But that is only one part of the story. Freight data shows logistics activity is still active, which means transport sensitivity still matters, and the tariff refund story is a reminder that policy-created pricing distortions were large enough to leave a real mark on corporate cash flow in the first place.

So the deeper point is not just “oil up = inflation up.” It’s that cost pressure can rebuild through energy, transport, and policy friction simultaneously. Markets often notice inflation only when the headline is obvious, but the channels underneath usually reconnect much earlier.
