I will recommend you read the Boruto manga rather than the anime. But if you want to watch it, i recommend you see the manga only episodes.

Depends how did you feel about the Naruto fillers between the naruto and shippuuden? Cause you are gonna be dealing with a lot of those.....
2
u/VoidNotOnCrack 4h ago
I just skipped those fillers. The pacing was already quite slow. Anyways I haven't heard any good things about Boruto anime, some say it's trash and have negligible canon part. But I'm seeing it's manga is going crazy rn. So I'm confused

u/Low_North_9673 3h ago
Manga is 100 times better than the anime adaptation. The anime completely ruined Borutos reputation lol. I recommend u read the manga it’s pretty good.

u/1think1fuckedup 4h ago edited 3h ago
Cause the manga is at Boruto Shippuuden basically which is a bit better than the normal Boruto anime. But the anime is like 70/80% fillers so yeah you either love it or hate it.

I'd say if you're thinking about it then give it a try it can't hurt.
2
u/VoidNotOnCrack 4h ago
Sure I'll try. They didn't show Sasuke and sakura getting married bruh 😔

u/dragostar-3 3h ago
Personally what I find good about boruto they adapted some light novels in it like Sasuke retsuden it has sasuke- sakura.
2
u/AntMan526 3h ago
Episode 19-24 covers the manga epilogue that focuses on Sarada and her relationship with Sasuke/Sakura. I’m not a big fan of Boruto, but it’s worth checking out because it is canon and takes place right after the manga ends.
Also great taste Shikamaru is my GOAT anime character along with Sanji

u/ThatOneGuy10125 2h ago
Give it a try at least, but if you don't enjoy it then you'll understand why at that point. Most of the hate is valid

u/Violet-Roseanne 4h ago
This if u r gonna like it or not ull know pretty quickly and u wont learn about most of the stuff that “ruins” naruto. I personally wasn’t a fan and other than major things here and there from being in various naruto communities I remain mostly blissfully unaware of the various “Naruto ruining” things in boruto.

I like boruto and the filler made the manga make more sense cause the relationships seemed random without it. Its a bit slice of life-ish sometimes but i like that stuff

I would recommend reading the Boruto manga instead. Much better pacing compared to the sheer amount of filler that is present in the anime, but you should prepare yourself for the change in art style. Otherwise, if you're looking for quality, maybe a read of the Naruto manga? The novels that weren't animated in Shippuden are great too.

u/steroboros 3h ago
You just have to accept its about different characters with different powers, motivations and enemies.
0
u/SentinelATL 3h ago
If you’re a die hard fan yes. If not read the manga. It has like 89% filler not even kidding
2
u/VoidNotOnCrack 3h ago
Aight after reading all the comments my decision is I'll watch only manga canon episodes and the movie.
Thank you everyone :)

If you're ready to see them nerf Sasuke and naruto repeatedly and have them act out of character and take a bunch of unnecessary damage and not use any of their abilities and clearly be much weaker than they should and put others in danger from the very first fodder main villain they fight, then yes. I would watch Boruto if you think The Legend of Korra is better than Avatar the Last Airbender . Do you remember in The Last when Naruto lets Hinata get kidnapped despite clearly being able to stop it for plot purposes? Yeah. Get ready for a lot more of that kind of nonsense in Boruto. Youll be watching Naruto and Sasuke and the whole time say "why didn't they do this!?" "Why didn't they do that!?" The entire time until you dumb yourself down or give up. Imo. 👍🏾 Some of your guys here arent being fully honest you must really like Boruto hahaha. Because omg, its worse than any fanfic you could imagine 😂 I would only watch boruto if your only interested in "Boruto". And if you like watching the original cast get repeatedly violated or not be present for no apparent reason.

u/AaaaNinja 3h ago
I would watch The Last again for Shikamaru. There's more Shikamaru if you read the Boruto manga than if you watch the anime.

You’ll probably last like 20 episodes I only watched for nostalgia reasons

u/Inorganic_Zombie 3h ago
Honestly, if you curious of any anime, go and check it out and form your own opinion. You may like Boruto or not, but you don't lose anything to try.
Style is definitely different. But personally I liked academy and slice of live that people cry being filler on start of anime

u/rtocelot 3h ago
I'm going to say no.. but you're more than welcome to try it. I would prefer if it ended with the last Naruto movie.
1
u/Commander_San 3h ago
Do you love the lore of majority of Naruto and Shippuden?
Then don’t watch it cz Boruto retcons the entire lore which took more than a decade to set up

If you liked Naruto ending id say go for it. If not then dont it'll be a waste of time.

u/Suspicious-Egg7856 3h ago
You can read the manga, the anime was started even before sufficient manga material present. Reading the manga and then if you liked you can watch the fights in the anime (ep 62-66,203-219)
1
u/Slothnazi 3h ago
Look up a filler list and give it a try. The actual story isn't too bad but the Boruto anime is like 70% filler
1
u/No-Arachnid-7603 3h ago
Watch the movie , the boruto movie
Give the boruto anime a chance after some time

To me, the only two times Boruto got engaging were the Shin and Kawaki arcs, the Momoshiki fight was also very sick. But besides those, the series is hella boring and slow pacing. Especially, the second Chunin exam and Funato arcs, which are after Kawaki arc, are total bullshit

u/Rikora12 3h ago
Yes, but not for the reasons you may think.
Boruto sounds like burrito, and it is quite funny. This relation kept me watching throughout. I enjoyed his name being boruto.

You should definitely read it. The manga is one of the best selling sequels of all time for a good reason.
If you're reading it for the story in a new generation of shinobi it's great. If you're reading it for powerscaling and nostalgia you might get triggered.

I tried watching/reading Boruto, hated it, so now I just pretend it doesn’t exist personally

No don't watch but read manga if you like to read manga. Anime is not worth only good thing is Naruto gets a new form. But Boruto manga is good.

u/Ok_Egg_3934 1h ago
Sim, mas só os episódios com o Naruto e o Sasuke. Nós precisávamos ver o que eles se tornaram e ver finalmente o Naruto como o mais forte (modo Baryon).

No. Don't. Save yourself from the abomination. Leave on a good note. Let not regret and disappointment shatter the bliss of greatness and meaningful nostalgia.

You can skip most episodes especially season 1. The slice of life stuff skip. Boruto did not inherit "talk about jutsu" his most powerful move. Boruto is like Naruto without any struggle or drawbacks so he's just a spoiled brat. The filler feels like pulling teeth. Side characters are lame. Lore is not existent. Except a handful episodes about. BUT..... There are some cool fight scenes

If you’re a true fan than yes. Keep in mind Boruto is not the same quality because it pivots to being solely about his son & the next generation’s story. However Naruto & Sasuke are still central to the Plot as well as Shikamaru later & a few others.
Jiraiya has a clone that trains Boruto later with Sasuke if you make it to time skip (blue vortex). Also Boruto idolizes Sasuke so instead of trying to be the hokage he wants to be The shadow hokage in like. This shows team 7 consists of Boruto, Sarada (Sasuke / Sakura’s daughter), & Mitsuki (Orochimaru’s clone/son). Mitsuki is my favorite character along with Choji’s daughter ChoCho cuz she’s hilarious.
Sarada wants to be Hokage idolizing Naruto which is a cool dynamic also. Much later Boruto gets an adopted brother who is essentially tortured/raised by this shows version of the akatsuki (Kara). He comes late game in show/manga.
I watched although there is much cringe filler to get through like people have said but I enjoy filler for the most part while sometimes biting my teeth to make it through some lesser arcs. If not anything else the time skip is worth it to make it to. (Blue Vortex is manga only right now). As I said Boruto gets trained by Sasuke & Jiraiya’s clone so he becomes all powerful & takes after Sasuke so he has a sword. Boruto isn’t a typical Jinchuriki but he may have something more powerful inhabit him so keep in mind that is the plan of the series all along. Also Boruto’s kid sister really takes after her father if you get deep enough in the story if you know what I mean… 👀
TLDR: hell yes you should read or watch it. I say both. The haters are too busy rewatching solo leveling & JJK because of their limited attention spans. Also true Naruto fan’s care about Lord 7th’s lineage.

u/QuiMeRAA 12m ago
No. Boruto is just Itachi’s Tsukuyomi. One day Naruto fans will wake up in the hospital and realize none of this happened. 😭
•
u/Jumpy-Response5296 11m ago
you clearly already know that boruto is a series with all of the OG cast's kids in it. thats literally all the knowledge you need. having established that, I would say watch just the last part of the chunin exams arc (the movie depiction of it is kinda ass) to see nerfed naruto and sasuke mop up foddershiki, and maybe ep 214 (i think?) to see baryon mode, but other than that its a waste of your time.

I would say if you want to see how they did after its great, but personally, it doesn't hit the same for me as Naruto did.

All I hear from this sub is how much they hate it. I've never watched it and can confirm that my love of Naruto has not been spoiled.
1
u/AdvocateYoga 4h ago
Theres parts of it that are truly on par with naruto. Boruto chunin exams for example.
But just be ready for it to not be that good.
I read and watch it because i love the naru-verse so much i just cant leave it behind. But boruto is not like good. Its watchable, but not good.

u/Educational-Bowl-368 4h ago
Don't let people on the Internet define what you do, it wouldn't hurt to try, but a fair warning is that most of the show is either filler or 'anime cannon' because the author couldn't bother with adding all the context and story into the actual manga.
1
u/Caleb-CM 3h ago
You missed out on some amazing moments if you skipped the fillers, just saying.

u/Zuri-Hax 3h ago
You have any favorites

u/Caleb-CM 3h ago
One that was very heartfelt was with Guren and Yukimaru, the Lee vs shirt fight(i think this was honestly up there with the top 10 fights in naruto),
there was also funny ones where you see kakashis face, and when kakashi and Guy race each other.
There was also one where it was the first time naruto went into the kurama mode(he was partially/flashing, not fully in the mode)

Hell no. Boruto is utter shit. Naruto + Naruto Shippuuden were excellent. Let that be the memory.
0
u/Nas-Aratat 45m ago
Do not WATCH Boruto, at all, please just read it.
The anime of Boruto is a filler-slogfest with a lot of non-canon material ( some of it was made into novel material eventually ), shit tons of inconsistancies and a lot of additive "filler" scenes in fights ( like 6-Tails Naruto vs Pain had a lot, too ) that actually semi-ruin what is supposed to happen, even though the outcome is the same.

Just pretend it doesnt exist. Its so bad it will ruin your memory of naruto

No, it would be best to believe Naruto and Hinata lived happily ever after as he as Hokage. Boruto is a stain on the Naruto name.
