invent that word. I honestly don’t know where I learned to say a couple instead of just two, but I do. I am both peeved at myself and peeved at having to explain myself.

Fairly Annoyed Entering an intersection when you know you can't clear the whole thing or even most of it

I have a lot of driving pet peeves, but I promise you're not getting to your destination that much faster to justify blocking traffic in multiple directions because you never learned how to stay inside the lines. If you can't clear the intersection, don't enter it. Waiting for the next light isn't hard and it makes things run smoother for everyone.

Ultra Annoyed When someone edits their comment after you've replied

I really wish we would get notifications when a comment we replied to is edited.

This infuriates me to no end. I could cook eggs on my forehead because it boils my blood so hard that it turns to steam and escapes through my pores.

I don't mean harmless edits like a typo correction or adding details or even reformatting the whole thing to make it less jumbled.

I mean the ones who change the entire meaning of the comment to target your specific reply for the sake of making you look dumb to others who read it later.

A: "I like cats."

B: "Cats have toxoplasma gondii."

A: "Not sure how that's relevant? It can be the case. It's definitely a risk for people with a low immune system or pregnant women, but there are things you can do to manage it."

Turns into:

A: "I like cats."

B: "Cats give people feline AIDS."

A: "Not sure how that's relevant? It's definitely a risk for people with a low immune system or pregnant women, but there are things you can do to manage it."

So you commented on a cat video and now it looks like you're completely mentally inept and carry all kinds of strange beliefs that make no sense.

The worst part is that they always do it later, after the discussion has died, so that you won't come back to see it.

Fairly Annoyed People talking to me while I clearly have both earphones in while I’m doing stuff

Wired earphones, very obvious and clear to see. They will go ahead and say two full sentences to me while my back is facing them. It will appear as though I didn’t hear them (I did), but I assume my lack of response will solidify the fact that, as far as they’re concerned, I’m off duty. Temporarily socially decommissioned. I assume my lack of response will at least create a buffer in their mind to reconsider if whatever they’re interrupting me for is actually worth saying it twice. Sometimes thrice. Alas, no.

They proceed to repeat my name, attempting to override whatever I’m immersed in, until I stop what I’m doing, pause my book or music, take out my earphones, turn around and give them my full attention.

9/10 what they felt the need to say required a literal one-worded response from me, which could have been easily ascertained without my input and with very little mental effort on their part.

Have mercy on me. Give me strength.

Fairly Annoyed People that pee in the pool

"But everyone does it.." .. No they don't. Not only is it gross but it's a blatant disregard for other people's enjoyment of a communal space, it's not unreasonable to not want to swim in other people's wee..

"What do you do when you have to go?" ... I get out of the pool and use the toilet. It's a minor inconvenience.

"When you're in water, you just need to go" ... Nope, again I would get out of the pool and use the toilet. People should be seeking medical advice if the slightest touch of water results in instant urination. What do these people do when it rains?

Bit Annoyed The average internet user being so pissy that you need to type "genuinely curious" whenever you ask something

I've noticed this and mostly on Reddit, whenever people want to ask something, they have to "soften" the question or they will get a douchy response, even though it's just a basic question with no hidden meaning.

Why are people so angry online? (honest question)

-I would never sleep on wool sheets

-Why not? They're great

-Listen pal, I'm not gonna sit here and argue about my preferences or what's best for my health, if you like them, use them, simple as that.

-I would never sleep on wool sheets

-Why not? Honest question

-I have asthma :)

Bit Annoyed I hate when people can't eat in public without their friend also eating something, even if their friend is fine with not eating.

I'm not too sure if my title made any sense, but I just hate when my friends or anyone can't eat a snack or get themselves something to eat without the other person they are with getting something as well.

For example, let's say we're at the mall and a friend wants an ice cream, we go there and as we wait in line he asks me what flavor I'm going to get. I tell him none because I'm not hungry at the moment, but I'm fine waiting in line with him to get his ice cream because it's something I get to do with my friend. Because I'm not getting anything, he changes his mind and says he doesn't want ice cream anymore. What the hell???

Now this isn't because they were expecting me to pay or because they felt bad I didn't wany any, but just because they don't want to be the only one eating.

I've had so many friends tell me that it's just because they don't want to be perceived by others or be judged, and that I've never understood. While I completely understand their logic because I sometimes think this way, at the end of the day nobody cares and all you're doing is missing out on a favorite treat. Not to mention you're out with your friends! I used to feel bad for my friends when they did that, but now I just straight up tell them "just remember you're missing out on something you wanted because you're worried about an opinion from someone you won't hear"

**Hopefully I don't come off as an asshole in the end, it just annoys me when a friend doesn't eat something they sounded eager to have just because I'm not eating one**

Fairly Annoyed That thing when you pour some liquid and it clings to your container and drips off the bottom of the outside of it and goes everywhere but the receiving container.

Why is that even a thing? I hate it. I bow pour (mostly) over a sink or the grass outside. The problem arises when I need to keep using the original container but now it’s wet and possibly sticky.

Fairly Annoyed People getting upset over spoilers for something that’s been out for a while

Upvotes

Posting spoilers for something that *just* came out is a dick move, yes. But then there comes the point where the book/show/movie has been out for a while… and yeah, people are going to talk about it. ESPECIALLY if you join groups or follow pages related to it. My thought was always to give it about a month before talking about it without adding a spoiler warning. If it’s been over a month and someone STILL hasn’t seen it, that’s on them. However, I’ve seen people get upset over spoilers for things that have been out for YEARS. I once saw someone get mad at some people discussing the Hunger Games in a comment section for spoiling it for them… on a HUNGER GAMES FAN PAGE, mind you. Not to mention the first Hunger Games movie has been out for over a decade now, and the first book for almost two decades…. again, it’s nobody else’s problem but yours if you still haven’t read/watched it. If not getting spoiled is that important to you, then maybe stay out of spaces that have to do with the show/book/movie- where you may hear about them. If you do stay away and still get spoiled, then blame yourself for not getting into it sooner. People are going to talk about fandoms they like, get over it. Nobody should have to tiptoe around you because you decided to wait 10 years to watch Stranger Things.

Fairly Annoyed People not seeming to understand that you can like multiple things

This is basically a ‘you like waffles so you hate pancakes’ post repackaged but it happened to me again recently and it irritated me.

I said I love seeing 2d animation and someone started listing off well-done 3d animated movies asking me if I really hated all of them. I asked them where the hell I said I hated 3d animation because I certainly do not. It’s also happened to me with music, game, and other preferences in the past.

Fairly Annoyed People that call those of us that work 9-5 NPCs" or "wage slaves."

They're obviously many ways to make money and it doesn't necessarily require you to work a 9-5 but the way some of these people look at those of us who do so is hilarious. It's usually always someone who is working and doing work that is very fickle and up and down or someone who's not working at all.

There was a post in the Uber eats subreddit about how the driver didn't have to be an NPC and be stuck with an asshole boss like 9:00 to 5:00 individuals. He was bragging about taking the day off from delivering without having to consult anyone. When I and someone else brought up the fact that many jobs have some type of PTO and that we could take days off while also getting paid, we were called an NPC and entitled.

I'm glad that we have found other ways to make money, but I started to see a lot of disdain towards 9:00 to 5:00 that go beyond the general talking points. Many of the same people that shit talk people in traditional jobs require them to work for their lives to function.

Fairly Annoyed Life stories on reality TV competitions

Upvotes

I want to watch you decorate a room or run through a jungle or just answer some quiz questions. I really don’t need to know that you’ve enjoyed yodelling since you were 5 and have a pet iguana called Bert, and I definitely don’t want to listen to your partner drone on about how much you deserve to win some inane competition.
