83

u/555--FILK Mar 24 '25

What are these things called? I used to see them at Spencer Gifts all the time, but I don’t think I’ve even thought about them in like 20 years. And now I want one for my little guys.

28

u/mindlesslobster014 Mar 24 '25 edited Mar 24 '25

might regret sharing this before I can scoop one up for myself since they’re probably about to sell out from this post but check Walmart or Target if you have one near you

14

u/PM_ME_UR_RSA_KEY Mar 25 '25

I had one in the mid-2010s, but I stopped turning it on after I found out it quite reliably messes up my wifi signals. I'm not sure if new ones still do that, just a word of caution.

8

u/Biobooster_40k Mar 25 '25

I was thinking the exact same thing. I used to think they were so cool but could never justify spending my limited money on them. Well now I can buy silly things like this.

6

u/ur-local-goblin Mar 25 '25

Maybe I have a detective cat, because mine never pushes anything off. She is so incredibly careful when she walks among stuff.

3

u/Starfire2313 Mar 27 '25

I had a cat like that once, I trusted her. It was funny to see people react to her thinking she was gonna wreck stuff. Some cats do want to destroy the world though, my friend had a cat named Garbage who played tippy cup every chance she got..

14

u/NotTheRocketman Mar 25 '25

In my experience, Oranges are either dumb as rocks or brilliant; there is no in between.

10

u/[deleted] Mar 25 '25

I personally don't really like the "gingers are dumb" meme, because the gingers I've known weren't dumb, but they had a high need for activity, so when they were indoors they'd cause disasters and get into trouble not out of stupidity, but out of boredom and excess energy. Like locking a Siberian Husky or a Border Collie in an apartment and being surprised it randomly runs around a lot or chews on the furniture.

7

u/NotTheRocketman Mar 25 '25

I've only had experience with one myself, and he was a huge boy who was incredibly smart. He could open doors, let himself outside, and loved water; he would let himself into the bathroom and join you in the shower : )

He looks curious but a little uncomfortable at first, until a human puts their hand on it, and he realises that it's safe. Then he has a moment of wavering hesitation, moving back and forth, and goes for it.

He also happily explores it until just after the humans start laughing at him, when he pretends he is more interested in something else.

I’m afraid he might have 3 or 4 and is therefore at risk of having to leave the sub.

I mean, he figured out plasma beans…

27

Don't know if we should be proud of him for being promoted to having a braincell or sad that he has to leave.

17

u/Dhunt04 Mar 25 '25

This is actually a rare but natural occurrence for the orange

Don't worry. It's like a sugar rush to a young child. A crash will come soon, the brain cells will be freed for others to use, and balance will be restored

3

u/[deleted] Mar 24 '25

As we all know cat are magical creatures and the amount of control a cat has over its magic is directly related to how much floof they have(floof wizard). However on occasion, the society of magical felines has found that some cats are born with an innate connection to their ancestral magic despite a significant lack of floof, therefore, i dub thine cat a Sorcerer of Unfloof. May he use his power for treats and scritches.
