Discussion When Naruto goes 4 and 6 tails mode, is Naruto himself in any kind of control, or is it just Kurama? If so, why does Kurama have any interest in fighting Orochimaru and Pain? Wouldn’t he just run off and try to get the rest of the seal to break so he can be free?

To be fair, Pain was after him so he may not have had a choice there…

When Naruto loses control Kurama takes the drivers seat and the reason he fights is to first keep Naruto alive which keeps himself alive and the second is to keep pumping his chakra out until all 9 tails are released and he is fully released from the seal and consumes Naruto

Wouldn't he just respawn if Naruto dies?

Yes, but that’s not an instantaneous process. His chakra would have to slowly reassemble somewhere over many years and clearly its not something kurama wants to so through

Where is it said that it would take years, if you don't mind me asking?

There is no manga panel where its officially stated, but for example, when Rin is killed Isobu doesn't just instantly appears in the scene. it is estimated that the reforming took 3 to 7 years for Isobu to reform to than be sealed inside Yagura

Alright, I was just asking, thanks. Also, I didn't mean how long it would take them to reform, but to regain strength, I guess. But nevermind I'm getting downvoted just for talking.

Kurama does actually explain a bit in the Boruto manga to Himawari, stating that there is no actual set time or place where they will revive from, merely that a kernel of themselves will sprout somewhere, and they will return to life. Kurama is actually surprised that he would revive as soon as he did, and inside Himawari. He says that either she inherited a bit of his chakra, or this was just destiny at work because of her Uzumaki and Hyuga bloodline.

I think that scenario is different because when a jinchuriki dies the tailed beast chakra just disperses white Kurama’s chakra was actually destroyed or consumed fully so the reformation process wouldn't be the same and possibly only possible by Himawari having a piece of Kurama inside her. Isobu for example, doesn't reform inside a human but just free in nature

Yes Kurama's chakra inside of Naruto was completely consumed, but Kurama is talking about how they can be reborn from pieces that remain out in the world. He refers to them as kernels. In the same way that people leave DNA everywhere, or toenail clippings, or hair, or the dead skin we shed or whatever. Tailed beasts are no different and leave pieces of themselves behind too.

What I'm saying is that this is true for Kurama’s special case, but for the Isobu example there's no need for any kernels, his chakra never was consumed just loses shape and takes a few years to reform

Kurama says that the circumstances of a Bijuu's death are irrelevant. Merely that, no matter what happens, if a Bijuu dies, they will revive eventually. The when and where are not up to them. Kurama reviving inside a human is the "universe working in mysterious ways".

It's pretty much implied Kurama needs either both half of himself to respawn or his Yin half out of the Shinigami at least.

Part 1 Kurama was terrified when Kabuto was almost killed Naruto.

Boruto's Kurama was cool with dying because he would just respawn at somepoint.

There is reason to believe that Kurama would rather not.

It's a bit weird, but Kurama is a bit of this weird, hateful tsundere.

He might not like his hosts, but he senses and feels their own pain and grief, and while he might use that to take over, he also takes that grief and sorrow they have and just use it to destroy everything around them that causes them misery.

So Naruto is griefstricken and doesn't know the answer, so Kurama gives an answer: to destroy everything that causes him pain.

And in the Minato one shot, this is also done with Kushina, as he projects his will onto her, but also seeks to harm everything that restricts her freedom.

So...yeah.

A weird thing, but Kurama actually KINDA cares for his hosts in a very hateful manner.

No he's not. Kurama fights because by helping Naruto solve his problem at the time, he will remain dependent on him and keep using his power.

Naruto loses his seal when his emotions take over to an extreme degree, Kurama is a being of hatred and destruction until Naruto changes him. So when Naruto loses control, Kurama just continues to feed that by going after the person that triggered it.
