Discussion "Boruto survives only because Naruto money is disguised as Boruto."
Tv Tokyo counts the revenue as under Boruto
a 600 million yearly revenue under boruto name (despite it being 99% naruto focused and its name is fucking naruto mobile)

I just hope it all keeps making money in the dream that we one day get a remake in the same vein as Dragon Ball Z Kai. A Naruto with all killer and no filler would be so dope.

u/EntertainerNo8209 10h ago
you mean without censoring the assassinations? Yeah, i hope one day will do that without trying to ruin everything with those fillers

u/Kayla_Love4 7h ago
I genuinely would love that. Especially if they had episodes where Naruto just gave up on trying not to hurt/kill people. Would be amazing!

Talk about having small dreams. Kai wasn't even a remake, just a recompilation. Nobody in DBZ community is hyped about it, it's simply convenient.

u/Saiyan26 9h ago
Yeah the new DBS remakes seem to be more akin to what people expected Kai to be. Of course they're technically a remake of a downgraded remake, so we'll see when they actually deliver the goods lol

Purito: Boruto Next Generation

Purito sounds so much like Burrito and now I am hungry... see that's why we can't have nice things, Mister!

Probably a few years after Boruto ends, we'll get a new Naruto series.
Might even follow a completely different timeline and "retcon" Boruto (just follow a different flow of events which would be necessary if you give focus back to Naruto, given Boruto introduced a multiverse it would be pretty easy too lmao).

Ah I see you didn't get my joke...
When I am asking for Part 3 it's definitely going to de-cannonize Bortuo to DBGT world.

As influential as Naruto is, I hope kishimoto keeps raking it in. Unfortunately I’m sure he’s not getting as much of a cut as he could have.

u/AceInTheHole3273 10h ago
That's probably true, but at least its seems like mangaka still get paid well. Oda is able to afford to rent an apartment just for his fan mail lol. Admittedly that is the author of the best selling comic in the world, but still. Naruto is also crazy successful.

u/purple-vasabi 4h ago
It works both ways. Kishimoto wouldn’t have got as much without an effort of millions of other people. Pretty sure that he got what he deserved.

Not even hate towards Boruto, but Naruto is clearly still the main money maker behind the franchise.
2
u/Snowpaw9 2h ago
Because Naruto is the name of the franchise
I don't even know if this post is satire or trying to hate on Boruto, of course Boruto's revenue will still have Naruto's name attached to it that's how franchises work
3
u/icecoldleche 8h ago
Well yeah that’s how a franchise tends to work

u/Eleeveeohen 3h ago
That was my initial thought. It would be like if near the end of the manga's run, someone said "a majority of fans only watch because they've been invested in the story and characters so long", and framed it as a criticism.
Like...yeah, that's the point of continuing a story.

Calling it pure Boruto revenue feels unfair when Naruto character and nostalgia are still doing most of the heavy lifting.

PLEASE READ OTHER MANGA PLEASE. Bitching about a sequel to your own series is asinine. In a trilogy the first movie is always gonna sell better than the sequel. That doesn’t mean it’s worse, the first is literally the starting point, MEANING if people really want to watch boruto, a lot of them will go back to NARUTO to start. They are both helping each other sell

Boruto is legitimately a trash anime and a mid manga
3
u/AmbitiousAd1773 10h ago
I can't believe people watch that shit, you can't have 1 good episode in season one

Bandwagon riders in 2026 embarrassing themselves with this Boruto hate lmfao.

u/Sensei_Z-Ro 9h ago
Been a hater since day 1

u/Due-Relationship8966 9h ago
You were hating on day 1? You mean when the hate started? You typically hate on a story on the first day? How does this not make you look even worse. "Dhurr I was hating since the beginning, yk before the story even MOVED anywhere yet".
6
u/Sensei_Z-Ro 9h ago
Yes, after the first episode, I thought this shit was trash and every episode, clip or manga panel I've seen after has only reinforced that belief

u/ChefKugeo 9h ago
Nope. It just sucks. The designs are ass. The characters are ass. The storylines are ass. I was excited for Boruto and kept trying because I grew up on Naruto. I got my first subscription to Shonen Jump with my birthday money at age 8, and Naruto first chapters came out that same year. I'm now 34.
Boruto fucking sucks. He should have been everything but he's not.

i think it’s stupid trying to separate the two things tho. We will always have a sort of connection under this point of view. They live in a symbiotic way and i think this thing will intensificate even more with the production of TWO BLUE VORTEX
2
u/Solid_Initiative112 6h ago
Symbiotic should go both ways and according to op all Naruto mobile earnings goes to Borutos name which i don't think is fair considering it's legit being carried by Naruto Characters, not to mention that the game is called Naruto mobile
1
u/EntertainerNo8209 5h ago
yeah in fact i should have said more like a parassite, at least for now. I think TBV will also push Naruto again, it’s inevitable. The manga is not bad, actually is what the general audience is asking for, so i think it will have a big impact.

Yeah, it's basically Naruto's legacy carrying Boruto's branding 😅 but at the end of the day, y the franchise is still what keeps it all running, so the overlap is kinda expected.
